Alternative Option to DC Electric Fastening Systems

If your process relies heavily on assembly and torque accuracy, you have probably looked into the DC electric fastening systems that work hand in hand with controllers and computer software to ensure accurate rundowns, proper torque range, provide records of tool history and an array of other features. You have probably also noticed that the guaranteed quality that they offer might not fit into your budget at the moment. We want to make you aware of a couple alternative options to DC systems that offer similar features and could be a great substitute for your application.

Intelligent Air Tools

Yes, you read that right... the term intelligent tooling does not strictly apply to high-end DC electric controller systems. The Stanley PSI-C allows many of the same features as DC electric tooling, but works with pneumatic tools like impact, pulse and gear driven tools. Now before you jump to either side of the fence, keep in mind that there is some give and take between the two options, and the best product for your process lies within your assembly requirements. If you dont like the idea of fixturizing large DC tools, or do not have the need for the extensive rundown information that DC systems provide, the Stanley PSI family may be something you want to look into. The Stanley PSI-C controller works with 4 types of Stanley tool types designed to cover a wide range of application requirements. These tools cover pulse, impact, and gear driven tools ranging from 3to 3,000 Nm and beyond. Also, upon cycle completion, a bright Green or RED light will illuminate the work piece to indicate whether or not the fastener was run correctly. We invite you to meet with one of our knowledgeable sales representatives to discuss your application and see if the PSI family could be your solution!

AP Pin Clutch Impact Tools

-Internal Torque Transducer -Hard to Medium Joints -Light to Medium Duty Cycles -Virtutally NO torque Reaction

Heavy-Duty AT Impact Tools

AH & AM Pulse Tools

-Internal Torque Transducer -Hydraulic and Mechanical pulse options. -Most intense joints and Duty Cycles -Great Power to Weight Ratio -Very Low Maintenance

Angle Control AM/A Pulse Tools

-Internal Torque Transducer -Most Intense Joints and Duty Cycles -An Industry First Absolute Position Sensor enabling angle control and Monitoring. -Great Power to Weight Ratio

Still Too Much?

The Stanley PSI-Q (Qualifying version) offers the same Red/Green notification lights to alert the operator of fastening errors and can hook up to ANY pneumatic tool, meaning this system will work for the pneumatic tools you currently have on your line! The PSI-Q can notify the operator of:
-Re-hits of a pre-tightened fastener -Cross-Thread of fasteners into mating threads -Slip-off (or cam out) of the socket or screwdriver bit from the fastener head before fastening to final torque. -Short cycle by the operator prior to fastening to final torque.
