Imports: CIF, by origin

Exports: FOB, by sale

Trade System: Special

Overview:
From 2007 to 2011, Israel's exports increased on average by 5.8 percent each year and reached its peak of 67.8 bln US$ in 2011 (see table 1
and graph 1). Similarly, imports increased on average by 6.8 percent each year and reached 73.5 bln US$ (see table 2 and graph 1). This
resulted in a trade deficit of 5.7 bln US$ in 2011, much higher than the 0.8 bln US$ deficit in 2010 (see graph 1). By MDG regions, trade with
Developed North America recorded a surplus of 11.1 bln US$ (see graph 2). However, trade recorded a deficit amounting to 9.8 bln US$ with
Developed Europe. Israel's trade was diversified across partners: in 2011, 17 (respectively 14) major partners accounted for 80 percent of
exports (respectively imports) (see graph 3).

Exports Profile:
In 2011, exports were composed of 35.9 percent of manufactured goods classified
chiefly by material (SITC section 6), 27.6 percent of chemicals and related products,
n.e.s. (SITC section 5) and 22.3 percent of machinery and transport equipment (SITC
section 7) (see table 1). In addition to the USA, other major partners for exports in
2011 included China, Hong Kong SAR and Belgium (see table 4). Exports to these
countries were in majority manufactured goods classified chiefly by material (SITC
section 6). From 2009 to 2011, top commodities for exports were diamonds, whether
or not worked, but not mounted or set (HS code 7102), medicaments (excluding goods
of heading 30.02, 30.05 or 30.06) (HS code 3004) and electronic integrated circuits
(HS code 8542) (see table 3).
