Thursday, August 27, 2009, Radhasthami. 2012 THE END OF ALL THINGS?

Is it possible the world will end in 2012? Sorry no chance! The fear of total destruction of the world as we know it has been the running theme since the beginning of time itself. The real doomsday prophets are todays scientists, politicians, bankers and military leaders who are signs of mass destruction and have the means to inflict considerable harm on society. They imagine themselves as seers of the absolute truthGods chosen representatives- and insist that we must all take their nonsense as the utter end of all perception. Rather than take instruction directly from the Supreme Lord Himself which is readily available we are led to believe these prophets can show the world the unconditional reality since

they hold sway over all universal affairs. Our modern seers want to usurp the position of God- they want us to believe that all awareness from this material platform to a celestial universal scale is solidly in their possession. They survive on the fear principle, by constant threats in mass media those of demoniac nature gain superficial supremacy. No matter how evolved modern science becomes or how tight a grip these controllers of society gain over humanity there will never come a time when the inner most secrets of this universe or the real purpose of life will be revealed to them through empirical knowledge. Nor is there any possibility that any serious harm can be inflicted over mankind by those who have usurped material power through financial and military force without the sanction of the Supreme Lord. The end of the world or its real purpose is not within their vision or grasp. If we want to understand the essence of life and when it will end then the only source are the ancient Vedic texts originating from India. The world will end but that total devastation is exactly 311 trillion 40 billion human (solar) years away. A partial devastation comes in another 427,000 earth years from now when Kali Yuga changes back to Saty Yuga. Long enough that we dont have to worry over temporary upsets that shake the unstable minds of the masses in ignorance. At that time when the total desolation approaches the whole cosmic

manifestation will shut down and remerge again into the body of MahaVisnu- everything material dies. In scientific terms we merge into the anti-material body of the Supreme Lord. We return to the source of all things material. We originate from the body of the Lord. We emanate on a rotation basis as matter emerges becomes manifest and again amalgamates back into that same body of Lord Krsna the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His four handed Visnu form. There is an anti-matter eternal God particle inside all of us called; spirit soul or the source of consciousness. All living entities are endowed with this spark of divinity the quality of which is of the same substance possessed by the Supreme Lord Himself. The difference is in quantity; the Lord possesses everything in full and we are just a fractional touch blessed by the unlimited potency of Lord Krsna who is God. This is elaborately described in the Srimad Bhagavatam, from the Vedic literatures, which are the oldest, and only unchanged original sources of knowledge known to man. Lucky for mankind that something has been kept intact over the centuries to provide us with a written record of how to lead a pious ideal lifestyle and the means of how to return to the abode of our creator. BIBLE BANGERS The majority of the doomsday preachers reach deep into the Bible to fuel their demented natures to shut down all that exists.

Because such persons are pessimistic in all matters of life they superimpose this negativity on the world at large. They see no purpose in this madness called life and super-impose their wish to see everything end as soon as possible. Suicide is the next step for such enlightened seers of absolute stupidity. The Bible can be interpreted in so many ways as well as all other scriptures to suit anyones foolish purpose. Those that quote from the Bible and speak of the world ending over the past several centuries have caused millions of people undue harm inciting the fear of God for no good reason. There is no vengeful God, by definition God is all merciful, why would there be a God who wants to harm His sons and daughters who are devoted and obedient or any part of His creation untimely? The Supreme Lord never stands in the way of our free will and independence to act according to any desire that pops into our sweet little brain. He is always ready to provide any assistance we need to fulfill our unlimited desiring propensity especially when that desire will evolve us spiritually. Unfortunately we never desire the thing which will benefit us the most. The real solution to all the problems we face in life is to have no desires except to serve the Supreme Lord. The first thing we have to understand is that God is a person, He exists- has a personality and is explicitly described in the Vedic literatures, His name is Krsna, He has pastimes on this planet and all other

planets in a perpetual road show. He brings all His personal associates to perform in this on-going drama- eternally. Once we come to understand who God is then we will search out all the information on what He does and how we can play some insignificant part to please Him and serve Him. His names are many according to the past time He is performing. This name Krsna means all attractive, this is His original name and the name we call upon to find some relief from the suffering conditions of this material world. So we chant; Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare to call on His mercy. Unfortunately destiny is always working over time to correct our deficit from our karmic desires from past lives. So for this reason there are problems in society like natural disasters, famine, and man-made disturbances like war and pollution- its karma working off our collective past desires. Are we really living in a world that is very near the end of time? There is certainly a great amount of information in the Bible which could be misconstrued to support this theory. However, who, is able to understand or interpret the inner meaning of what is written in our present day Bible since it has been changed drastically throughout the course of history. How is it that those who follow the Bible claiming to be on the side of God and righteousness perpetrate the most heinous crimes against humanity? The problems are basic; man has reinterpreted

the Bible to suit his own needs. What does it mean THOU SHALL NOT KILL, it means any living creature. We have no right to take any life to suit our voracious appetite to enjoy this material world. Now the Bible reads; Thou shall not murder. Big difference, this means we can certainly kill animals and reap no karma, wrong! Killing anything is murder; therefore we see the Bible has been altered drastically. We are being cheated into thinking what the Bible says is the gospel truth. It is not. If you are still eating meat, fish and eggs then there is no question of spiritual life. No matter what anyone says Christ did not eat meat, nor did he serve fish to the multitudes; this information is coming from self-realized souls who are able to see and understand the past, present and future through spiritual maturity. Another common objection to vegetarianism is, Jesus Christ ate meat, so why shouldn't we? But vegetarian Christians point out that the ancient Greek, from which the New Testament was translated, does not support the contention that Christ ate meat.** For example, Greek words like brosimos, prosphagion, and trophe, all of which mean simply "food, or "nourishment," were loosely translated as "meat. (except in the New English Bible). And, vegetarian Christians assert, where the Bible states that Christ was offered fish and a honeycomb and accepted "it (singular), it

means the honeycomb. In the Old Testament a verse predicts this of the youthful Christ: "He shall eat butter and honey that he may know to refuse the evil and to choose the good." (Isaiah 7:15) The purport would seem to be that to behave otherwise would lead to a brutish mentality, which cannot be accepted in the character of Christ. Pythagoras, famous for his contributions to geometry and mathematics, said, "Oh, my fellow men, do not defile your bodies with sinful foods. We have corn; we have apples bending down the branches with their weight, and grapes swelling on the vines. There are not sweet-flavored herbs, and vegetables which can be cooked and softened over the fire, nor are you denied milk or thyme-scented honey. The earth affords a lavish supply of riches of innocent foods, and offers you banquets that involve no bloodshed or slaughter; only beasts satisfy their hunger with flesh, and not even all of those, because horses, cattle, and sheep live on grass." In an essay titled On Eating Flesh, the Roman author Plutarch wrote: "Can you really ask what reason Pythagoras had for abstinence from flesh. For my part I rather wonder both by what accident and in what state of mind the first man touched his mouth to gore and brought his lips to the flesh of a dead creature, set

forth tables of dead, stale bodies, and ventured to call food and nourishment the parts that had a little before bellowed and cried, moved and lived... It is certainly not lions or wolves that we eat out of self-defense; on the contrary, we ignore these and slaughter harmless, tame creatures without stings or teeth to harm us. For the sake of a little flesh we deprive them of sun, of light, of the duration of life they are entitled to by birth and being." Plutarch then delivered this challenge to flesh-eaters: "If you declare that you are naturally designed for such a diet, then first kill for yourself what you want to eat. Do it, however, only through your own resources, unaided by cleaver or cudgel or any kind of ax The poet Shelly was a committed vegetarian. In his essay A Vindication of Natural Diet," he wrote, "Let the advocate of animal food force himself to a decisive experiment on its fitness, and as Plutarch recommends, tear a living lamb with his teeth and, plunging his head into its vitals, slake his thirst with the steaming blood... then, and then only, would he be consistent." Leo Tolstoy wrote that by killing animals for food, "Man suppresses in himself, unnecessarily, the highest spiritual capacity- that of sympathy and pity

towards living creatures like himselfand by violating his own feelings becomes cruel." He also warned, "While our bodies are the living graves of murdered animals, how can we expect any ideal conditions on earth?" When we lose respect for animal life, we lose respect for human life as well. Twenty-six hundred years ago, Pythagoras said, "Those that kill animals to eat their flesh tend to massacre their own." We're fearful of enemy guns, bombs, and missiles, but can we close our eyes to the pain and fear we ourselves bring about by slaughtering, for human consumption, over 1.6 billion domestic mammals and 22.5 billion poultry a year.(Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations/Rome, p. 226-47). The number of fish killed each year is in the trillions. And what to speak of the tens of millions of animals killed each year in the "torture-camps" of medical research laboratories, or slaughtered for their fur, hide, or skin, or hunted for "sport". Can we deny that this brutality makes us more brutal too? Leonardo da Vinci wrote, "Truly man is the king of beasts, for his brutality exceeds theirs. We live by the death of others. We are burial places!" He added, "The time will come when men will look

upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men." Mahatma Gandhi felt that ethical principles are a stronger support for lifelong commitment to a vegetarian diet than reasons of health. "I do feel," he stated, "that spiritual progress does demand at some stage that we should cease to kill our fellow creatures for the satisfaction of our bodily wants." He also said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Vegetarianism: A Means to a Higher End, dirja dsa Diet for a Spiritual Planet by Rpnuga Dsa Prabhupda; So, there is a process how to appreciate, how to become qualified to appreciate, and that system is called varrama-dharma, to divide the whole human society into four classes of men: the brhmaa, katriya, vaiya and dra. And those who are not regulated, they are pacamas, below the dras. So the, our subject matter was unlawful meat-eaters. So even the dras, who are meat-eaters, they're lawful meat-eaters. What is that lawful meat-eating? Lawful meat-eating is... In any religion, formerly, even the Muhammadans or Hindus or the Jews, they used to kill one animal as sacrifice. They used to kill. Not in the

