i) For calling a Gatelcabin to give instructions about the Train, Station ASM will lifl the Handset of Master Telephone and press the pre defined number ofthe Gatelcabin and listen to the Ring Back Tone (RBT) . In case RBT is heard, this will indicate that the Buzzer is positively ringing at the Gatelcabin. l f no RBT is heard after calling, the same number shall be pressed again. In case there is no RRT, it will indicate that the Bu7zer is not ringing at the called Gatelcabin due to failure of the Gatelcabin telephone or line is disconnected. ii) After the Gateman I Cabin has liffed the handset, necessary instructions regarding the train moment shall be conveyed. The Instructions regarding movement of U P I D O W Train shall also be conveyed. If an UP train movement is involved, the Station A S M shall verbally instmct the Gateman I Cabin accordingly and then press the * (UP) key on Master telephone. As soori as this key is pressed, the red LED provided besides this key glows and stays ON. The Gaternad Cabin is advised by the Station ASM to acknowledge this information by pressing * (UP) key on Gatelcabin telephone. The Gaternadcabin will then press the * (UP) key on GatdCabin telephone. By pressing this key red LED in the Master telephone will turn OFF proving that Gatemaflabin has understood the instruction correctly. If the Gaternadcabin presses the wrong key, red LED inclication will not turn OFF indicating that GatemanICabin has not understood the instruction correctly and the Gate shall be re-advised to press the correct acknowtedgernent key. The same procedure will be followed for movement o f DOWN Trains except that in this case, #

(DN) shall be used instead of the*(UP) key. key

iii) If no train movement is involved, the Station ASM and !lie GatemanJCabin need not initiate any acknowledgement action and *(UP) or #(DN) key shall not be pressed at the end of the conversation.
