Fault code 1 : re-supply to the engine ECU. Fault code 2 : no response from the engine ECU. Fault code 3 : engine ECU locking problem. Fault code 4 : faulty analogue module. Fault code 5 : disconnected analogue module. Fault code 6 : key not recognised. Fault code 7 : non-synchronised remote control. Fault code 8 : remote control battery has run out.

PAGE 3 - d4cy03p0 - diagnosis : body computer (CPH) (with coded key)

Fault code 12 : deadlocking not possible ; rear RH door open. Fault code 13 : deadlocking not possible ; rear LH door open. Fault code 14 : dialogue with the alarm siren not possible.

2.2 Fault code 1 : re-supply to the engine ECU

The engine ECU resupply control line is short-circuited. The resupply output enables the CPH to resupply the engine ECU with voltage, ignition off, to send it the locking order. The resupply and locking of the engine ECU takes place 10 seconds after opening the driver's door, ignition off. If opening of the driver's door is not detected : resupply and locking of the engine ECU will take place 5 minutes after the ignition is switched off. Location of components. Engine ECU connection ; double r elay or r esupply relay (de pending on engin e). ECU connector. Connected. Test connector box no. 7 ( 26 -way yellow) Component terminals. Refer to the relevant diagram relating to the vehicle engine. Test values. Diagnostic equipment : 13 ( 15 -way blac k).

Ignition off ,

Check that the engine ECU is correctly resupplied if the resupply takes place via a relay. Disconnected. Diagnostic equipment : Check the continuity and insulation of the control line. Check the resupply relay (if fitted).

2.3 Fault code 2 : no response from the engine ECU

The CPH has not received a response from the engine ECU. The engine ECU relates its status (locked or unlocked) : each time the ignition is switched on each time it receives an order from the CPH (unlocking and locking) If the engine ECU does not understand or accept the CPH order, it replies with an error message (see fault 3 ). CAUTION : The engine ECU can only respond if it is correctly supplied . First and foremost check the ECU supply with the ignition on, and its resupply with the ignition off when locking (

equipment : Check the continuity and isolation of the line between the engine ECU and the CPH .

N.B. : Depending on the engine, this line can also be used by the injection ECU to control the engine diagnostic warning lamp in the instrument panel.

CAUTION : The fault may appear if the CPH . Check the + after ignition information (see chapter 3 ).

2.4 Fault code 3 : engine ECU locking problem

The engine ECU responds to the CPH command with a fault message. The engine ECU relates its status (locked or unlocked) : each time the ignition is switched on each time it receives an order from the CPH (unlocking, locking or initialising) If the engine ECU does not understand or accept the CPH order, it replies with an error message. If the fault occurs when trying to unlock on switching on the ignition : check the compatibility of the CPH/engine ECU/vehicle. If one of the components comes from another vehicle : the engine ECU can not recognise the code used by the CPH. If the fault occurs when initialising the engine ECU : ensure that the engine ECU is new and is compatible with the transponder anti-theft function. Location of components. ECU connector. Test connector box no. Component terminals. Test values.

2.7 Fault code 6 : key not recognised

The electronic component incorporated in the coded key contains 2 types of code : a fixed identification code an authentication code which changes each time the ignition is switched on

2.7.1 Invalid identification code The CPH has not recognised the key identification code : check that the key is the right one for the vehicle initialise the keys

2.7.2 Identification code not received The CPH has not recognised the key identification code. This code is only used for the key-in-ignition audible warning , when switching off ignition. If the fault is not accompanied by an authentication defect code :

PAGE 10 - d4cy03p0 - diagnosis : body computer (CPH) (with coded key)

the key is faulty. CAUTION : This fault occurs systematically on opening the driver's door when there is no key in the ignition . Ignore the fault if the key is not in the ignition.

2.7.3 Invalid authentication code The CPH has not recognised the key authentication code. The key is faulty or hasn't been initialised. Initialise the keys. URGENT : It is necessary to have available both the vehicle access code, recorded on the customer's confidential card, as well as all the vehicle keys. The initialisation procedure is interrupted once a faulty key is detected. Repeat the initialisation procedure without the faulty key.

2.7.4 Authentication code not received The CPH has not received the key authentication code. The key is faulty or hasn't been initialised.

2.8 Fault code 7 : non-synchronised remote control

The central locking remote control becomes desynchronised if pressed repeatedly while outside its operational range. Resynchronise it. Resynchronisation procedure : switch on the ignition press one of the remote control buttons

2.9 Fault code 8 : remote control battery has run out

The central locking remote control battery is discharged.

PAGE 11 - d4cy03p0 - diagnosis : body computer (CPH) (with coded key)

The door open warning lamp flashes to signify a fault. Replace the battery.

2.10 Fault code 9 : faulty remote control

The remote control signal has been disrupted. Try again to lock/unlock the vehicle to see whether the fault reoccurs.

2.11 Fault code 10 : passenger's door locking button not locking

Symptom : unprompted triggering. Using the diagnostic tool , refer to the list giving the 15 most recent causes of the alarm going off, and check the component which appear s the most frequently. The most recent cause of the alarm going off is displayed first (order 1 ).

7 Initialisation procedure (initialisation)

URGENT : All new CPHs or engine ECUs fitted to a vehicle must be initialised . Once these components have been initialised, they can never be used on a different vehicle.

CAUTION : To perform all of the initialisation procedures, it is necessary to have the access code which is recorded on the customer's confidential card.

CAUTION : Only select the initialising procedure which relates to the specific case being dealt with . Example : in the event that only the CPH has been replaced, only perform an "initialisation of the CPH" and not an "initialisation of the CPH + engine ECU".

7.1 Initialisation : keys

The initialisation procedure allows the following operations to take place : addition of new keys addition of new remote controls replacement of keys invalidation of lost keys N.B. : Depending on the diagnostic tool used : the procedure may begin with either the initialisation of the keys or the initialisation of the remote controls.

CAUTION : The initialisation procedure deletes all the codes (keys and remote controls) from the body computer's memory. Use the diagnostic tool , select the menu :

PAGE 34 - d4cy03p0 - diagnosis : body computer (CPH) (with coded key)

"INITIALISATION OF THE KEYS". Validate. Enter the access code recorded on the customer's confidential card.

7.1.1 Initialisation : transponder codes Enter the number of keys to be initialised. Validate. Switch off the ignition (A). Remove the key from the ignition. Validate (PROXIA). Within 15 seconds : insert the key to be initialised into the ignition switch on the ignition Validate (PROXIA). A message confirms that the ignition key has been correctly initialised (according to the tool, a message will show the number of keys already initialised or the number of the key to be initialised). Validate (PROXIA). Repeat the procedure with the other keys to be initialised (starting with operation A ). Procedure completed : 1st case : press the "ENTER" button to return to the initial menu 2nd case : validate with to initialise the remote controls : see chapter 7.2

N.B. : Initialisation can take place as many times as necessary. If the initialisation procedure fails : refer to the list of error messages press the "ENTER" button to restart the procedure

CAUTION : If the initialisation procedure has been interrupted : the CPH has not been initialised . The warning lamp on the instrument panel is not activated when the ignition is switched on. Error message : this procedure successively follows each of the initialisation procedures described in this chapter . Refer to the fault message tables corresponding to the current stage.

7.5 Initialisation : configuration of the vehicle

This procedure applies when changing the CPH configuration. The configuration allows the following functions to be activated or deactivated : alarm LED deadlocks