slaughterhouse. Even up to date, those who are strictly religious followers... Suppose the Muhammadans. There in the Koran, the injunction is that "You should sacrifice one animal in the mosque." The Jews also, they sacrifice animal in the synagogue. I have read one book, Lord Jesus Christ, when he was a young boy he was very much shocked when he saw that animal-killing is going on in the synagogue. Therefore he differentiated from the Jews and he started his own religion, Christian religion. Is it not a fact? Am I right? Why... He was also a Jew. Why he deviated? Why he deviated from the Jews? Because when he saw in his young age that animals are being killed in the synagogue, he differed, "No, no, this is horrible. This should be stopped." Therefore, his first commandment is "Thou shall not kill." Am I wrong or right? Eh? That was his first impression, that people should stop killing. So who is Christian? Everyone is violating this first commandment, what to speak of other commandments. Everyone. So it is very difficult to find a real Christian. But if you violate the commandments of Christ, then what kind of Christian you are? This is our question. Who will answer this? Everyone is hopeful that they can leave the karma to the butcher in the slaughterhouse, who actually does the killing, he is responsible for accepting the reactions that

come with this animal killing business. Nokarma hits everyone in the line of getting the meat on the plate in front of your vision. From the waitress who serves you with a smile; the restaurant owner, cook, distributor, packer, refrigeration business employees, transporter, up to the slaughterhouse personnel. Everyone in the chain who just touches the product in any form or works in any of these establishments is equally guilt of murder in the first degree. Before you attack the next juicy steak that is your right to buy and devour think of the animal whose life had been taken to satisfy your urge to enjoy this hot blood and burnt flesh. That meal be it meat, fish or eggs or any thing else animal no matter how nicely decorated is only bad karma loaded with poisons that will carry into your next life. When we leave this body we leave all that was ours, except the karma of devouring animal flesh and all the other sins perpetrated in our present body. Therefore we should be very careful of our actions and eating habits. Sin is registered on our slate in indelible ink and will be read back to us when we face the court of Yamaraja, the Lord of death. The Bible is right on the hellish descriptions which await the fallen sinful who disregard the laws of God. Man has the uncanny ability to destroy but little aptitude to create. If we want to find something truly original then we have to look at the Supreme creative. Krsna is

the reservoir of all abilities, through His agents He is the Supreme creator, maintainer and destroyer, there is nothing beyond Him, He is everything that exists and in nonexistence. The Lord is present in every atom in all elements which He creates in abundance and in unlimited numbers of combination. We can only rearrange these unlimited elements to make something material manifest for our limited experience. There is no material element we can create; all is created by the Lord except our future destiny. Therefore our future is only depending on what we will to happen through these essential primeval elements, meaning our precious bodies which we parade throughout our frail existence. Will power is the key to our egress from this earthly penitentiary fabricated to meet the demands of our previous embodiment. We are what we think and do. We are writing those pages now in our big book in the sky. The last thought measured at the last breath in our last existence is what we have become. Most men at the very last breath think of their wives, daughters, mothers and this is the reason there are more females born in this world than males. We become what we think, that last thought at the time of death is all important. Any male thinking of a female at the time of death becomes female and visaversa. Remember this precious body we have today is formed around the karmic activities we performed in our last lifetime. There can be no complaints

since what we are today is what we desired in our last incarnation. Reincarnation does exist, we can believe or not but the laws of karma will act. Ignorance is no excuse even in driving a car in a foreign country. If you drive on the wrong side of the road or drive through life ignoring the rules of human life there will be certainly a serious crash at the moment we least expect and again we die to eventually get reborn again in another body human or otherwise. We should make full use of what is contained in the Vedic literatures. We should take these teachings serious; this message is being handed down over the centuries as it is with no change because of Indias ancient parampara system of disciplic session. If what we think is important then what about what we do? Please believe it- what we did in our past lifetime is what we are today. As an athletic trains hard to perform well at the time of competition, we need to be trained for what happens at the time of death by chanting this Maha-mantra; Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, then all purposes are instantly served. This is the means to always remember God Lord Krsna and never forget Him. By always singing Lord Krsnas glories we always remain firmly fixed in His service and with the help of an expert transcendentalist called Guru, we will be guided and carried across the finishing line labeled death. Since these bodily elements are composed of

dead matter and our souls are eternal then there is no death. The spirit soul just leaves this body which is already dead, so nothing dies we just get reborn in another body. We move according to our desires, purify the desire and if we think of the Supreme Lord at the time of so-called death then no more birth in this material worldgraduation day, jackpot winner take all.

Great Tribulation
Those so expert in interpreting the Bible find this present time period as the great tribulation, where God is testing everyone to see who the true believers are. And what is a true believer? This means that only those who are true and obedient to everything in the Bible will be saved; is this the way God is separating the wheat from the scum of the earth? Does this mean that everyone else in all other religions are doomed to eternal damnation for following their own scriptures instead of the Bible? No chance! To support their theories and to further complicate matters these following dates are forced on us to cause general panic and hysteria. First we have a little problem in 2011 the world is supposed to end- so we are told- or maybe later in 2012 or maybe both or maybe never at all? As stated in the beginning total devastation is about 311 trillion 40 billion human years away. A partial devastation comes in another 427,000 earthly years from

now so dont be concerned with what doomsday prophets think. The Supreme Lord can be experienced only through the process of devotional service and not by one's personal endeavor in mental speculation. The age of Brahm is calculated in terms of divya years, which are distinct from the solar years of human beings. The divya years are calculated in Bhagavad-gt (8.17): sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmao vidu. Brahm's one day is equal to one thousand times the aggregate of the four yugas (calculated to be 4,300,000 years). On that basis, Brahm meditated for one hundred years before he could understand the supreme cause of all causes, and then he wrote the Brahma-sahit, which is approved and recognized by Lord Caitanya and in which he sings, govindam dipurua tam aha bhajmi. One has to wait for the mercy of the Lord before one can either render service unto Him or know Him as He is. SB 3.8.23 Here is a sample taste by one of many doomsday writers forcing their myopic vision on the world; To God Be The Glory! By Harold Camping. Judge for yourself since most of the time period in question has past and the great tribulation is only what is happening on the normal stage of everyday events;

This time of testing encompasses the entire 8,400-day (23-year) period of the great tribulation, which began on May 21, 1988 and continues until May 21, 2011. On that day, the Day of Judgment begins, and it continues until October 21, 2011. During this five- month period from May 21, 2011 to October 21, 2011, every human being on earth- will receive the final punishment for their sins. This punishment, of course, will not come upon the true believers, who will be spared by their faith to meet Christ, on May 21, 2011. Take his sample that is often quoted from Revelation 20:11-13: And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Most everything in the above quote from Revelations is verified or collaborated in the Srimad Bhagavatam, 5th Canto, but who is sitting on that white throne? Does God have

to do this work? No, He has his delegated supporters who carry out His instructions. They are called Demi-gods[Godlike personalities] and the Lord of death is called Yamaraja he is the empowered personality in charge of making the final judgments according to what is written in those record books which carry our pious and impious activities in each life span. Srimad Bhagavatam 5th Canto gives a more detail description of the hellish planets where and how this judgment actually takes place. Sitting on that great white throne is Gods personal representative one of the 12 mahajhans who collectively delegate the workings of this universe. The Bible bangers identify this person as; God the Ruler, the Judge of all the earth. The One who sits (rules) upon the throne can be only God, who as the supreme Ruler will bring an end to this universe, from whose face heaven and earth fled away. Lord Yamaraja is Gods personal representative so he is certainly God-like, it is he that sits in judgment and decides our final fate. The dead will stand before God- every sinful human who dies will stand and be judged for their sins. But the choice is our own of how we live our lives. There is never any infringement on our freedom of choice or will power, we can follow our instincts and lead a duplicitous life or surrender to a pious lifestyle as noted in the Vedic scriptures. Therefore we must

observe the rules and regulations by following the four pillars of religiosity; 1. No illicit sex, meaning no sex outside of marriage and only for procreation not to satisfy our lusty desires. 2. No intoxications including tea and coffee, which contain habit forming substances which lead to higher addictions. 3. No gambling. 4. No meat, fish, or eggs. I am afraid this cuts into those Bible beating fanatics who relish all of the above; they also will be facing Yamaraja in his court of death. The spiritually dead are not those inheriting original sin set off by Adam (in Adam all die, I Corinthians 15:22) but those who are willfully violating the above pillars of religiosity. Does this really mean that those who are physically alive for this moment and have had no contact with the life of Christ or know his teachings are spiritually dead? No it is the reverse those devout Christians who follow the Bible and violate any or all of the above four regulative principles are in great danger at the time of death. In the tableau quote from Revelations we do see opened books that obviously have a record of all sins committed. All religions show that we are condemned each time we commit a sin, these are the laws of God working. If we deviate from these laws even if we have no

knowledge of such laws the karma incurred will act. Not only taken from the Bible but all scriptures tell us sins against the laws of God are punishable, not eternal damnation as the Bible beating fanatics would make us believe. We are all judged at the time of death by the laws of God. But what are those laws; every religion may have a separate agenda for what is interpreted as being right or wrong. It is certainly Gods intention to save all His children from hellish life therefore the laws of God protect those who follow the rules and regulations set down by the Supreme Lord in the Vedas. We are all under the sentence of death; this planet is called martya-loka a prison house where all things are born to die. Mtyu means death, we are surrounded by mrtyuh at every turn yet we never see our own death approaching- within this material world there is nothing more mysterious or amazing. If we really understand that this material creation is a blessing from God directly to facilitate all of us conditioned souls to understand that there is no possibility to usurp the position held by God, or enjoy separately from Him. Then God certainly knows what to do, to help aid us to achieve the next step. He will see our sincerity if we want to erase this perplexed state of indecision of how to become God realized or Krsna Conscious- He will send us a boni-fied spiritual master.

