Dela Cruz Lesson Plan in Industrial Arts I. TARGETS At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to: 1. Name the different requirements for a complete electrical circuit 2. Explain the importance of an electrical circuit. 3. Discuss briefly how each part of an electrical circuit functions. 4. Demonstrate the ability to draw an electrical circuit diagram using the standard electrical symbol. II. CONCEPT: Electrical Circuit SUBCONCEPTS: Parts of an Electrical Circuit Standard Electrical Symbol used to represent circuit parts. MATERIALS: Visual Aids, An actual example of an Electrical Circuit, Index Card, Pointer REFERENCE: Technology and Livelihood Education for Second Year by: Romulo B. III. STRATEGIES A. Preparations 1. Routine Activities Greetings, asking students to arrange their chairs and then proceed to checking of attendance 2. Review 3. Motivation Speed Thinking I will group the class into two and let them choose their representative. I will give each representative a set of words and ask them to go back to their group. The mechanics are theyre going to interconnect each word from one another in two minutes. What is the importance of electricity? What do you think would be our situation right now without the electricity?

The Set of Words to be shown to each group: Battery, Connecting Wires, Switch, Bulb B. Presentation 1. Discusses what an electrical circuit is and its different parts. 2. Presents actual example of Electrical Circuit. Electrical Circuit- is the movement of electric current from the source passing through connecting wires as conductors and back to its starting point. Parts of an Electrical Circuit a. Power Source: Source of Electric Current b. Connecting wires: Path of electric current. Conductor : allows electrons to flow freely Insulator: resists the flow of electrons c. Switch: control of electric current d. Current-consuming device: Make use of electric current 3. Shows the Standard Electrical Symbols used to represent circuit parts. Electrical Circuit Part Battery (Source) Wire (Conductor) Switch (Control) Bulb (Load) 4. Asks students participation by letting them identify the parts of a circuit represented by symbols on a diagram. 4. 3. Symbol

Parts Of A Circuit Represented By Symbols On A Diagram C. Application 1. Facilitate questioning expecting response from the students. (Question and Answer). D. Evaluation - See attached test paper. E. Agreement 1. What is Ohms Law? Explain briefly. 2. What are the kinds of circuit? 3. What are the things to remember in each circuit?
