HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY NEW SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Hosea 10-12; Revelation 3 Monday, December 10 Luke 8:47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. Dear Healing Lord and Helping Savior: This woman was apparently misinformed. She thought power came out of you by magic, without your direct knowledge or will. And since she was a stranger to your generous character, she tried to steal a cure you were ready to give away. Yet how like __________ she is in her ignorance, and how like __________ in her superstition. My friends are in misery! Help me put them (even in intercession) in a right spot toward your mercy. They can likewise get saved, and then rejoice with trembling. Give them the assurance of salvation, knowing you will never retract the blessing of forgiveness. Help them understand the fullness of your love. My lost family and friends do not have as clear a picture of your cross as I want them to. They need to know the heights and depths of your love to them. Little may be their knowledge, little may be their faith, but if it is real faith it can save even them, and do it instantly. Give them faith as a grain of mustard seed and eternal life will be their possession. Like me, they may be the slowest in the slow class, but they can still be heirs of eternal life through faith, and adopted into Gods family. Then no power, human or demonic, can eject or reject them from salvation. I cannot grab you in my hands like Simeon. I cannot lean my head on your chest like John. But if I can venture into the crowd behind and just touch the hem of your garment, my faith will make me whole. Give courage to the timid ones today so they seek you and find peace. Do it for Jesus sake. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Amos 1-3; Revelation 6 Thursday, December 13 Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS PRAYER LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Hosea 13-14; Revelation 4 Tuesday, December 11 Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Merciful Father and Holy Lord Jesus: Make my faith determined this week to give up all dependence anywhere except on you. Make my cries grow more and more passionate as we more and more grow and seek your face in revival. Not every knock at mercys door will open itbut one will! If I want to prevail in prayer I have to handle the knocker well. Give me courage today to smack it down again and again, and even again. Matt. 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. The old Puritan said, Cold prayers ask for a denial; it is red-hot prayers that prevail. I will use my prayer like a battering-ram against the gate of heaven, and force it open with a sacred violence. Make the whole army of my soul enter into that conflict, because this proves the strength of my faith. I will dare besiege the mercy seat. Make me determined to win the day by how I pray, because then I will prevail. When there are delays, let me take them in good stride. They are sound advice to remind me to be even firmer in my faith and more fervent in my cry. Even the cross could not prevent the resurrection. That is so like your power! Maybe I will have to know the death of my request before I receive it. It is with that confidence I pray and bring every request before you. Among all the gifts you have given me, I need a devotion to prayer the most, because that is the powerhouse of triumphant, living faith. Back up that faith by visible signs of your love, your presence and your power this week. Give me great drops of rain as the foretaste of great revival. In Jesus name I plead. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Amos 4-6; Revelation 7 Friday, December 14 Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Giver of Grace: WE CRY OUT TO YOU TO GIVE US MORE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. We need him to be inside us more and more mightily as the spirit of prayer, making intercession in us with groanings that cannot be uttered. We dont want our church to miss your blessings for lack of intentionally asking for them! WE CRY OUT TO YOU TO GIVE US MORE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. That he may be our advocatenot with God, because we have that in Jesus Christbut with men and women! Your indwelling is the standing miracle of our lives. Acts 4:14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. Make it so in our lives Lord, and in our church, so all the opposition has to admit Jesus work is real, because they see it in changed lives. We can conquer every doubt when we are in contact with you. WE CRY OUT TO YOU TO GIVE US MORE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Because we want to see you work today just like back in the day. Why do we need new inventions when we have the Holy Spirits power? And what have we to do with old limitationsOh Spirit of Godif you go with us? WE CRY OUT TO YOU TO GIVE US MORE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. We need you for holiness, so make us more like Jesus! We need you for a heart of compassion that cares for the poor and loves the fallen. We need you to freeze our native unbelief. Let us not be distrustful of Jesus as we plan. WE CRY OUT TO YOU TO GIVE US MORE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Only his anointing will do for this hour. Answer us to Jesus glory. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Joel; Revelation 5 Wednesday, December 12 Phil. 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus My Lord: Why do I let anxiety keep gnawing at my heart? It weakens my power to focus, to help myself, and especially my ability to glorify you. A heart full of care keeps me from seeing anything clearly! Its like I take off my glasses, breathe the hot breath of anxiety on them, and then put them on only to see steam. Ill never see clearly as long as I fog-up my glasses with worry. Make me calm, quiet and self-possessed so I can do the right thing! Make me all there in time of trial. Give me presence of mind through the presence of your Spirit. If I forget to pray then it is no wonder I worry. Thats when I do the first thing that comes to mind (usually the worst thing that could be done) instead of waiting on you, and trustfully believing you so I can do what you show me to do as in the sight of God. Worry is fatal to revival. My cares are multiplied. Once I become anxious and fretful I am never able to calculate my problems accurately. Cares always multiply on those who are care-full. Once I give in to worry I find another crop around the corner. When I indulge the habit of anxiety it takes over my life. Pretty soon life is not worth living (nor should it be without you). If my worries are manifold, let my prayers be manifold more this week! Help me turn everything that is a care into a prayer. Thats the way to revival! Let my stresses become the raw material of my prayer power, because then I can turn lead into gold, and weave spiritual treasures out of earthly annoyances. Today I baptize every worry into the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, and so make it a blessing. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Amos 7-9; Revelation 8 Saturday, December 15 Psa. 7:17 I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high. O LORD, High and Mighty: Brush off the filth from my garments! You have planted the tree, now dont allow the winds to destroy it. I thank you my accusers cannot sit on your throne, nor blot out my name. I praise you for my job, I praise you for my ministry for you, and I praise you for the present pleasures you allow me to have. Psa. 8:1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. No heart can measure, nor tongue describe, a fragment of your greatness. You work always and everywhere in my life; today I acknowledge you in that. Psa. 8:9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Every creature is sustained by your provision. The fabric of the universe leans on your arm. Every place and in every situation, you are working your plan. Make me thrilled with what I see, and able to give glory to you. O LORD our Lord, what a sweetness in this little word, our. How much is your glory made precious to me when I consider that you, Jehovah are my Lord, Adonai. Even the heavens cannot contain your glory: it is set ABOVE the heavens. It is too great to be expressed. Surely my life can do little enough to add to it, but Lord let it be! Make me a fit vessel, a vessel of honor unto you. 1 Cor. 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. Let me not be rejected, but approved, because this is the only way I can add to your glory. Be with me this day and this weekend. Help all I do and all I say be pleasing to you, for Lord I need your grace. In Jesus name I ask it. Amen.

LET earth and Heaven combine, angels and men agree,

To praise in songs divine the incarnate Deity, Our God contracted to a span, incomprehensibly made Man. He laid His glory by, He wrapped Him in our clay; Unmarked by human eye, the latent Godhead lay; Infant of days He here became, and bore the mild Immanuels Name. See in that Infants face the depths of deity, And labor while ye gaze to sound the mystery In vain; ye angels gaze no more, but fall, and silently adore. He deigns in flesh tappear, widest extremes to join; To bring our vileness near, and make us all divine: And we the life of God shall know, for God is manifest below. Charles Wesley, 1745

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
