POLICY INITIATIVE

NA Tribal purpose to build capacity for new & existing tribal programs to provide best practice approaches & services to meet the Peoples needs and to develop a holistic therapeutic community approach at Wind River as a way to address substance use and addictions and promote healing.

INTEGRATION

Cross-walking cultural practices with national practices in promotion of healing, wellness Eliminating service and funding silos Health and Wellness as a responsibility of all not just of a series of agencies.

Vision-NA ICMI

Insuring Quality Life and Capacity Building is at the heart of the Northern Arapaho Indian Country Meth Initiative. The ICMI System of WORKS, has built capacity for new and existing tribal programs aimed at creation of a therapeutic community to address the consequences of addictions and substance abuse among our tribal members.

PRACTICES

The Northern Arapaho Tribes Meth and Suicide Prevention project braids Indian Health Service resources with other Indian Country Meth Initiative Works to provides an outstanding results - no completed teen suicides on the reservation for the past seven years. This effective framework of promising practices and evidence-based programming is building a therapeutic community for the Northern Arapaho people.

Ojibwa Ne-i-yah-w Initiative A Culture-based Approach to Community Healing

Prevention and intervention regarding substance abuse with an emphasis on the Cree and Ojibwa way of life which is centered by the mind, the emotions, the physical body, and the spiritual being. Coordination of traditional health services, developing culture based programs, and strengthening cultural identity are all part of the Ojibwa Ne-i-yah-w Initiative.