We are all very near the end, we are all facing the end of all things- our own death. If we are not concern with living a pious life style and make a mess of our advantage of living in a human body then we are assured to end up in the court of Yamaraja the court of death. He is the administrator of justice and has the scale in his hands. All sinful offenders will stand in front of this exalted personality. However, if we lead a pious life then we dont visit this court of death. Instead we attain the position of associating with the Supreme Lord directly. As explained in the Vedic literature all things are personified; the sea, death itself, hell and all material elements are controlled by deputed personalities. These personalities are highly placed and directly involved in all universal matters- called Demi-gods they deliver what ever is required when the Supreme Lord instructs. Remember, the period of great tribulation started with the creation of Lord Brahma and this material universe not 8,400-days ago but 311 trillion 40 billion human years ago. This is the life time of Lord Brahm who is a mortal being, but despite this vast life span he and this universe created by him is also perishable. Thus is it not reasonable those human beings, who are also his creation, should perish. As human beings seem immortal to a tiny insect, so Lord Brahm and the demigods seem immortal to us.

In fact, no material body of any form is ever eternal. At the end of Lord Brahm's day, when night approaches, a partial dissolution inundates the universe up to the Svargaloka, the abode of the demigods. All the living entities of this world are created at the dawn of Lord Brahm's day and annihilated at dusk, and this creation and annihilation goes in a continuous cycle. All that is presently created will end in 311+ trillion solar years from now. All facts stated herein are taken directly from the cream of Vedic knowledge- Srimad Bhagavatam written and compiled by the literary incarnation of Godhead Srila Vedavyasa. God Himself is speaking- can there be any higher authority? According to the Srimad Bhagavatam as quoted below we all have been revolving in endless cycles of birth and death since the moment we decided to Lord it over material nature. This time period cannot be traced out since it might go back through the previous day of Lord Brahma (meaning 4.32 billion years). These are the cold facts of reality; no sign carrying doomsday fool will ever be credited for revealing the truth regarding the end of all knowledge. Real knowledge is given only by God Himself no one else. As time rolls we can expect to see ongoing collective confusion regarding mass destruction as prophesied by the Bible bangers or any fool attempting a glimpse into what lies in the future- especially through the merits of the demoniac and their impersonal imaginary

vision. This information regarding the absolute truth is given freely for those fortunate souls who are open and inquisitive to find the unadulterated veracity of the universal cosmic structure and disstructure. Just open the Srimad Bhagavatam and read to your hearts content. sarva-bhtni Kaunteya prakti ynti mmikm aye punas tni kalpdau visjmy aham O son of Kunt, at the end of the millennium all material manifestations enter into My nature, and at the beginning of another millennium, by My potency, I create them again. Bg 9.7 Purports by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada; The creation, maintenance and annihilation of this material cosmic manifestation are completely dependent on the supreme will of the Personality of Godhead. "At the end of the millennium" means at the death of Brahm. Brahm lives for one hundred years, and his one day is calculated at 4,300,000,000 of our earthly years. His night is of the same duration. His month consists of thirty such days and nights, and his year of twelve months. After one hundred such years, when Brahm dies, the devastation or annihilation takes place; this means that the energy manifested by the Supreme

Lord is again wound up in Himself. Then again, when there is a need to manifest the cosmic world, it is done by His will. Bahu sym: "Although I am one, I shall become many." This is the Vedic aphorism (Chndogya Upaniad 6.2.3). He expands Himself in this material energy, and the whole cosmic manifestation again takes place. prakti svm avaabhya visjmi puna puna bhta-grmam ima ktsnam avaa prakter vat The whole cosmic order is under Me. Under My will it is automatically manifested again and again, and under My will it is annihilated at the end. Bg 9.8 This material world is the manifestation of the inferior energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This has already been explained several times. At the creation, the material energy is let loose as the mahat-tattva, into which the Lord as His first purua incarnation, Mah-Viu, enters. He lies within the Causal Ocean and breathes out innumerable universes, and into each universe the Lord again enters as Garbhodakay Viu. Each universe is in that way created. He still further manifests Himself as Krodakay Viu and that Viu enters into everythingeven into the minute atom. This fact is explained here. He enters into everything.

Now, as far as the living entities are concerned, they are impregnated into this material nature, and as a result of their past deeds they take different positions. Thus the activities of this material world begin. The activities of the different species of living beings are begun from the very moment of the creation. It is not that all is evolved. The different species of life are created immediately along with the universe. Men, animals, beasts, birdseverything is simultaneously created, because whatever desires the living entities had at the last annihilation are again manifested. It is clearly indicated here by the word avaam that the living entities have nothing to do with this process. The state of being in their past life in the past creation is simply manifested again, and all this is done simply by His will. This is the inconceivable potency of the Supreme Personality of God. And after creating different species of life, He has no connection with them. The creation takes place to accommodate the inclinations of the various living entities, and so the Lord does not become involved with it. [As-They-SurrenderUnto-Me ] [VTE] If you can superimpose this following description over what is given in Revelations we can see that most people

would be concerned since both descriptions are talking of the same event which is in the far distant future. Here is the description of how the secondary creator Lord Brahma works according to the will of the Supreme Lord; Lord Brahma is not the Supreme or actual creator, he is supplied the mind, body, knowledge, material, direction, and substance directly from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Ka. There is no accident in play, there is no big bang or anything else considered accidental. Everything is calculated, controlled and timed perfectly to fit into the overall divine plan that is the responsibility and will of the Supreme Lord. Note; everything is simultaneously created there is no evolution according to the strongest or how well we can adapt to the climatic conditions, no, we are living in these 8,400,000 species of life according to our karma and the dictates of the Lord of death sitting in judgment on all conditioned souls who are sent to his court. Yamaraja is presiding in this position as an appointed agent working on behalf of the Supreme Lord. aham tm gukea sarva-bhtayasthita aham di ca madhya ca bhtnm anta eva ca I am the Supersoul, O Arjuna, seated in the hearts of all living entities. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings. Bg 10.20

PURPORT Before the material creation, the Supreme Lord, by His plenary expansion, accepts the purua incarnations, and from Him everything begins. Therefore He is tm, the soul of the mahat-tattva, the universal elements. The total material energy is not the cause of the creation; actually Mah-Viu enters into the mahat-tattva, the total material energy. He is the soul. When Mah-Viu enters into the manifested universes, He again manifests Himself as the Supersoul in each and every entity. We have experience that the personal body of the living entity exists due to the presence of the spiritual spark. Without the existence of the spiritual spark, the body cannot develop. Similarly, the material manifestation cannot develop unless the Supreme Soul, Ka, enters. As stated in the Subla Upaniad, prakty-di-sarvabhtntar-ym sarva-e ca nryaa: "The Supreme Personality of Godhead is existing as the Supersoul in all manifested universes." The three purua-avatras are described in rmad-Bhgavatam. They are also described in the Stvata-tantra. Vios tu tri rpi purukhyny atho vidu: the Supreme Personality of Godhead manifests three featuresas Kraodakay Viu, Garbhodakay Viu and Krodakay Viuin this material manifestation. The Mah-Viu,

or Kraodakay Viu, is described in the Brahma-sahit (5.47). Ya krarava-jale bhajati sma yoga-nidrm: the Supreme Lord, Ka, the cause of all causes, lies down in the cosmic ocean as Mah-Viu. Therefore the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the beginning of this universe, the maintainer of the universal manifestations, and the end of all energy. [As-They-Surrender-Unto-Me ] For a moment lets go back 311 trillion 40 billion solar years ago to understand the life time of Lord Brahm. This exalted personality is born without the aid of a mother; he is the first being to appear before creation. Sitting inside the whorl of an enormous lotus he begins a long meditation to trace out his creator. Brahm is born out of the lotus stem grown from the navel abdomen of Garbhodakay Viu, who is Ka's plenary expansion; from this position Lord Brahma manifests this universe and after 100 years of his time he gets elevated to a higher post or is transferred to the spiritual world. Our four headed Lord Brahma holds sway over our universe which is small as gauged by the number of heads Lord Brahma manifests; the bigger the universe the more heads on this personality who holds this post in different universes to manage the creation process on behalf of Lord Krsna. There are millions of universes with millions of Lord Brahmas creating each universal manifestation much greater than

our small scale creation that we look at with such awe and reverence. When all the millions of Lord Brahmas are called together to meet with the Lord some personalities show themselves with millions of heads. Here the demon Hirayakaipu the head of the Daityas (demons) speaks in praise of Lord Brahma mistaking him as the all in all. Lord Brahma is not God he is God- like being a direct expansion from His own body. r-hirayakaipur uvca kalpnte klasena yo 'ndhena tamasvtam abhivyanag jagad ida svayajyoti sva-roci tman tri-vt ceda sjaty avati lumpati raja-sattvatamo-dhmneparya mahate nama Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the supreme lord within this universe. At the end of each day of his life, the universe is fully covered with dense darkness by the influence of time, and then again, during his next day, that self-effulgent lord, by his own effulgence, manifests, maintains and destroys the entire cosmic manifestation through the material energy, which is invested with the three modes of material nature. He, Lord Brahm, is the shelter of those modes of naturesattva-gua, rajo-gua and tamo-gua. SB 7.3.26-27 PURPORT

The words abhivyanag jagad idam refer to He who creates this cosmic manifestation. The original creator is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Ka (janmdy asya yata [SB 1.1.1]); Lord Brahm is the secondary creator. When Lord Brahm is empowered by Lord Ka as the engineer to create the phenomenal world, he becomes the supremely powerful feature within this universe. The total material energy is created by Ka, and later, taking advantage of all that has necessarily been created, Lord Brahm engineers the entire phenomenal universe. At the end of Lord Brahm's day, everything up to Svargaloka is inundated with water, and the next morning, when there is darkness in the universe; Brahm again brings the phenomenal manifestation into existence. Therefore he is described here as he who manifests this universe. o namo bhagavate vsudevya janmdy asya yato 'nvayd itarata crthev abhija svar tene brahma hd ya di-kavaye muhyanti yat sraya tejo-vri-md yath vinimayo yatra trisargo 'm dhmn svena sad nirasta-kuhaka satya para dhmahi O my Lord, r Ka, son of Vasudeva, O all-pervading Personality of Godhead, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You.

