27th November 2012 Dear Parent/Carer Please find overleaf details of the Year 11 Mock Exam Timetable for

December 2012. Please be aware that there will be no study leave, so when students are not in exams they will be in their normal lessons and each day of the exams will run as normal from 8.30am 3pm. These exams are the last trial run before our students sit their GCSEs, so it is important that they take them seriously and revise thoroughly. Only then will we know what issues we need to address in the New Year such as poor exam technique, understanding the command words used by exam boards and getting the timing right etc. It is important that they revise properly for the exams, otherwise we learn very little about them and they learn very little about themselves with regard to exam performance. Therefore please try and monitor that your son/daughter revises properly over the next few weeks so that the experience is more meaningful. Yours sincerely

ALL pupils when not doing an exam should be in normal lessons. Exams should be started by subject leader or teacher. If an exam finishes earlier than session end pupils should return to the classroom as per normal timetable until the end of the school day.

All pupils should register at the beginning and end of the day with their tutors.
