Introduction
The brand "Mufti" stands for cutting edge fashion in casual wear, with a focus on shirts , jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters and jackets. It is currently available across India in 185 Exclusive stores and 950 multi brand stores, with 41 outlets in Shoppers stop, 69 outlets in Westside, 20 in Globus, 13 in Maya & 8 in Central. The brand was launched in1998 by Credo Brands Marketing Pvt. Ltd., under Mr. Kamal Khushlanis guidance and leadership.

Origins of the Brand "Mufti"


The origins of this brand go back to 1992 when a label called Mr. Mister, under Kamal Khushlani, started manufacturing mens clothing. Innovation was the core strength of this fledgling brand. The brand appointed business partners all over India to spread its network. The response was overwhelming. Realizing its true potential, and that of the market, 1998 saw the launch of MUFTI- fashion much in advance of retail expectations.

Origins of the word "Mufti"


MUFTI is a term used for casual dressing, as opposed to wearing a uniform, derived from colonial Indias armed forces.

Mufti carries out its business through franchisee as well EBO owned by the company itself. Presently they are having 185 outlets spread over different part of the country.

Their technical support team offers friendly, high-quality, responsive technical support to licensed users of their products. An annual maintenance contract is available for purchase to owners of licensed GINESYS products. GINESYS offer two kinds of support to its customers:

Product support: The product support services offers telephonic and web support
through our skilled staff of technical analysts for problem resolution and bug reporting.

Update Services: The update service provides the client with the right to product updates
and maintenance releases and patches released during the subscription period. To deliver this support, Ginesys have R&D team based out of Kolkata, supported by their dedicated technical service centres in Kolkata and New Delhi. They are soon to start their technical service centres in Mumbai and Chennai as well.

Pre Implementation Stage


Before Ginesys, MUFTI was having some local software installed in their outlets. The basic problem with the software was data synchronization and data discrepancy. The company was looking for a solution that would bring all of its businesses and processes together in a synchronized way. MUFTI wanted a cost effective solution which is easy to implement with smooth operation and data synchronization with effective MIS. Apart from that they were having some specific requirement which need to be mapped with GINESYS. Implementing all these requirements in a short span of time was a major challenge for GINESYS.

Challenge Faced Before Implementation:


The prime challenge for Ginesys implementation team was to carry out the system according to the need or desire of MUFTI management .They wanted a customize Retail ERP solution to control their outlets located at different cities. Some of the key areas were mapping their sales process with correct tax parameters and Stock Transfer to EBO.

Implementation Stage
During the implementation they have to understand the traditional internal processes of MUFTI to implement the project successfully without any help from Mufti IT team. The lack of skilled IT professionals at the backend of MUFTI causes the major hindrance during implementation process. Another problem was the new data that was uploaded every day because the working of the company could not be stopped and coping with that data created the major hindrance. Also the reforms in the government policy and the changing trends in the market need to be updated from time to time.

Reason for Choosing Ginesys:


According to Habir Singh Sidhu, Director(MUFTI), Ginesys is a good Retail ERP solution because it facilitates the whole process of their business right from manufacturing to retail. It really helped them to solving a number of operational challenges.

Money Invested By the Company In ERP Implementation:


According to the sources, about 50-60 lacs was invested by the Credo Brand Marketing Pvt. Ltd. to implement Ginesys in Mufti.

Time Duration
According to sources, approximately 1 year and 6 months were taken by the GINESYS to successfully implement the software in MUFTI.

Post Implementation Stage:


After implementing Ginesys in Mufti, they faced many challenges such as: As the employees were not familiar with the ERP system, so they were needed to be trained which required time and money. In the initial stage, there was delay in work due to lack of knowledge of ERP in employees. Employees needed to be updated with ERP processes due to modification in ERP module and government policies. Modules are needed to be modified if there is any change in the internal process of company.