I meditate upon Lord r Ka because He is the Absolute Truth and the primeval cause of all causes of the creation, sustenance and destruction of the manifested universes. He is directly and indirectly conscious of all manifestations, and He is independent because there is no other cause beyond Him. It is He only who first imparted the Vedic knowledge unto the heart of Brahmj, the original living being. By Him even the great sages and demigods are placed into illusion, as one is bewildered by the illusory representations of water seen in fire, or land seen on water. Only because of Him do the material universes, temporarily manifested by the reactions of the three modes of nature, appear factual, although they are unreal. I therefore meditate upon Him, Lord r Ka, who is eternally existent in the transcendental abode, which is forever free from the illusory representations of the material world. I meditate upon Him, for He is the Absolute Truth. [SB 1.1.1] When we speak of the end of the world we mean what will happen with the death of Brahma. This exalted personality seems immortal when his one day is calculated at 4,300,000,000 of our earthly years. His night is of the same duration. When Brahma dies, the devastation or annihilation takes place; which means that the energy

manifested by the Supreme Lord is again wound up in Himself as He inhales. Later after the exhaling breath of the Lord then again the cosmic world is manifested, by His simple Will: "Although I am one, I shall become many." This is the Vedic aphorism. He expands Himself in this material energy, and the whole show starts over again. This is the cosmic road show, the Supreme Lord is always manifesting in different places in His creation to annihilate the demons and to inspire and protect His devotees. atho anantasya mukhnalena dandahyamna sa nirkya vivam niryti siddhevara-yua-dhiya yad dvai-parrdhya tad u pramehyam At the time of the final devastation of the complete universe [the end of the duration of Brahm's life], a flame of fire emanates from the mouth of Ananta [from the bottom of the universe]. The yog sees all the planets of the universe burning to ashes, and thus he leaves for Satyaloka by airplanes used by the great purified souls. The duration of life in Satyaloka is calculated to be 15,480,000,000,000 years. SB 2.2.26 PURPORT It is indicated herein that the residents of Maharloka, where the purified living entities or demigods possess a duration of life calculated to be 4,300,000,000 solar years, have airships by which they

reach Satyaloka, the topmost planet of the universe. In other words, the rmadBhgavatam gives us many clues about other planets far, far away from us which modern planes and spacecraft cannot reach, even by imaginary speeds. The statements of rmad-Bhgavatam are accepted by great cryas like rdhara Svm, Rmnujcrya and Vallabhcrya. Lord r Caitanya Mahprabhu specifically accepts rmad-Bhgavatam as the spotless Vedic authority, and as such no sane man can ignore the statements of rmadBhgavatam when it is spoken by the selfrealized soul rla ukadeva Gosvm, who follows in the footsteps of his great father, rla Vysadeva, the compiler of all Vedic literatures. In the creation of the Lord there are many wonderful things we can see with our own eyes every day and night, but we are unable to reach them equipped by modern materialistic science. We should not, therefore, depend on the fragmentary authority of materialistic science for knowing things beyond the range of scientific purview. For a common man, both modern science and Vedic wisdom are simply to be accepted because none of the statements either of modern science or of Vedic literature can be verified by him. The alternative for a common man is to believe either of them or both of them. The Vedic way of understanding, however, is more authentic because it has been accepted by the

cryas, who are not only faithful and learned men, but are also liberated souls without any of the flaws of conditioned souls. The modern scientists, however, are conditioned souls liable to so many errors and mistakes; therefore the safe side is to accept the authentic version of Vedic literatures, like rmadBhgavatam, which is accepted unanimously by the great cryas. We can never gain approach to the predominating Supreme Person Lord r Ka even if we spend life times stuck up in the pathways of jna (philosophy), yoga (mysticism), or karma (fruitive work). However, the karms, or fruitive workers with a great deal of effort can reach the sun and the moon (they dont need to worry about rocket fuel since they will be riding on light beams) which are part of the Svargaloka planets. The jns and yogs can go a little higher and end up in Brahmaloka where Lord Brahma resides. Or if we are ready to surrender through devotional service then we have the ability to enter into the spiritual nature. Some of these jns and yogs can enter the illuminating cosmic atmosphere of the spiritual sky (Brahman) or make it directly to one of the Vaikuha planets; this is all based on qualification and degree of surrender. However, a devotee trained in devotional service can formulate a direct approach and make it back home back to Godhead the

ultimate destination with no difficulty simply chant this simple mantra non- stop; Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare Even those who are considered great scholars of Bhagavad-gt may overlook the essential message of how to overcome the insurmountable nature of this material energy. In the name of philanthropy how many open hospitals and start all kinds of public, governmental and semi-governmental institutions to leave their mark in societyall a waste of time. One cannot save anything, only a crazy man would tackle the devastating power of material nature by blowing on all the boils manifesting in this mad world. We can at least save ourselves with a thorough knowledge of the eternal life of bliss and awareness available through the Vedic scheme. We are all misguided by the temporary illusions which attract our lusty senses. If we want to save ourselves and our fellow man then it shouldnt matter whether we like or dislike what is being delivered here as the absolute truth. We must take this opportunity as being extremely rare and follow the pathway of devotional service of the Lord. There is no other way, no matter how hard we may look in any other direction; there will still be no other way.

We all stand before God in our final hour throughout each of our many life spans in this repeated birth and death spin of Samsara (changing bodies). If in our final moment we are thinking of the Lord Krsna at the time of death then no more bodies. If we happen to be thinking of our pet dog- guess what? Think of God or think of dog this is our choice, this little know fact is the basis of life itself. If we are prepared throughout our live to face this last moment with proper understanding death is a natural sequence of going back home back to Godhead. How many people know this fact or at the time of death are not in the grips of the Yamadutas, (who are fearful ugly agents of Lord Yamaraja who come and rip our subtle bodies out of our gross bodies at the time of death) or fear personified? Most people have no knowledge of what takes place at the time of death or care to think about what is coming at the time of death. Since the eyes of the Lord are everywhere even within each atom there is no escaping the witnessing agents of the sun, moon, daylight, moonlight etc.- we cant hide in the darkness of ignorance to escape the watchful eyes of the Lord. Most people believe they are safe in any cover of darkness or what nonsense they perform behind locked doors or in the dead of night. Few persons have any concept of what is the soul and what happens to the soul when it is ripped out of our present form of life. The soul is with the subtle body which carries the karma incurred in

this present life, we do carry something with us at the time of death- our bad or good karma. When it is said that the sea will give up its dead we need to understand more on what is death? Death is a period of six months where we are in a sleeping condition in the womb of our host mother while our new body is being formed before consciousness starts in the 7th month of pregnancy. Once we do take birth we are given a body composed of dead matter which activates only after the spirit soul enters at the time of conception. Therefore where is the question of death when the body is already dead matter? All living beings must die only to take birth again, so there is no death for the spirit soul only this time of sleeping or waiting until our next body is prepared. So its never that we are pulled out of the sea or our graves at the end of this or any other lifetime to accept Gods condemnation and in this final shame our fate is sealed and our remains are destroyed forever. No, there is no eternal damnation we are certainly punishable for the sins we commit but eventually with some sincere repentance we will eventually make it back into another human life form and formulate another attempt at living a pious life dedicated in service to Lord Krsna the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Can we expect that population of billions the entire world of those who never

read the Bible will discover on May 21, 2011, that they have been left behind in this so- called end of all things? Again from the Bible- Luke 13:28: There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. If Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets are to be thrust out of the mercy of the Lord then certainly those modern day prophets who are screaming about the end of the world will be screaming in the fire and brimstone of their own choosing when they meet their own individual ends. The Day of Judgment comes at the time of our own deathnot on May 21, 2011 or any other random date selected by fools who spin out venom with each breath. If we are not following the four regulative principles as stated above then there is a problem and we will face hellish tortures according to the judgment of Yamaraja. Rather if we are dedicated servants of the Lord and have lead a pious life then upon breathing our last we will be changed instantly into our eternal, spiritual bodies and delivered directly to the spiritual world. This time of so called death can be a wonderful experience or a time of intense suffering and sorrow. What you read here may sound similar to what is said in the Bible but there is a huge

difference from vague interpretations taken from the Bible which has been rewritten several times to suit the needs of man- and the Vedic scriptures which give us a direct link with Lord Krsna the Supreme Personality of Godhead speaking directly unchanged.

