Computer
Provides all risks cover for all types of computer equipment. The policy may be extended to include increased cost of working incurred to minimise disruption to the work normally carried out by the computers and the cost of reinstating lost data. Costs incurred following failure of electricity or telecommunications and data loss caused by a breakdown, virus attack or hacking are included in the wording. Portable computer equipment may be included on a worldwide basis. (e.g. Computers used for production, design, stock control, data processing, payroll, management information, personnel data, document production)

Plant (Owned and/or Hired-in)

Owned Plant provides all risks cover on all types of plant owned by the insured either on a specified item basis or on a blanket schedule. Hired-in Plant provides cover for a clients legal liability under the hire agreement to compensate the hiring company for loss or damage to the hired plant plus continuing hire charges until the item is repaired or replaced. (e.g. mobile plant such as accommodation, cranes, fork-lift trucks, generators, mobile elevating work platforms either owned or hired-in).

Machinery movement
Provides a exible operations cover against damage during specified operations such as dismantling, erection, lifting, lowering, transit and re-siting of plant and machinery. (e.g. following the purchase of a new machine or major machine part cover can be required for the unloading and movement into position on site or for a machine which is being moved from one part of the premises to a different area within the same site)

Electronic Equipment
Provides all risks cover, including breakdown, for many types of low and medium power electrical equipment. Cover can apply to static, installed equipment or portable equipment on a UK or Worldwide basis. (e.g. measurement process engineering/research equipment, testing equipment, sound and picture equipment and audiovisual learning systems)

Machinery sudden and unforeseen damage/Machinery loss of profits

These policies provide cover for breakdown or accidental damage (cover can be restricted to breakdown only) to machinery and loss of gross profit as a result of the stoppage. These policies usually apply to installed plant and machinery and are designed to dovetail with the property program. Whilst property perils such as fire and storm are always prevalent when considering insurance requirements, breakdown and the resultant cost of lost production are often overlooked. (e.g. Process machinery containing major components which can be extremely costly to repair or replace and may stop production for a a prolonged period)

Contract works machinery

Provides all risks protection for machinery or production lines during their installation including transit to or from the contract site (other than by sea or air). Cover extends to include breakdown of new machinery during and up to 28 days testing and commissioning. Cover can be arranged on an annual or project specific basis. (e.g. installation of a single machine or piece of plant to the complete installation of all plant and machinery within a new building)

Contract works construction

Provides all risks cover for contract works and materials for building or infrastructure projects. Contract conditions can be drawn up with obligations to insure imposed upon the principal/ employer not the contractor. Cover for principals is normally linked to a single project, but some larger businesses may take out annual insurance to protect all building works being carried out. (e.g. extension or refurbishment to an existing building or construction of a new building)

Plant protection
Provides insurance for plant inspected under a Zurich inspection contract, where cover may include breakdown, accidental damage, explosion & collapse. Optional extensions include reinstatement, lifted goods, own surrounding property and loss of storage tanks contents including the cost of cleaning up. (e.g. boilers, air receivers, lifts, cranes, fork lift trucks)
