A DESERT LAND Arabian Peninsula is mostly a hot and dry dessert land. Scorching temperatures and a lake of H2O make life difficult. Arabias location, physical features, and climate have shaped life in the region. A Crossroads Location
The Arabian Peninsula is located in the southwest corner of Asia. it lies near the intersection of three continents
Physical Features Physical features were like curtain things in the oasis. An oasis is a wet area in the dessert. There is also sand dunes or hills of sand shaped by the wing the can be up to 80 ft. high.
Desert Climate In the dessert it was very hot the temperature reached up to 100f daily.
TWO WAYS OF LIFE Some people lived a nomadic life, moving from place to place. Others lived a sedentary, or settled, life in towns. Nomads Nomads were people that lived in tents and raised sheep, goats, and camels the animals like goats provided milk, meat, and skins. Townspeople Towns people were just people that settled in the town and made farms .they also traded and settled there and just lived in the hot just sitting there or in the farm.
Trade Centers (p. 56-58!) There were stores called the bazar and people and they would go there and trade things for different ones and thay would trade things like,spices ,gold, leather and animal products.
Steps:
Use at least 4-5 facts from your Ch 3.1 Geography and Life in Arabia handout. Include a picture that relates to a piece of information from the worksheet.

Determine a persona (trader, nomad, townsperson...). 3. Determine who you are writing to ... 4. Think about how the facts you chose could be communicated creatively in describing events or circumstances in your life. 5. Write the letter (about 2-3 paragraphs), and draw the picture!