Capitol Punishment
A criminal who is executed for taking anothers life is getting his just reward because this death punishment now will save him countless durations of suffering in later lifetimes. When a killer is strapped to the electric chair and the switch is pulled that person is immediately free from the karma of having killed another human being. If the killer goes free and not detected he will suffer untold misery in a number of future bodies. We are Gods created beings and not allowed to take the life of any other living entity. It is not our prerogative to end the life span of any created being, that being will have to again go back to the same type of body and live out the time element of what was cut short by this killer of the body. Worse is the killer of the soul one who takes his or her own life either physically or spiritually. If we are unhappy with the nature of the apartment we are living in why destroy the apartment better make the use of a bad bargain and live comfortably in the body we have until our time frame runs out.

asury nma te loka andhena tamasvt ts te pretybhigacchanti ye ke ctmahano jan "The killer of the soul, whoever he may be, must enter into the planets known as the worlds of the faithless, full of darkness and ignorance." r opaniad (3), Asury means "to be obtained by demons," and demons are persons who have no devotion for the Supreme Lord, Viu. This definition is stated in the Agni Pura: dvau bhta-sargau loke 'smin daiva sura eva ca viu-bhakti-paro daiva suras tad-viparyaya "There are two kinds of created beings in this world, godly and demoniac. Those dedicated to the devotional service of Lord Viu are godly, and those opposed to such service are demoniac." [Bg. 16.6] Similarly, the Bhad-rayaka Upaniad (4.4.15) states, na ced avedn mahat vinai. . . ye tad vidur amts te bhavanty athetare dukham evopayanti: "If one does not come to know the Supreme, he must suffer utter destruction.... Those who realize the Supreme become immortal, but others inevitably suffer." A person must revive his Ka consciousness to be relieved of

the suffering caused by ignorance, but the process by which this is done need not be difficult, as Lord Ka assures us in Bhagavad-gt (9.34): man-man bhava mad-bhakto mad-yj m namaskuru mm evaiyasi yuktvaivam tmna mat-paryaa "Engage your mind in always thinking of Me, become My devotee, offer obeisances to Me and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me." Despite disqualifications and weaknesses, one need only willingly become anuvidha, the Supreme Lord's trusting and trustworthy servant. The Kaha Upaniad (2.2.13) proclaims; nityo nityn cetana cetannm eko bahn yo vidadhti kmn ta pha-ga ye 'nupayanti dhrs te nti vat netarem "Among all the eternal, conscious beings, there is one who supplies the needs of everyone else. The wise souls who worship Him in His abode attain everlasting peace. Others cannot." What is alive, and what is dead? The bodies and minds of materialistic nondevotees seem to display the symptoms of life, but this appearance is deceptive. Actually, the conditioned soul has little

control over his own bodily existence. Against his will, he has to excrete waste, get sick from time to time, and eventually age and die. And in his mind he unwillingly suffers anger, hankering and lamentation. Lord Ka describes this situation as yantrrhni myay (Bg. 18.61), riding helplessly as a passenger in a mechanical vehicle. The soul undoubtedly is alive, and irrevocably so, but in his ignorance that inner life is covered and forgotten. In its place, the automation of the external mind and body carries out the dictates of the modes of nature, which force one to act in a way altogether irrelevant to the dormant needs of the soul. Calling out to the forgetful prisoners of illusion, the vetvatara Upaniad (2.5) urges, vantu vive amtasya putr ye dhmni divyni tasthu "All you sons of immortality, hear, you who once resided in the divine kingdom!" So, on the one hand, what is normally viewed as livingthe material bodyis in actuality a dead machine being manipulated by the modes of nature. And on the other hand, what the materialist condescendingly views as inert matter meant for exploitation is in its unknown essence connected with a living intelligence vastly more potent than his own. The Vedic civilization recognizes

the intelligence behind nature as belonging to demigods who preside over the various elements, and ultimately to the Supreme Lord Himself. Matter, after all, cannot act coherently without the impulse and guidance of a living force. As Ka states in Bhagavad-gt (9.10), maydhyakea prakti syate sacarcaram hetunnena Kaunteya jagad viparivartate "This material nature, which is one of My energies, is working under My direction, O son of Kunt, producing all moving and nonmoving beings. Under its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again." Similarly, rmad-Bhgavatam 10.1.4 states: nivtta-tarair upagyamnd bhavauadhc chrotra-mano-bhirmt ka uttamaloka-gunuvdt pumn virajyeta vin pau-ghnt Who but the animal-killer or the killer of the soul will not care to hear glorification of the Supreme Personality of Godhead? Such glorification is enjoyed by persons liberated from the contamination of this material world. Similarly, rmad-Bhgavatam 3.23.56 says, na trtha-pada-sevyai jvann api mto hi sa: Although a person is apparently living, if he does not serve

the lotus feet of great devotees he is to be considered a dead body. Therefore the first qualification is titikava, tolerant. So many people will criticize, so many people attack, so many opposing elements, and he has to fight with them. Therefore titikava, toleration. Just like you see, Lord Jesus Christ is so tolerant that he was crucified; still, he did not curse anybody. This is sdhu: titikava, tolerant. The very great example of tolerance, Christ, Jesus Christ. So similarly, Haridsa hkura. There are many saintly persons, sdhu, who were very tolerant. So first qualification of sdhu is titikava. Titikava and kruik: at the same time, kind. These two examples we find in the character of Lord Jesus Christ. He was being crucified, and still he was praying to God, "My Lord, they do not know what they are doing." And he was persecuted, and still, he was kind. He was kind. Still, he was praying to God that "These rascals are doing. They cannot kill me, but they are thinking that I will be killed. So they are committing offense." So this is toleration, and kruik. Similarly, there are many examples. Titikava kruik, and suhda sarva-dehinm: [SB 3.25.21] friend of all living entities.

Lord Christ said, "Thou shall not kill." He never said that... Now they are interpreting in a different way: "The animal has no soul, and you can kill animals and keep slaughterhouse." So who is a Christian? I do not know who is a Christian. They profess to be Christian. It is very difficult to find out a true Christian who is strictly following the words of Lord Jesus Christ. So he is a good example of sdhu. We therefore adore and offer our obeisances to Lord Christ. Sdhu, example. Titikava kruik suhda sarva-dehinm [SB 3.25.21]. This is suhda, not that "My brother will be saved, my family will be saved, and all others should be killed." That is not sdhu's qualification. Sdhu's qualification is he is kind to everyone. It is not that if a human being is killed, the killer is also killed. Why? Even a human being is killer of an animal, he should be killed. That is called suhda sarva-dehinm: friend to everyone. Not that "Only the human being should be given protection, he is national, and others animals and trees should not be given protection." No. That is imperfect knowledge. National means one who has taken birth in that land. So do the animals do not take their birth in the land? They are also national, but it is your discriminating law that you are giving protection to the human being and not to the animals. This is sinful

activities. Therefore we say that "No meat-eating." If we give up this meateating, then so many lifes of the poor animals will be saved. So that is sdhu, no meat-eating. Here you will find. In Ka consciousness movement you will find, nobody is meateating. Nobody is prepared to kill even an ant, what to speak of big animal. They put argument that "You are vegetarian, and you are also killing vegetable life." Of course, we are killing. But we are not killing vegetables. First of all, vegetables are not killed. If I take a fruit from the tree, the tree is not killed. Or if I take the grains from the plant, before the grains are ripe the plant dies. So actually there is no question of killing. Although the law is, nature's law is that "One living entity is the food for another living entity." Jvo jvasya jvanam. But a human being should be discriminative. If I can live by eating fruits and grains and milk, why shall I kill animal? This is human consciousness. Milk, if you get milk, you can prepare hundreds of nice preparations, all full of vitamins and nourishing. In our New Vrindaban we are maintaining cows and having so many nice preparations, rbri and lagdu and this pe and baraphi and sandea and rasagull and yogurtvarieties enough. The other farmers they come, they are

surprised, that "Such nice preparation can be made from milk?" Yes, you do not know. You do not know how to utilize the animal. Ignorance. The milk is also produced out of the blood. So it is intelligence. You are drinking the blood in a different way, produced by nature with more vitamin values and more taste and more gentleman. Why should you kill one cow and try to drink the blood? The blood is there already, but in a different form, without any violence. And we have seen it. It is practical experience that if the cows are assured they would not be killed, they will give you double milk. That we have experience.

Suicide
Tormented continuance is the key to the chamber of horrors in killing oneself. Suicide is the greatest offense to the Supreme Lord since this body is created and owned by God, if we take it into our own hands to harm our self then the suffering is accelerated. Suicide means we still have to fulfill the time that had to remain in this gross life as a ghost. In a ghost subtle body the pain will be intensified millions of times for what will seem like an eternality of excruciating pain since the need for gratifying our senses continues inspite of having no gross body to fulfill those karmic material desires, therefore ghosts are notorious for attempting to dwell in weak-willed individuals inorder to

fulfill suppressed gross desires. Ghosts run around on one leg at the speed of mind since they occupy a subtle body, nothing gross to enjoy with so they haunt in their favorite places to enter where ever they can find an opening. Moving at the speed of mind allows them entrance to anything they can desire but with no means of enjoying what they desire leaves them greatly disturbed- hence ghosts are restless. Beginning on May 21, 2011, and continuing for 153 days, the situation on earth will be horrible. The Bible says there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8:11-12, 13:42; Luke 13:28). There no longer will be any possibility of salvation. Thus, there will be no mercy. The Bible describes this time in such lurid language (Deuteronomy 28:16-68; Revelation 9:121), that it may be describing nuclear fallout or something equivalent to nuclear fallout. In any case, death will be in evidence everywhere. And then will come the final day of the earths existence. We read in II Peter 3:10: . . . the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. That awesome day, May 21, 2011, will be preceded by very ordinary days, during

which time, all over the world, it will be business as usual. However, on that day, there will be a super enormous earthquake, so that all over the world, every grave, every burial place will be thrown open. And the remains of people that had been buried there will be thrown out on the ground. (Except for the remains of the true believers because their remains will become a glorious body that is raptured.) This earthquake will create great destruction over all the world, resulting in tsunamis, destroyed water systems and power plants, etc. Thus, there will be great plagues. This will be a time of horrible sorrow for the church people. They had thought that they were the ones who were to be raptured. Suddenly, they will realize that they have been left behind and are under the full wrath of God. They will dramatically realize that they can no longer enjoy the comforts and desires of living in this present world. Much worse, they will know that they are forever cut off from eternal life with Christ and of being inheritors of the new heavens and the new earth. In addition, the will be in great shame in the eyes of those who knew nothing of the Bible but who now see that their Christianity was totally false and hypocritical. More than that, they will be in great shame in the eyes of God and the heavenly principalities and powers. In Gods eyes, their death will be a

shameful execution because they were completely under the curse of God. And they will experience physical pain, which results from the plagues that will occur all over the world. All of them will die (be shamefully executed in Gods eyes) on or before the last day, October 21, 2011. In the fifth century, wrote that the Roman reappeared in the world and that the end of the Sulpicus Severus tyrant Nero had as the Antichrist world was nigh.

