1. Since when have you started adopting the Hijaab? Used to wear to school during A-levels, only, prior to that I did not wear. Started continuously from 2 years. 2. Before you adopted it, was it a product/practice you consciously thought of? Knew that I might have to, but never thought too much about it. 3. How did you look at Hijaabis before you adopted the Hijaab? I used to find it surprising, they were to sacrifice so much, because, most people did it on their own. Especially young girls used to amaze me, because I thought how come they dont want to dress up when they are with their friends. Never thought I could do it. 4. Apart from the religious aspect, what other factor motivates you to wear the Hijaab? I know lot of people, whose parents are very supportive about daughters going out and gaining education since they found it more safe and families favours you more. 5. Did you start with the determination to continue or did you start with the let me see how long I can attitude? In the early days, I wasnt confident, so it was on and off. I wasnt comfortable around friends. I didnt want to make any religious statement. Then few of my friends started and it made it easier. I didnt feel left out any more. I was looking nice also. 6. Do the members of your immediate family (mother/sister) wear it as well? No. 7. How supportive/unsupportive has your immediate family members been, about your adoption of the Hijaab? They have been very very supportive. 8. Do you give equal effort to buying/wearing your Hijaab, as you would with other items of clothing? I think I put in more effort, because its substituting a lot of other things. High range of scarfs. 9. (Assuming) if the religious bar was removed, do you think you would take the Hijaab off? Yes, I would take it off 10. Would you say your life has changed post hijaab? If so, mention few ways it has. Parents trust me more. Didnt have enough freedom

Parents questioned my choice of friends. Lifestyle hasnt changed much, because even before, I led a reasonably decent life 11. Where do you usually shop for Hijaabs, considering, there arent too many shops in Dhaka. Normally online. I go to Pakistan and UAE a lot Would you say you spend similar amount of money on Hijaab, as you do for other items of clothing? I spend more. One of the accessories my dad doesnt mind paying for. How important is branding for you in the context of Hijaab purchase Not important in BD, cos people may not realize, but I do buy when I like. How involved are you with the shopping and draping of Hijaab-please give details. Always on youtube, looking up new styles, highly involved. What changes would you like to see in the business/fashion arena of Bangladesh, with regards to Hijaab? Not as widespread. Not up-to-date with fashion. No accessories, caps and stuff. We need more variety. I dont mind upmarket franchises to open. Thats going to inspire others. Does the wearing of the Hijaab change your perception of Non-Hijaabis. Not really. No judgment, my mom doesnt wear it. How would you react, if Hijaab was made mandatory in Bangladesh, BUT BLACK? Thats not right, I dont want it to be imposed. Its my choice. Exposure to media and adoption by friends
