Semester Breakdown: 1st Quarter Grade 40% 2nd Quarter Grade 40% Semester Final 20% Late Work will be accepted up to each grading period (4 Weeks). Will receive reduced credit (60% at best) Assignments Your assignments will consist of Daily Work (i.e. questions, writing assignments, timeline activities, etc.) Notes and Projects. ALL ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE GRADED ON A 10 POINT SCALE. SEE THE RUBRIC ON THE LAST PAGE!!! Employability Points As a student your job is to be in class, participate and to learn. Because of this you will receive credit for simply doing your job well. On top of that you will receive less credit for not fulfilling the expectations of your job (may as well get used to this). Being absent or tardy, sleeping, doing nothing, and forgetting required supplies will all result in a loss of ALL FIVE of your employability points. In todays society cell phones, laptops, and other technology devices are important for daily work, we will use both of these items in this class, and however, they need to be used appropriately. Inappropriate use of technology in the workplace can lead to termination. In this class it will lead to a loss of a WEEKS WORTH (25 POINTS) of employability points. Appropriate use of cell phone is to only have it out when asked to do so, the laptops should be used for class work only. If there is extra time in class it may be used for entertainment, this will be allowed at the discretion of the classroom teacher. Tests/Quizzes Tests will occur at the end of units and will be in the form of essay/short answer questions. Each question will be graded on the 10-point scale. You will be allowed to use your notes from class on each test. They will be announced at least three days prior. Test will not be retaken for a higher grade. If you miss a test, you will have one week to make it up. Quizzes will take place throughout each unit. They will be announced at least one day prior. Will be graded on total points, usually multiple choice, matching, fill in the blank, true/false, etc.
