Studies on the synthesis and formation mechanism of zirconia nanopowder prepared by mechanochemical method from a dry powder mixture of anhydrous ZrCl4 and CaO have been carried out. According to our results, ZrCl4 hydrolyses during the heating stage while CaO adsorbs the produced HCl forming CaClOH and CaCl2 subsequently. Heat treatment of Zr(OH)4 resulted in the production of zirconia (ZrO2). Based on Rietveld refinement it has been shown that an average critical crystallite size around 46 nm exists above which tetragonal zirconia (t-ZrO2) transforms to monoclinic zirconia (m-ZrO2). A nanostructured powder with a uniform distribution of the Ni and Cu powders was produced by means of the ball mechanical alloying treatment (BMAT). Mutual diffusion of Ni and Cu in the nanostructured layer and the microstructure of the cross section of the remaining powders were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA). The significantly accelerated diffusion rates are expected to be associated with the non-equilibrium states of interfaces in the nanostructured surface layer induced by the ball mechanical alloying treatment (BMAT). X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that increasing the milling time gives rise to decreasing the crystallite size and lattice parameter during the MA process. Furthermore, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was utilized not only for evaluating the morphology and microstructure of the remaining powder particles but also for proving this claim that during MA process, the mutual diffusion of Ni and Cu has occurred. Elemental mappings also show that the alloying process occurred in samples but obtaining the uniform shape, size and microstructure of the powder requires the increasing of the milling time. The adsorption behavior and micellar properties mixed binary ionic/ionic surfactants containing cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in aqueous mixture of ethylene glycol (EG) have been investigated by surface tension, conductometry, pulsed field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance, transmission electron microscopy, and cyclic voltammetry measurements. Co-solvent effects on the interactions between the two surfactants CTAB and SDS were analyzed on the basis of regular solution theory, both for mixed monolayers at the air/liquid interface () and for mixed micelles (M). It was shown that an excess of cationic surfactant resulted in the formation of nonspherical vesicles. These were predominantly nanorod vesicles in water_EG mixed solvents. The interparticle interactions were assessed in terms of cosolvent effects on the micellar surface charge density, the sphere-to-rod morphology change, and the phase transition from vesicles to mixed micelles. Moreover, the variation of the repulsive electrostatic potential energy between two pairs of aggregates was investigated for two modes of nanostructural transition, namely the transition between spherical and rod-like micelles and the transition between rod-like micelles and nanorod vesicles. Some issues such as tunneling, leakage currents and light atom penetration through the film are threatening the ultra thin SiO2 be as a good dielectric for industrial and electron device and in ceramic technologies. The zirconium lanthanum oxides nanoparticles prepared by a solgel method. Sol-gel solutions of with Zr atomic fractions of x=0.05 and 0.5 were synthesized. Nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Keywords: High-k; dielectric; Sol-gel; Zirconium-doped lanthanum oxide SYN 183

In this work, Nickel sulfide nanoparticles powder was synthesized in AlMCM-41 molecular sieve by using ion exchange method. Sample was irradiated by Am-Be neutron source up to fluencies (7.9*109 n cm2 ) to study neutron radiation effect on physical properties of prepared nanoparticles .The sample was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) techniques. The results show that in the neutron irradiated sample, nanoparticle size
