Description of work : Report on feasibility to transport the pressure shaft steel liners in the existing adits . Date of servey made : 23.11.2012. Size of the consignment to be transported : 6680 mm dia x 2500 mm width. Mode of transport : Through 2516 truck ( 10 Tyre truck ) Required tunnel size for transportation : 8000 mm D Shape tunnel. Approach to Upper PAC & Upper Horizontal Portion Although the tunnel size is meeting the requirement, the size of the tunnel is minimized due to the Link Adit-1-3 (Way to pipelines(Fire fighting & Cooling water) laid on both the HRT 3&4) sides of the tunnel also two ventilation ducts have been installed in the overhead. Hence, transporting the steel liners through this adit is not possible. Either the transportation shall be carried out through some other adjoing tunnel or the installed ventilation ducts and pipe lines has to be dismantelled.
