The purpose of this is to analyze DC and AC circuits using basic circuit theorems and verifies the accuracy of results

by both experimentation and simulation. You must use MATLAB and PSpice.

A. DC Circuit Analysis: 1. Draw the circuit neatly and indicate the resistor values and the supply voltage. Perform node analysis and write the node equations in matrix form, [A][x] = [b]. For example, for a 2-node circuit, the equations may be 0.5 V1 + (-0.2) V2 = 4 (-0.2)V1 + (0.8) V2 = 0 In matrix form, these equations are:
0.5 0.2 V1 4 0.2 0.8 V 0 2

Use MATLAB to solve these equations for the node voltages.

Experimental Verification (Experimental results attested by the graduate assistant alone should be submitted in the report. Failure to comply will result in zero credit for the experimental work.) 2. Build the circuit for which the analysis is done in Step 1, supply the same voltage used in the analysis, and experimentally determine all the node voltages. 3. Observe that one of the resistors is marked as RL. This is the load resistor. Experimentally determine the Thevenin voltage (at the terminals of RL) and the Thevenin resistance (as seen by RL).

Simulational Verification 4. Now, use PSPICE to determine all the node voltages for the same circuit used in Step 1. Use a similar simulation to determine Thevenin voltage (by open circuiting the load resistance). Finally, determine by simulation the Nortons current by replacing the load resistance by a very small resistance. (Thevenins resistance is the ratio of Thevenin voltage and Nortons current)

report the\ results. The cover page should be followed by the summary of results listed as follows: (1) a neat diagram of the circuit assigned with all the values and the nodes clearly marked, (2) node equations of the circuit, the matrix form of these equations, and their solutions (3) a table comparing calculated values of node voltages (as found in (2)), measured values of node voltages, and the node voltages from PSpice, (4) a table comparing measured values of Thevenin voltage and Thevenin resistance with those values obtained by experimentation and the values obtained using PSpice,

These pages should be neatly typed with an inch of margin on all sides. Use a line spacing of 1.5 lines, times roman font,of size 11. Attach the MATLAB and PSpice files following the summary.