A century later Quodvultdeus identified the Book of Revelation's Gog and Magog as the Goths and the Moors and predicted the world to end "in three years and six months." In a meeting with Richard the LionHearted in 1191, the seer Joachim stated that the Antichrist had already been born in the world and that the day of judgment was forthcoming. (In his lifetime, Joachim's reputation was such that he was consulted in his mountain retreat by four popes and was visited by kings, queens, and other members of royalty.) European Christians in the thirteenth century regarded Genghis Khan, the beheader of Prester John, as an apocalyptic figure. The popular view was that the world would end in 1265.

In the 1360s, Jan Milicz pronounced Emperor Charles IV to be the Antichrist; once more doomsday was at hand. William Miller, the founder of the movement that was to spawn the Seventh Day Adventists, predicted the world to end on April 3, 1843; July 7, 1843; March 21, 1844; and October 22, 1844. More recently, the Jehovah's Witnesses have predicted the world to end sometime in 1975 and also on October 2, 1984. Presently there are an estimated seven to eight million evangelical Christians who expected the world to end in the 1980s. [Your Own Apocalypse]
End of the world December 21 2012 "THE REAL DOOMSDAY" by P. Jani
These cylinders are usually quite orderly because the planets adhere to a narrow plane, called the ecliptic which resembles a thin plate extending from the equator of the Sun. The planets hang out here because (in simple terms) this is the zone where the gravitation of the system is the strongest. (see below)

But nature is never perfect. The Sun rotates at a slight angle (7.25 degrees), much as our Earth does. As it wobbles, it tilts the sleeves, causing them to clash with eachother and eventually disrupt the surface. Havine the barycenters of the to most massive planets, Jupiter and Saturn, in maximum

misalignment is especially disruptive. This disturbance, to put it simply, works its way to the surface and erupts in sun spots and solar flares or CME's (Coronal Mass Ejections). The last solar cycle was at its maximum in 2001. Each active solar cycle has a period when the flares are strongest, usually happening near the solar equator, called the "solar maximum." This is significant because the next "solar maximum" event will coincide with December 21, 2012. But wait -- there's much more! Prior to December 2012 we have been drifting on the top of the pizza, never really able to see the bottom. The plate and pizza are not parallel. They are moving at different angles. We've been drifting down, down, down... and on December 21st, 2012, we will be exactly level with the crust -- forming an "x" at the Galactic Equator where galactic gravity is the strongest. After 2012, if we are still here, we will be passing through the bottom zone, viewing the Milky Way pizza from the South. Yes, there's even more!

By some amazing coincidence, not only will we be intersecting with the Galactic Equator, but we will be doing this precisely aligned with the center of the Galaxy where there is maximum mass! More mass means more gravity. More gravity means more influence from those barycenters in our Sun. That means exponential increases in solar disruptions -- all coinciding on the same day! Whew! http://www.mayanmajix.com/cycles.swf

10 failed doomsday prophecies

Scientists have listed ten failed doomsday prophecies, which undermines the seriousness of the 2012 end of the world prediction by the ancient Mayans. According to National geographic News, the first failed domsday prophecy was when some ancient Romans saw the A.D. 79 eruption of Mount Vesuvius as a sign of a coming apocalypse, which never came.

Then, there is the case of many Christian Europeans entering the year 1666 with trepidation, as the Bible describes 666 as the ominous Number of the Beast. A prolonged plague that had wiped out much of London's populace in 1665 didn't help assuage fears, and when the Great Fire of London occurred, many believed their time had come.

The appearance of Halley's comet in 1910 stirred apocalyptic hysteria among Europeans and Americans, many of whom believed that the comet's tail contained a gas "that would impregnate the atmosphere and possibly snuff out all life on the planet," according to French astronomer Camille Flammarion, as quoted in the book Apocalypses.

Since its founding in the 1870s, the Jehovah's Witnesses, a Christian offshoot, had prophesied that the world would end in 1914. Though nothing of the sort happened in 1914, ever since then, the religion's followers have been predicting that the world will end "shortly."

Author Richard Noone predicted that on May 5, 2000, the planets would perfectly align and end

life as we know it by sending melting ice barreling toward Earth's Equator.

Television evangelist Pat Robertson preached that sometime in the 1980s, Jesus would return to Earth, after the biblical doomsday event known as the Rapture. Doom and gloom can also spark scientific innovation, as occurred in 1774 in Friesland, Germany. A vicar hoping to boost his congregation circulated a "little book of doom" that said the solar system would be demolished during an upcoming conjunction.

The extremely bright comet Hale-Bopp, discovered in 1995, last buzzed Earth in March 1997, when out of frenzy, thirty-nine people, part of a religious group called Heaven's Gate, committed suicide, believing that a UFO riding the comet's wake would rescue them from a doomed Earth.

Then, there was the case of the Y2K bug at the end of the 20th century. It was predicted that a bug caused by a calculation error would cripple

computers and other machines and lead to mass chaos, none of which actually happened. When the Large Hadron Collider fired up in September 2009, some critics speculated that the world's biggest atom smasher could spawn a black hole that would devour Earth, which was proven to be incorrect when the machine was actually started. Aside from this deception of world oblivion, if you are searching for the absolute truth and have some discriminating power then look closer at the matter of a much greater importance- like when we will personally meet our own final destiny. We should know clearly what our purpose is in this human life form. We all know death is certain but who is capable of understanding that ones own death is always close at hand. Why worry about the atom bomb falling on our head or the fall out "nuclear winter?" So what if firestorms sweep our home town covering us with soot and ash which will block out all sunlight for years to come? So what if the average temperature on earth may drop forty degrees and destroy all life forms. What power do we have in our hands to make any change in this world? Why worry about STAR WARS or any of the latest destructive powers that now exist? How is it possible for anyone to conjecture on Mutual Assured Destruction for the entire world? Have we any choice to dis-favor the continued development of offensive nuclear weapons. Space-based nuclear missile defense system designed to destroy nuclear missiles far above the surface of the earth seemed like a good thing at one time. Such a system we thought would prevent another nuclear war. Take it from any angle; religious, political, technological perspective, or any mundane consensus on the possibility of the

destruction of this worldits all speculation. War and destruction are part of our daily life style, now with our brave war correspondents we see mass killing in the comfort of our living room. We see death all around us, but we never believe or see our own death fast approaching. If we had the ability to see when we would die most persons would change their lifestyle drastically or suffer a complete mental breakdown. Theoretically we can understand that everyone and all things must pass, but no will really look close enough to see the ultimate truth- you and I and all things alive also must pass on. We have to understand fully that all things originate and finish within the hands of the Supreme Lord. If we are to meet an early fate then this has been in the cards since our birth. In the beginning of our earthly existence since our first breath all things are calculated to measure out according to what we did in our last life. Believe it the Supreme Lord is in control at all times it is only our independent free will that carrys us into tight situations or early death. Back in 1961 when I started attending art school one ghostly haunted young fellow was sitting in the corner clutching his Bible proclaiming the world and all things material was soon to end. Because of this inside knowledge he quit the school and headed for the mountains to try and find a safe place to hide. There is no safe place

to hide when destiny calls. Our time in this body is temporary and there is nothing we can do to extend our life span. Death is certain for all of us; this is the concern we should all be focused on- not when the world will end rather when our own life will end. All life forms have their birth, productive years with some by-products then finally death. Everything is relegated at birth according to our activities from our previous form of life. The story I heard years ago that one fellow living in London during the German bombing of World War II decided to make an escape and find a deserted island some where in the Pacific and settle out the remaining years of the war. He had enough and wanted to escape all traces of fighting and killing. He ended up on an island called Midway which took the heaviest beating during the war with Japan. Karma is such a thing that no one can escape the fate that is dictated at birth. It is true we have free will but karma is left over from our past life and will act according to the degree of our volunteering to serve Lord Krsna the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The analogy of the running fan is appropriate, we may surrender and decide to actively serve God in all respects but still a token degree of karma may still be running. In most cases devotees or servants of the Lord also receive token degrees of the retort of past karma which is attached to all living entities through the checks and balances of our previous karmic

reactions delivered at birth. What to speak of those human beings who willingly violate the laws of God? Any sincere person facing difficulties in life must understand that he is receiving just a token shadow of what should normally be coming according to past life activities. We all have a price to pay since we are living in this human life form. The material world is a prison house and we are all sentenced to death. Difficult times will come and go, therefore, we need to ride the waves of time and face the reality. If we seem to be receiving an unusual amount of heavy reactions or bad luck for no apparent reason the recommendation is to seek out the cause which might be karma coming in now from a past life experience. There are ways and means of countering any amount of heavy negativity which might be destroying our normal means of existence. If we consider that death can come at any moment then we would plan out our existence in a different manner. We might make a list of the things we want to do before the curtain closes on this life form. If we could really see death fast approaching we would immediately understand that now is the time to make something solid happen which would give us a sense of understanding and rationale before we are again kicked out of this temporary body. What is this human form of life is all about, what is the highest purpose in life? Lets look deeper into cause and effect of life and death.

