To whom it may concern: My name is Christopher Kelly, and I am a member of the White Station High School Robotics Team.

We will soon be participating in the B.E.S.T. (Boosting Engineering Science and Technology) Robotics State Competition at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. In this competition, our team is given exactly six weeks to design, develop, build, and program a fully functional robot from a kit of raw materials. Then, we must market and present our robot to a strict panel of judges at the competition. In order to compete, we must raise enough money to cover the costs such as building materials and transportation costs. In our beginning as White Stations first robotics team, we were merely a group of students passionate about robotics. We built small programmable robots using the NXT system and competed in an inter-school competition, Botball, in which we won first place. Since then, the group has grown and expanded into a diverse and educated team of high school students. We now boast the addition of several freshman and sophomores to our team of juniors and seniors from Africa, India, England, and many other cultural backgrounds. In the 2009 B.E.S.T. Competition, we were awarded the Outstanding Small School Team honor, and, in 2010, we improved so much that we placed in the top four for the robotics division. This allowed us to advance to the regional competition in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The White Station Robotics and Programming Club provides opportunities for students of all cultural backgrounds, ages, and sex. Our goal is to provide fellow students with experience in computer science, robotics, and engineering through exciting, challenging competitions and to build confidence and leadership abilities in our team members. To be able to attend the state competition in Jonesboro, we must raise at least $700. We ask for any support* that you can provide us. In addition to helping us compete, your company name will be listed on our website, be presented to the judges in our marketing presentation, be advertised on our Robotics T-Shirts that we will wear at the competition, and be promoted by the B.E.S.T. Robotics competition hub. Thank you for your support in our endeavors to compete at the State B.E.S.T. Robotics Competition! Sincerely, Christopher Kelly Team Co-President White Station High School 514 South Perkins Road Memphis, TN 38117
