Orthopedics (TCM)
Students learn to differentiate TCM patterns for disorders of the locomotor system including bones, muscles, joints and all related tissues. Acupuncture point combinations for each pattern diagnosis are presented and discussed. Neuroscience 1 (IAM/TCM)
An in-depth examination of the nervous system. (24 hrs 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Anatomy/Physiology 4 Mondays 10:30am 12:30pm January 7 to March 18

Nutrition 1 (NHSc/RMT/SPA)
An overview of both the digestive process and individual essential nutrients (vitamins, minerals, amino acids). (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Mondays 1:15 3:15pm January 7 to March 18

Client Assessment 2-3 (IAM)


Students evolve their client assessment knowledge and skills acquired in unit 1. (48 hrs) Pre-requisite: Client Assessment 1 & Anatomy/Physiology 4 Mondays 1:15 5:15pm January 7 to March 18

Senior Needling Lab (TCM)


Senior students evolve their needling skills via this primarily hands-on course. Students are guided by faculty to needle numerous combinations of acupuncture points. In this course, students learn to read, pronounce and understand Pin Yin & Chinese characters for acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine purposes. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Mondays 6:00 8:00pm January 7 to March 18

Anatomy/Physiology 3 (All)
An introduction to the study of blood & the cardiovascular, urinary, respiratory & integumentary systems. (24 hrs - 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Anatomy/Physiology 2 Mondays 6:00 8:00pm January 7 to March 18

TCM Dermatology / 5 Senses


Students learn to differentiate TCM patterns for disorders of the ears, eyes, nose, throat, mouth and skin. Acupuncture point combinations for each pattern diagnosis, are presented and discussed. First Aid (All)

Remedial Exercise 2 (IAM)


Students learn the principles and practice of aerobic and resistance exercises. (24 hrs - 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Remedial Exercise 1 Tuesdays 10:30am 12:30pm January 8 to March 19

Materia Medica 1 (TCM)


In this first of two modules, students begin to learn about individual Chinese herbs and their uses. (24 hrs 1 unit) Pre-requisite: TCM Diagnosis (or in progress) Tuesdays 10:30am 12:30pm January 8 to March 19

Tuina 1 (TCM)
Students evolve a basic understanding of Tuina techniques. The use of Tuina to treat common pain-related ailments is also presented and discussed. (24 hrs- 1 unit) Pre-requisite: TCM Diagnosis (or in progress) Tuesdays 1:15 5:15pm January 8 to February 5

Tuina 2 (TCM)
Students learn to complete a full-body treatment, facial massage and self-massage using Tuina. It's principles as a TCM treatment modality are also presented and discussed. (24 hrs 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Tuina 1 Tuesdays 1:15 5:15pm February 12 to March 19

On-Site Clinical Case Study 2 (IAM)


Each student evolves and applies a treatment plan. A detailed progress report is prepared for 3 months. (48 hrs) Pre-requisite: On-Site Clinic Supervisor Approval Tuesdays 1:15 5:15pm January 8 to March 19

Off-Sites (2nd Semester) (IAM)


Practice massage skills acquired in-class, in a variety of public settings. (48 hrs) Pre-requisite: Massage 4 & Anatomy/Physiology 4 Tuesdays 1:15 5:15pm January 8 to March 19

Acupuncture Point Location 2 (TCM)


Students learn to locate approximately 50% of the bodys acupuncture points. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Tuesdays 6:00 8:00pm January 8 to March 19

Anatomy/Physiology 1 (All)
Introduction to the structure & function of the body. Study of tissues, organs, skeletal and muscular systems. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Tuesdays 6:00 8:00pm January 8 to March 19

Reflexology 1 (NHSc/SPA)
Learn the principles, theory & practice of Reflexology. Learn zones of the foot & specific reflexes for the major organs & glands. Hands-on experience. This program is facilitated by the founder of the Reflexology Association of Canada. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Tuesdays 6:00 10:00pm January 8 to February 5

Reflexology 2 (NHSc/SPA)
Review and learn new techniques with new connections. Study of body systems, glands, organs and their reflex points. Hand reflexology, anatomy of the feet and hands, foot baths. The Italian method of treatment. The professional aspects of operating a clinic. (24 hrs - 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Reflexology 1 Tuesdays 6:00 10:00pm February 12 to March 19

Acupressure 1 (NHSc/SPA)
An introduction to acupressure techniques and benefits. The student will learn hand positions and movements, pressure and timing. The Oriental concepts of Yin/Yang and Chi will be presented. Learn a basic, full-system treatment. (24 hrs 1 unit) No pre-requisite Tuesdays 8:00 - 10:00pm January 8 to March 19

An in-depth look at the respiratory system and further investigation of the renal, endocrine and reproductive systems. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: Physiology 7 Wednesdays 8:30 10:30am January 2 to March 20

Anatomy 5 (IAM/TCM/SPA)
An in-depth study of the skeletal system. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: Anatomy/Physiology 4 Wednesdays 8:30 10:30am January 2 to March 20

Internal Medicine (TCM)


Students learn to differentiate TCM patterns for disorders of the 4 Yin organs. Acupuncture point combinations for each pattern diagnosis are presented and discussed. (24 hrs 1 unit) Pre-requisite: TCM Diagnosis (or in progress) Wednesdays 8:30 10:30am January 2 to March 20

Modern Mental Diseases (TCM)


Students learn to differentiate TCM patterns for mental and emotional disorders. Acupuncture point combinations for each pattern diagnosis are presented and discussed. (24 hrs 1 unit) Pre-requisite: TCM Diagnosis (or in progress) Wednesdays 10:30am 12:30pm January 2 to March 20

Physiology 5 (IAM/TCM)
The study of the human body on a chemical and cellular level. (24 hrs 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Anatomy/Physiology 4 Wednesdays 10:30am 12:30pm January 2 to March 20

An in-depth study of the upper extremity muscles. (24 hrs - 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Myology 2 Wednesdays 1:15 3:15pm January 2 to March 20

Research 1 (All)
Learn to find and assess health-related research. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Wednesdays 3:15 5:15pm January 2 to March 20

Nutrition 2 (NHSc/SPA/TCMP)
This dynamic ride of your life course guides you towards taking a positive approach to daily food requirements. Evolve your understanding of pH balance, food and non-fanatical healthy living. The teacher has been honored with several international awards (most recently the Queens Diamond Jubilee Award) and was nominated as a top health educator in Canada. Herbal Therapeutics 1 (NHSc)

External Diseases (TCM)


Students learn to differentiate TCM patterns for sexually transmitted diseases and proctology disorders, as well as external skin disorders. Appropriate acupuncture point combinations for each pattern diagnosis are presented and discussed. (24 hrs 1 unit) Pre-requisite: TCM Diagnosis (or in progress) Thursdays 1:15 3:15pm January 3 to March 21

On-Site Clinical Case Study 1 (IAM)

Students learn to differentiate TCM patterns for pain located in various parts of the body. Acupuncture point combinations for each pattern diagnosis are presented and discussed. Massage 3 (RMT/SPA)
Expand knowledge and skills acquired in Massage 2. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: Massage 2 February 2, 3, 16, 17

Cranio-Sacral Therapy (NHSc)


Students will be introduced to the structure and function of the cranio-sacral system. Learn how to palpate the cerebrospinal fluid movement within that system, to assess and treat using the 10-step protocol developed by Dr. John Upledger. (24 hours 1 unit) No pre-requisite February 9, 10, 23, 24
