Dear Members of the Senior Project Review Panel: My Senior Project experience began at Physical and Occupational Therapy at Corssgates River Oaks Hospital. I shadowed James Fehrenbacher who is a physical therapist. I have been very attracted to the physical therapy field. I chose to shadow Mr. Fehrenbacher because he was my physical therapist when I tore my ACL last school year. When I tore my ACL and began therapy I instantly knew I wanted to become a therapist. My research paper debates the subjects of insurance, doctors hours, and noncompliant patients. Insurance becomes a heavy burden when it comes to physical therapy and even larger when a patient does not have insurance. Although insurance companies can present difficulties, doctors office hours become a problem also. Doctors surgical hours are very tedious. However, noncompliant patients become difficult when they are not doing their therapy at home. I drew thirty hours at Region 8 in Brandon, Mississippi for my community service project. I volunteered at North East Pharmaceuticals. I helped log in and log out medicine for people with many kinds of mental issues. I also filed papers and helped fax drug stores information on patients. My community service at Region 8 applies to my research paper by helping people that do have insurance and people that do not have insurance. Region 8 had two different programs for people who are insured and people who are not insured. I believe that Senior Project is the next step to becoming an adult. Senior Project exists because our teachers want us to be prepared for the real world. In the real world, businesses do not approve of plagiarism. Also, if a student plagiarizes while being a senior, the student will fail Senior Project and will hinder their graduation eligibility. I would not like to experience the consequences of plagiarism.
