Grade 8 Photoshop Movie Poster Project

Your first draft of your poster is due by Monday, December 10th. Final Draft is due by Monday, January 14th. Export as pdf, name it yourname_draft, or yourname_final. Put all draft and final copies in your folder on the server. You may make up your own movie, or do a remake of an existing movie.

Required elements include:


Must be 11 x 17 portrait, must include images of at least 3 members of the 8th grade class, appropriate use of background fill, use of blending, selections and compositing. Title must be clearly visible, as well as the names of the "stars", the producer (you) and the studio. All images must be student created or cited (CC or public domain).

Use of Class Time

Used time well during each class period. Focused on getting the project done. Never distracted others. Graphics are all in focus and the content easily viewed and identified from 6 ft. away. Several of the graphics used on the poster reflect a exceptional degree of student creativity in their creation and/or display. The poster is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, and neatness. Title can be read from 6 ft. away and is quite creative.

Most graphics are in focus and the content easily viewed and identified from 6 ft. away. One or two of the graphics used on the poster reflect student creativity in their creation and/or display. The poster is attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness. Title can be read from 6 ft. away and describes content well. All required elements are included on the poster.

Used some of the time well during each class period. There was some focus on getting the project done but occasionally distracted others. Most graphics are in focus and the content is easily viewed and identified from 4 ft. away. The graphics are made by the student, but are based on the designs or ideas of others. The poster is acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy. Title can be read from 4 ft. away and describes the content well. All but 1 of the required elements are included on the poster.

Did not use class time to focus on the project OR often distracted others.

Attractiveness

The poster is distractingly messy or very poorly designed. It is not attractive. The title is too small and/or does not describe the content of the poster well.
