Scaling up: going national (1) Design national framework for green freight
Green Freight China Program was initiated by CAI-Asia with support from an Energy Foundation grant Aim: establish a national program to improve fuel efficiency, reduce fuel costs and greenhouse gases and air pollution
Builds on 12th FYP and existing efforts in China Fill gaps: policy, institutional, stakeholder cooperation Can be used as a model for other developing countries in Asia

Scaling up: going national (3) CGFI -1st National GF Program in Asia

China Green Freight Initiative Launched on 18 April 2012 in Beijing, China. 1. Green freight and logistics: critical for a green economy 2. Avoid first: Avoid-Shift and Improve all are essential, but avoid is most important, need to bring in supply chain management (both procurement and distribution) 3. Co-benefits: Significant potential for fuel efficiency, fuel costs and emissions reductions 4. Regional coordination can ensure consistency between programs
