Task 4 Here are some examples of Q magazine Front cover

All the Q magazine front overs are attractive, and unique to the individual artist and their music genre. The colours are effective, bright or bold colours, or a strong facial expression. For example the 2nd front cover with Liam Gallagher is a head on shot of his face because he is the main artist in the band, then cleverly they have edited the reflection of the rest of the band in his glasses. The fonts of the cover lines are bold and bright against the backgrounds, attracting the audience.

Contents
The contents pages have the magazine logo clearly at the top, so the reader knows what magazine it belongs to. The contents page is structured so that its clear for the reader to know where to look and what page they need simply and quickly. Double page spread

The double page spreads are all very brightly coloured and bold. The main article fonts are small compared to the background big letters for the artists names and the headlines. The images all take up more than a whole page, which helps attract the readers eyes. The colours of the images are bold, like black and white or the use of reds and blues. The big letters at the beginning of the article allow the reader to know the article has begun.

History of the indie/rock/pop/alternative music genre

Indie rock is a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United Kingdom and the United States in the 1980s. Indie rock is extremely diverse, with sub-genres that include indie pop, jangle pop, C86, and lo-fi, among others. It is originally used to describe record labels; the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock. Alternative rock also called alternative music, alt rock or simply alternative. - Is a genre of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1980s and became widely popular by the 1990s? Alternative music was most commonly associated in its commercial heyday with a loud, distorted guitar sound, its original meaning was broader; referring to a generation of musicians unified by their collective debt to either the musical style, or simply the independent, D.I.Y. ethos of punk rock, which in the late 1970s laid the groundwork for alternative music

Amber Reohorn Any additional information on indie/pop/rock/alternative music

In the 2000s, as a result of changes in the music industry and the growing importance of the Internet, a number of indie rock acts began to enjoy commercial success, leading to questions about its meaningfulness as a term. As grunge and punk revival bands in the US, and then Britpop bands in the UK, broke into the mainstream in the 1990s. The cultural impact of rock music had an impact on fashion, music style, and lifestyle. People found that the lyrics to most rock and roll music were something they had experiences at least once in their life. Like sex and drugs. This came to the phrase sex, drugs and rock and roll. It would express real emotions.
