Doing Its Part
Teichert values its role in society. “We are
a general contractor that builds the infra-
structure most people use every day,” it
says, “including hundreds of thousands
of miles of roads, sidewalks, freeways,
curbs, utility trenches and gutters.”

Mercy Medical Center
Teichert works in residential and com-
mercial subdivisions, commercial devel-
opments, office complexes and shopping
centers, as well as on bridges, airport run-
ways, dams, canals, levees, driveways,
parks and recreational facilities.
It also works on projects in the health-
care sector. For instance, the company is
providing earthmoving, concrete, under-
ground and paving services for the seven-
story Mercy Medical Center Merced project
in Merced, Calif. This includes earthwork
and topside improvements as well as the
off-site reconstruction of three perimeter
streets.
The project began in May 2007 and
will be phased over a three-year period.
Teichert says the greatest challenge to
date has been coordinating with the
prime contractor and other subcontrac-
tors on the project to meet deadlines.
The Fountains
The Lincoln District of Teichert Construct-
ion began work on The Fountains in
Roseville, Calif., for developer Fountain
Partners LLC in summer 2007. The upscale
lifestyle center offers a variety of business-
es and services, including a Whole Foods
store. It opened in mid-2008.
Teichert’s work scope included earth-
moving; underground storm, sewer and

water; grading and paving; concrete; the
relocation of existing utilities and widen-
ing existing major roadways.
Teichert says the most significant chal-
lenges on the project were building an
on-site detour to reconstruct and widen
the existing major street that travels
through the site, and working with multi-
ple trades to coordinate activities and meet
“an aggressive completion schedule.”
Safe and Sound
No matter what type of project Teichert
works on, it vows to do so safely.
“Teichert has placed the highest value