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada comments; Regulated human civilization promotes dharma, artha, kma and moka. [There are four objectives in human life-namely, religiosity (dharma), economic development (artha), sense gratification (kma), and liberation (moka) from the bondage of material existence. People generally aspire for religiosity, economic development and sense gratification, but a devotee has no other desire than to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead both in this life and in the next. The special mercy for the unalloyed devotee is that the Lord saves him from hard labor to achieve the results of religion, economic development and sense gratification. SB 6.11.23] In human society there must be religion. Without religion, human society is only animal society. Economic development and sense gratification must be based on religious principles. When religion, economic development and sense gratification are adjusted, liberation from this material birth, death, old age and disease is assured. In the present age of Kali, however, there is no question of religion and liberation. People have taken interest only in economic development and sense gratification. Therefore, despite sufficient economic development all over the world, dealings in human society have

become almost animalistic. When everything becomes grossly animalistic, dissolution takes place. This dissolution is to be accepted as avidhvasitim. The Lord's so-called blessings of economic development and sense gratification will be conclusively dissolved by destruction. At the end of this Kali-yuga, [427,000 years from now] the Lord will appear as the incarnation of Kalki, and His only business will be to kill all degraded human beings on the surface of the globe. After that killing, another golden age will begin. We should therefore know that our material activities are just like childish play. Children may play on the beach, and the father will sit and watch this childish play, the construction of buildings with sand, the construction of walls and so many things, but finally the father will ask the children to come home. Then everything is destroyed. Persons who are too much addicted to the childish activities of economic development and sense gratification are sometimes especially favored by the Lord when He destroys their construction of these things. Due to monetary transactions, relationships become very strained and end in enmity. Sometimes the husband and wife walk on the path of material progress, and to maintain their relationship they work very hard. Sometimes due to scarcity of money or due to diseased conditions, they are embarrassed and almost die. SB 5.13.13 PURPORT In this material world, there are many transactions between peoples and societies as well as between nations, but gradually these end in enmity between the two parties. Similarly, in the marriage relationship, monetary transactions are sometimes overpowered by the dangerous conditions of material life. One then becomes diseased or monetarily embarrassed. In the modern age most countries have developed economically, but due to business exchanges, relationships seem to be strained. Finally wars are declared between nations, and as a result of these upheavals there is destruction all over the world, and people suffer heavily. ruti pratyakam aitihyam anumna catuayam pramev anavasthnd vikalpt sa virajyate From the four types of evidenceVedic knowledge, direct experience, traditional wisdom and logical inductionone can

understand the temporary, insubstantial situation of the material world, by which one becomes detached from the duality of this world. SB 11.19.17 PurportIn the ruti, or Vedic literature, it is clearly stated that everything emanates from the Absolute Truth, is maintained by the Absolute Truth and at the end is conserved within the Absolute Truth. Similarly, by direct experience we can observe the creation and destruction of great empires, cities, buildings, bodies and so on. Furthermore, we find all around the world traditional wisdom warning people that things in this world cannot last. Finally, by logical induction we can easily conclude that nothing in this world is permanent. Material sense gratificationup to the highest possible living standard found in the heavenly planets or down to the lowest conditions in the most repugnant precincts of hellis always unsteady and prone to collapse at any moment. One should therefore develop vairgya, detachment, as stated here. Another meaning of this verse is that the four types of evidence cited here are often mutually contradictory in their description of the highest truth. One should therefore be detached from the duality of mundane evidence, including the portions of the Vedas that deal with the material world. Instead, one should

accept the Supreme Personality of Godhead as the actual authority. Both in Bhagavad-gt and here in rmadBhgavatam Lord Ka is personally speaking, and thus there is no need to enter into the bewildering network of competing systems of mundane logic. One can directly hear from the Absolute Truth Himself and immediately acquire perfect knowledge. One thereby becomes detached from inferior systems of knowledge, which cause one to hover on the material mental platform. SB 11.19.17 Krsna Book Chap. 73. Lord Krsna delivering His instructions to the kings and princes imprisoned by King Jarsandha; Every one of you must understand that anything material has its starting point, growth, maintenance, expansion, deterioration and, finally, disappearance. All material bodies are subject to these six conditions, and any relative acquisitions accumulated by this body are definitely subject to final destruction. Therefore, no one should be attached to perishable things. As long as one is within this material body he should be very cautious in worldly dealings. The most perfect way of life in this material world is simply to be devoted to My transcendental loving service and to execute honestly the prescribed duties of ones particular

position. As far as you are concerned, you all belong to katriya families. Therefore, you should live honestly, according to the prescribed duties befitting the royal order, and make your citizens happy in all respects. Keep to the standard of katriya life. Do not beget children out of sense gratification, but simply take charge of the welfare of the people in general. Everyone takes birth in this material world in continuation of his previous life, and thus he is subject to the stringent laws of nature, such as birth and death, distress and happiness, profit and loss. One should not be disturbed by duality but should always be fixed in My devotional service and thus remain balanced in mind and satisfied in all circumstances, considering all things to be given by Me. Thus one can live a very happy and peaceful life, even within this material condition. In other words, one should actually be callous to the material body and its by-products and should be unaffected by them. One should remain fully satisfied in the interests of the spirit soul and engage in the service of the Supersoul. One should engage his mind only in thinking of Me, one should simply become My devotee, one should simply Worship Me, and one should offer his respectful obeisances unto Me alone. In this way, one can cross over this ocean of nescience very easily and

at the end come back to Me. In conclusion, your lives should constantly be engaged in My service. In the spiritual world everything is eternal and unlimited, theres no presence of time. Everything there is fully transcendental everlasting, complete in knowledge and bliss without any deterioration. Here in the material world everything is annihilated repetitively therefore the time frame between the beginning and end of creation is temporary. Here in this material realm we have to with stand the rigors of measured corrosion, we are clouded with the time factor and subjected to karmic reactions past, present and future. The reverse is true of the spiritual world where time is conspicuous by its absence. Complications of living in this material dominion plague our actions and reactions within this interplay of our universal space composed of gross elements. The six material changes rotating in cycles of birth, growth, existence, transformations, deterioration and annihilation are all non-existent in the spiritual world. In the realm above this gross material creation is a world where everyone worships and enjoys the eternal association of the Supreme Lord. There He is eternally present and there is a variety of means to inter-relate as followers of the Lord. No one in the spiritual world entertains the thought to enjoy separately from the Supreme Lord. No one tries to usurp the position of God- like what happens on a

daily basis within this material domain; there all created beings are subordinate to Lord Krsna. There are two different kinds of annihilation; partial at the end of Lord Brahmas day, then a full on devastation at the end of Lord Brahmas life. The duration of Kali-yuga is 432,000 years. At the end of this Kali Yuga there is another semipartial, devastation which is still another 427,000 years away, where all misguided demoniac humans are killed by Kalki Avatar the last incarnation of this age. Then again the first of the four ages of time beginsSaty-yuga the golden age, where people are generally in the mode of goodness, all persons living in this age are 100% pious and religious. This is followed by Tretayuga, where things begin to deteriorate. Then there is Dvpara-yuga, where things are degraded even more. And finally Kali-yuga, which is the most degraded age. Kali-yuga began 5,000 years ago; it is 432,000 years long, but it is the shortest of the four ages, which are in constant cycle. For those who are living in this future time zone 427,000 years from now- there will be a clash between the material and anti-material worlds thus causing the annihilation of the material world. The anti-material world or spiritual world is never annihilated it is eternal full of bliss and knowledge. The Vedic literatures gives us a perfect calculation for the real total destruction

of this creation and the end of all things material which comes 4300000 x 1000 x 2 x 30 x 12 x 100 of solar years or 310+ trillion solar years away. This happens on the inbreath of Maha Visnu. When this direct expansion of Lord Krsna exhales then all created matter again returns to its original state- then the process begins again. All forms of life again resume their karmic place in the various universes. And there are many universes not just this little bubble in which this earth planet is located, there is no place where there is not life- on the sun, in this planet, and all other planets in this universe and all other universes created. All the combined universes are like sesame seeds in a big bag, and the bag is supported by a giant snake called Ananta Sesa. Only those fortunate surrender souls who are dedicated loving servants of the Supreme Lord can fully appreciate the inner workings of this material creation in all its complexities. Imagine there is a form of the Lord wherein universes pass out through the pores of His skin like beads of perspiration. How big is God? We cant measure the space taken up by the Supreme Lord or the legroom in between. Lord Krsna is unlimited in all respects, better not to waste time trying to measure the unlimited nature of the Lord when it is far easier and more beneficial to offer unalloyed devotional service and eventually enter into an eternal loving relationship.

