08/20/97 3:44 PM ..................this long island of North and South America still belongs to you Earth People.

This pipe youre holding is very, very sacred. This land is still sacred. So tell it too each other, that you shall live forever. A confirmation of a vision I had long ago with regard to the American Indian peoples of bith south and north as diverse as they are. It came to me in the form of a pan-American alliance of the indigenous people of the long island including those with a mixed heritage of native and ancestral roots in other lands of Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania. This type vision began to form as long ago as two decades. I recall a time in the Tucson Mountains have a very acute awareness of the native peoples influence in my personal life. The vision grew from there as I began to understand why the native people had become involved in my life. Maybe I have some native heritage too. I know I feel that I have at least something small in common with them when it comes to a love of the sacred land and a passionate attraction to awakening of consciousness. I have been told that my mothers grandfather was born at sea in about 1850 on a ship that sailed from Philadelphia. My mothers grandfather was named Edwin Bourne Rockery Hunter. His father was born in Dumfermline, Scotland and immigrated as a boy with his parents and many siblings to Pennsylvania in the teen years of the nineteenth century. Who Edwinss mother was I dont know except that her name is recorded somewhere. I can speculate that she may have lived in Pennsylvania where I speculate she met my great great Grandfather. Perhaps she had some native heritage. Perhaps thats why they decided to leave the US and settle in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. From what I know about my heritage, this is the only probable links I might have to Native Americans and if so it is a very thin line of descendency. I dont know who my grandfather Edwin

married but I speculate she was a resident of Tasmania and she may have had some native Australian heritage. Their son, Henry, was my mothers father and he married a woman who was born in the city of Perth, whose parents were both born in Scotland. So over the years I have speculated about why natives Americans might be interested in involving themselves so intimately in my life. There is a person I call the jailer who has forcefully invaded my home and who has this afternoon stolen my truck. He claims to have some American Indian heritage although to best of my knowledge it is a small part of his heritage - his grand mother or great grand mother having been a full blood American Indian of the Blackhawk people he says. Mary, is the mother of Hunter, a young man I know who she says is my son, a child I raised as my son when he was born and for a few years until his mother kidnapped him and took him away. She too claims to have American Indian heritage and has a great grand mother I think who her father says was American Indian. When I first met the jailer, I noticed some very strong physical resemblances between him and Marys father and brother. In facial structure and in body shape (all three of them are exceptionally tall with large chests of a similar shape). I have long suspected a family relationship. It may be that the jailers father (from whom he claims to be irrevocably estranged) and Marys late father may have been cousins or related in some other way. It just occured to me that perhaps it is the same woman who is their common American Indian ancestor. That would be about right. I recall Marys father saying that he grew up in Missouri while the jailers fathe said he grew up in West Virginia. That would mean three generations from this American Indian woman and her great grand children. I barely know the great grand children of my great grand parents who must of course be eight people, the parents of my our grand parents.

On my fathers side I am more familiar with the other great grand children of my fathers fathers father and mother. My grand father emigrated to Australia with two brothers and they each had childrenwho had children who had children who now number many. The jailer has been gone for nearly three hours now. Jerry Manders In the Absence of the Sacred and a folding chair are both missing along with my truck. I am not very happy that my truck is stolen every day almost now but I must say that it is very nice to have my house to myself and to be able to enjoy the peace and tranquility that exists when the jailer is gone. So in a way, prajna is acting even though it means that my truck is taken away and that dilutes a little but I have to say that while Id prefer that the jailer go away and leave my truck here, Id rather he were gone in my truck than that he and the truck were both here. Of the six options of truck, house and jailer this is the second best. 1 Jailer, truck and Mal at home 2. Jailer and truck at home and Mal gone 3. Jailer home and Mal and truck gone 4.Jailer and truck gone with Mal home 5. Jailer and Mal home with truck gone 6. Jailer gone and truck and Mal home. 7. Mal and Jailer gone truck at home 8. Mal and jailer home with truck gone 9. Mal Jailer and truck gone It is a sound of vehicles on the road. Is it the jailer come back. I feel I hope not. I hear a vehicle door close. I wait for foot steps on the front deck but dont hear it yet. Now I do. The front door is opening or is the folding chair on the deck. Now it is quiet. Either the jailer is at rest or it was a neighbor. My guess is that the jailer is at rest and the truck is back. I may make an observation to collapse the wave function. Ive been writing a while now and I know from experience that too much of it at a time means an acheing neck.

So I rest the machine for a while. My fellow great grand children is an inspiration though. 08/20/97 4:27 PM
