We see in the Local Governance Performance Management System (LGPMS) an outstanding illustration of leveraging and utilizing our access

to technology in the provision of ever-improving public service. The LGPMS analysis and statistics, by assisting in the determination of the citys capabilities and limitations in the delivery of essential public services, allows the Sangguniang Panlungsod and this Committee to establish, maintain, or improve the necessary organization to spur a balanced blend of Social, Economic, and Environmental development. We congratulate the Office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator in the publication of the State of Local Governance Report, and wish it more power as it helps us perceive a focused vision for the City of Meycauayans future.

More and more, Information and Communication Technology is being employed all over the world to make government more effective, efficient, and transparent. Modern technology not only helps make governance better but also proves citizens more information on their governments. Those in the frontlines of e-government have in fact been demonstrating that through the combination of technology with new mindsets and new ways of doing things, government can be much more effective and responsive to citizens. With these developments in mind, let it never be said that the City of Meycauayan has failed to leverage the technology available to it for public service. The Local Governance Performance Management System (LGPMS) is one concrete example of the benefits the marriage of technology and governance brings. We congratulate the Office of the City Urban Planning and Development Officer on the publication of this years State of the Local Governance Report, and wish it more power as it assists the City Government in evolving to be of greater service to our constituents.
