RELAY FOR LIFE

PBC TEAM 2013
Great community spirit - raising funds for cancer research!

Dear Portland Baptist,

I want to thank you for your prayers, calls, emails, and cards while I had this temporary health setback. I am at home now (after almost a month in hospital) and the doctors are confident they have addressed my infection and circulatory issues. Your care for our family is still overwhelming! You are truly a caring and supportive Body of Christ. We continue to uplift you in our prayers and congrats on the success of a wonderfully sunny Upwelling Festival! With love, Michael Drennan

Debbie Oakley has registered Portland Baptist Church team online at Relay For Life Portland Vic Event. Anyone who wants to register can do so online and search for Portland Baptist Church Team. People may like to set up a fundraising target for themselves to add to the team target; they can even post on Facebook, so their friends can support them. e.g. if we get a team of 20 people on our team and our team aims to raise $1,000, each person could aim for $50.00 or an amount they choose above that, which might be an easy way to raise funds without having to organise a major fundraiser. More information about the Relay when available.

NEW DIRECTORY OUT TODAY!

Its finally here! Your copy of the much-anticipated 2012 church contact directory is available from the church foyer from today. Each family has their own labelled copy. You can collect yours over the next two weeks from the table, following that they will be placed in the alphabetised pigeon holes for collection by those not received by next week. If you require more than one copy, please see Jolene. Thanks for your patience!

Celebrating Christmas with the Portland Citizens Brass Band

Friday 21st December - 7:30pm at Portland Baptist Church
Come and enjoy a traditional Christmas programme with music provided by the Portland Citizens Brass Band and Aquarelle singers, followed by supper downstairs. Invite friends and neighbours to come and enjoy a time of carol singing and music in a comfortable environment. As we hope to have plenty of outsiders along it would be very much appreciated if PBC regulars could bring a plate of supper to share afterwards. (There are about 25 band members). This is not intended as competition for the town carols, but another option for those who arent able to get to that event - and an extra opportunity for everyone to soak up the sounds of Christmas!
