Student Staff Nurse General Objectives: Within 8 hours of clinical exposure at Butuan Medical Center Hospital, Medicine Ward, the student staff nurses are expected to: assess their patients condition accurately; provide nursing care to patients by utilizing the nursing process; render interventions and health teachings given to patient as well as to significant others; submit sample charting to head nurse; transcribe to chart sample charting and fill all papers to be filled; give the medications on time and do the drug study ahead on time; take all the vital signs accurately and regulate the IVFs correctly. rounds, established rapport to our patients and initially assessed 4 of them. IVF levels were checked including the type of solution. Placing of IV and Bed tags was implemented. I was able to read the chart and scanned the previous doctors order. This was rechecked by my charge nurse. My staff was able to work in their designated especially the vital signs nurse. Due meds were given, both IVTT and P.O meds including the starting doses. Charts were scanned by my staffs to document the things they have done in their assigned work. Charge nurse did the bedside care and I was there to check and assisted her. This was done by my medication nurses. They were able to do the preparation ahead. This was carefully done by my vital signs nurse. Consent was obtained before so not to irritate them. Due meds were given, both IVTT and P.O meds including the starting doses. Its purposes and nursing responsibilities were properly observed. This was carried out by the staff assigned to it.

This was the charges nurse duty. They were able to do the sample charting indicating their interventions to their patients. After making some corrections of the sample charting of my staff, I handed it to our C.I for final corrections to be transferred on the chart. The sample charting of my staff was checked also by our clinical instructor for additional inputs and corrections. Since it was checked already, it was ready for documentation with no errors in it. Three checks were followed for the preparation of meds. Latest vital signs were obtained. This also includes the I&O monitoring sheets. It was plotted in the chart for documentation. My staff nurses signed for the closing of charts especially in their assigned task. I was able to endorse my patients to my clinical instructor and obtained her signature for the final closing of charts. I endorsed my 4 patients to the staff nurse on duty indicating the things my staff and I did. I was able to thank my staff for their cooperation and
