COURSE DESCRIPTION Over the last 10 years FPGA Technology has advanced to the stage where in excess of 1 million logic gates can be integrated over the same device. Verilog is a standard Hardware Description language used for the design and simulation of digital Systems which can be synthesized for implementation on an FPGA. Institute of Avionics and Aeronautics is arranging a short course including a hands-on component that will provide the participants an opportunity to develop digital design circuits using Verilog HDL on Spartan Series of Xilinx FPGA, using Xilinx Synthesis Tools. This short course will be spread over 2 weeks (10 days) with classes from 15:30 to 17:30 hrs. COURSE DURATION : July 05-16 , 2010 INSTRUCTOR: Dr. Muhammad Akmal Butt & Mr. Waqar Shahid Qureshi Dr. Muhammad Akmal Butt got his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech, USA in 1998. He has held academic positions at LUMS, FAST-NU, and UET, Lahore. He also has extensive experience in real-time implementation of Digital Signal Processing algorithms on different hardware platforms. Mr. Waqar Shahid Qureshi got his M.Sc in Computer Engineering from CASE in 2007. For the past two years he been an instructor of DLD and FPGA Based Design at AU. He has 5 years experience of FPGA based Embedded Systems Design in an R&D Organization .
