Worn or damaGed HydrauliC Components, rolls, sHaFts and Gears Swanson Industries unique resurfacing technology restores worn or damaged hydraulic components, rolls, shafts and gears to prime working condition. Our ISO-9000 Registered laser processing leverages high-powered laser and CNC technology to surface-coat components with metal alloys. Depending on your application, we resurface or clad a new or damaged component with a specified alloy--Austenitic or Martensitic stainless steel, precipitation-hardening stainless steel, or nickel- or cobalt-based alloy. This technology enables rapid heat transfer to metallurgically bond an alloy with specified properties to a component substrate. Applications include potential internal diameter repair of cylinders and mechanical gear repair. This high-density process, called laser cladding, is performed with 20-, 12-, and 4-Kilowatt laser systems, depending on part size.

Selective hardness ranges Various levels of corrosion resistance Matching substrate chemistry Minimal inter-metallic dilution Low heat input Low thermal distortion Narrow heat-affected zone
Laser cladding handles high-volume surfacing, complex geometries, irregularly-shaped parts, multidimensional profiles, and threaded areas.

laser WeldinG
HydrauliC and meCHaniCal Components Swanson Industries has laser beam welding capability that is the welding
choice for some components. Laser welding is a fusion joining process that melts and then crystallizes metal to create a bond between metal parts.

FriCtion WeldinG
piston rod assemblies and Cylinder body FabriCation Swanson Industries specialized friction welding forces two component surfaces together,
one rotating and one stationary, under increasing pressure. In some cases friction welding is used for cylinder body fabrication, such as joining gland rings to tubes or welding end-caps to tubes. Dissimilar metals can also be welded without filler material Forged quality joints with a 100% butt joint weld through the contact area yields joint strength equal to or stronger than parent materials

75% less welding time compared to MIG Lower cost per weld Less expensive weld preparation More durable weld joints Controllable heat-affected zone Swanson maintains six frictiontype welding machines with varying capacities, depending on material heat-affected zone and any specified weld tonnage requirements.