Srila Prabhupada; You have asked what is the mentality of the demons who attacked New Vrndavana and why did this happen? You should know this already, that there are two classes of men, devotees and demons. The whole history is that the peaceful devotees are disturbed by the demons but that the devotees are always victorious by the grace of Krsna. In the Bhagavad-git Krsna ordered Arjuna to declare to the whole world that His devotees would never be vanquished. And in the last verse of the Gita, Sanaka says wherever there is Krsna and Krsna's pure devotee Arjuna there will always be opulence, victory, extraordinary power and moralitytatra srir vijayo bhutir dhruva nitir matir mama. But because we are engaged in warfare with the forces of Maya, there will be casualties. Even Arjuna's son, Abhimanyu a 16-year-old boy was killed at the battle of Kuruksetra. We should be prepared to protect the Deities and always expect Krsna's Mercy, because we are always dependent on Him and we cannot do anything on our own without Him. You have asked about whether nuclear devastation on this planet would effect the Sankirtana Movement. No, there is nothing that can stop the Sankirtana Movement because it is the will of God Himself, Lord Caitanya, that His Holy Name be heard in every town and village. Neither can the demons devastate this

planet independent of the will of Krsna. Nothing happens without His sanction. If Krsna wants to kill someone no one can save Him, and if Krsna wants to save someone no one can kill him. For our parts we should just be determined to carry out our mission against all opposition, demons, nuclear war, whatever. The whole universe is finally subject to certain annihilation by the will of Krsna, but devotional service is eternal and is the only certain way one can save himself from devastation. We can preach all over the world that the only way to be saved from collective and individual devastation is to take to the chanting of Hare Krsna. In short, this material world is a very precarious place therefore we should always chant Hare Krsna and seek Krsna's protection. Hoping this will meet you in good health. Your ever well wisher, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami THE GOD PARTICLE The new massive (17-mile/ 27-kilometer circular tunnel with cathedral-sized detectors) Hadron Collider in Geneva is expected to generate the GOD PARTICLE which some people feel could create a black hole that would suck in the world. In reality the Hadron is the black hole which

has sucked up over $10 billion and 8,970 physicists, the machine worked only nine days yet thousands of physicists around the world, say this machine will work and will provide crucial information to mankind's understanding of the universe. Scientists with backgrounds in physics and cosmology hope the collider will unlock secrets of the universe- a window on creation. Genesis left us some unanswered questions, now these scientists think the fragments that come off the collisions will show on a tiny scale what happened one-trillionth of a second after the so-called Big Bang, which many scientists theorize was the massive explosion that formed the universe. The theory holds that the universe was rapidly cooling at that stage and matter was changing quickly. This machine is an example of the total misunderstanding of the creation and mans misdirected intelligence. First there was no big bang, this machine has no scope for opening any window except for sucking up more investment from all the nations involved. Nothing is created out of chaos. Lord Krsna is fully in-control of all things created in the past, present, and future. Creation begins with the first created being- Lord Brahma who initiated all things material, yet he is created. God being God is the sole instrument behind all things manifested. The Vedic scriptures give detailed information concerning each part of the series of events that take place during each new material conception. If the

myopic persons who call themselves scientists would look towards Indias vast reservoir of knowledge science would become the sharpened tool to unlock the mysteries of this universe. a worthwhile branch of understanding. sargm dir anta ca madhya caivham arjuna adhytma-vidy vidyn vda pravadatm aham Of all creations I am the beginning and the end and also the middle, O Arjuna. material qualities of the Supreme Lord. Therefore He is the beginning, the middle and the end of all creation. In a total devastation after the life span of Lord Brahma all living creatures, all life forms on all planets of this manifest material creation are systematically destroyed including all planets in all universes. We human beings are basically gross machines but within each of us is one very sophisticated sub- microscopic antimaterial particle. Life supporting material matter is driven and maintained by this one God particle called soul, without the presence of soul there is only gross matter. In all forms of life; microbe, plant, aquatics, animal, and human there is a soul present. The prominent Christian belief that animals have no soul is a joke, everything has soul or there is no life. Without this infinitesimal God particle which is 10,000 times smaller than the tip of a hair there is no possibility of any form of life. In the human life form like all other life forms the soul is present at conception. The presence of soul is indicated by consciousness, when the soul leaves the body there is no consciousness. The body being dead matter is no longer driven by this God particle and like all dead matter it decays and returns to its natural state of base gross elements. Now the soul being eternal

moves on, the soul transmigrates to another gross body or with a little good luck leaves this material creation and returns to its natural state of eternality, bliss and knowledge. Or in simple terms we win the lottery and bankrupt the substance bank and returns to the spiritual world. Congratulations are in order for anyone who is intelligent enough to disassociate from this prison house and all the phantom allurements which entangle all suspecting little lords that populate this playground of illusions. The title over the door in any funhouse in any carnival and the factor covering this entire earth planet is called phantasmagoria. Now you see it now you dont- the curved mirrors show some grand distortions which look real enough but looking closer we see nothing behind the illusions. Gaze a diminutive introspective scrutiny at all that surrounds us; wife, family, friends, bank account, car, and all material possessions- all are elements in the maze to bind and blind us- ropes that lead us into thinking we are the doer- we are in control. These are not possessions we are possessed and processed into another tailspin into one more womb and again slide out into another set of chattels and identification detected for one more everlasting round of dawn and twilightdeath is always waiting. There is some hope for those who are captivated by the vagina, if you are set on returning to the womb and enjoy that space which has a thin veneer of

pleasure- be careful it is natures deepest darkest well so dont hesitate and know for sure once death comes all are given the guarantee to return to that sacred security system- Samsara. Lord Brahm, situated in that lotus, could not perfectly understand the creation, the lotus or himself. At the end of the millennium the air of devastation began to move the water and the lotus in great circular waves. PURPORT Lord Brahm was perplexed about his creation, the lotus and the world, even though he tried to understand them for one millennium, which is beyond calculation in the solar years of human beings. No one, therefore, can know the mystery of the creation and cosmic manifestation simply by mental speculation. The human being is so limited in his capacity that without the help of the Supreme he can hardly understand the mystery of the will of the Lord in terms of creation, continuance and destruction. SB 3.8.18 If we ignore the primary function of this human life form we will again be dissolved and will remain for millions of years inside the body of Maha Visnu. Unless we elevate ourselves and approach this region of antimaterial meaning the spiritual world the principal function in this human life form will be wasted. If we are looking for

immortality it is available, we can transfer ourselves as eternal divine sparks called spirit soul and take the fast track journey through time and space and leave this material launch pad never to return again to suffer the three fold miseries of material existence. How? Just chant this simple mantra non- stop; Ka Ka, Hare Hare/ Hare Rma, Hare Rma, Rma Rma, Hare Hare. We are immortal, we are eternal, we are residents of the spiritual world we only need to recognize our true position and regain what we have misplaced. If we want to take the cure for relief of repeated birth, old age disease and death then we need to approach the proper physician who can prescribe the appropriate medicine. If you approach some quack and take snake tonic then become a snake. If you approach a boni-fied spiritual master then the proper medicine is available. Dealing with anti-material activities requires special medicine which is not available in any drug store. We need to place ourselves under the treatment of an expert transcendental physician other wise there is no cure for the tribulations of repeated birth, death, illness and old age. Inorder to go 'Back to Godhead' and transfer ourselves to this anti-material world where there is eternal life or no birth and no death then we need such a spiritual master. The anti-material world means spiritual world which is far away from this earthly

existence, in the spiritual world there is no time element life is eternal full of bliss and knowledge. For any material scientists to understand this concept of eternality and the complete separation of material and spiritual it appears to be a direct insult to their rational intelligence. Modern science has long since put God out of the picture. God might be some invisible force or light. Nothing personal my dear scientists but God is a person we are indeed created in His form and carry a minute spark of the Lords unlimited energy. Our consciousness depends totally on the mercy of the Lord. If at any time He wants to remove the spark from any material body this is death. At any time we can be annihilated, accordingly there is a set time frame designed for all things created. Everything material has its prescribed life span which is tailor made and given to us individually at birth, when that time is reached all the material things are obliterated. Disciple: The other day, rla Prabhupda, you were saying that in India, at least until recently, it has been forbidden to eat cowsthat those who ate animals would eat only dogs and goats. rla Prabhupda: Yes. For meat-eaters, that is what the Vedic culture recommends: "Eat dogs. As in Korea they are eating dogs, so you also can eat dogs. But don't eat cows until after they have died a natural death. We don't say, "Don't eat. You are so very fond of eating cows. All right, you can eat them, because after their death we have to give them to somebody, some living entity. Generally, cow carcasses are given to the vultures. But then, why only to the vultures? Why not to the modern "civilized" people, who are as good as vultures? [Laughter.] These so-called civilized peoplewhat is the difference between these rascals and vultures? The vultures also enjoy killing and then eating the dead body. "Make it dead and then enjoy"people have become vultures. And their civilization is a vulture civilization. Animal eaters they're like jackals, vultures, dogs. Flesh is not human food. Here in the Vedic culture is civilized food, human

food: milk, fruit, vegetables, nuts, grain. Let them learn it. Uncivilized rogues, vultures, rkasas [demons]and they're leaders. Therefore I say that today the leaders are all fourth-class men. And that is why the whole world is in a chaotic condition. We require learned spiritual teachersfirst-class mento lead. My disciples are training to become first-class men. If people will take our advice, then everything will be all right. What is the use of fourthclass men leading? If I speak so frankly, people will be very angry. But basically, their leaders are all fourth-class. First-class men are great devotees of the Lord, who can guide the administrators and the citizens through their words and practical example. Second class men are administrative, military men, who look after the smooth running of the government and the safety of the citizens. And third-class men are farmers, who grow crops and protect the cows. But today who is protecting the cows? That is the third-class men's business. So therefore everyone is fourth-class or lower. va-vivarhora-kharai sastuta purua pau [rmad-Bhgavatam 2.3.19]: people are living just like animalswithout regulative, spiritual principlesand from among themselves they are electing the biggest animals. Anyone can do whatever

he likes, whatever he thinksno regulative principles. But human life is meant for regulative principles. We are insisting that our students follow regulative principlesno meat-eating, no illicit sex, no intoxication, no gamblingjust to make them real human beings. Without regulative principles it is animal life. Animal life. In the human form of life, after passing through millions of lives in the plant and animal species, the spirit soul gets the chance to take up the yoga systemand yoga means strict regulative principles. Indriya-sayamacontrolling the senses. That is the real yoga system. But today most people, though they may say they are practicing yogathey are misusing it. Just like the animals, they cannot control their senses. As human beings, they have higher intelligence; they should learn how to control the senses. This is human life. Na yat-karapathopeto: one who has not heard the message of Ka, the Supreme Personality of Godheadeven for a momenthe's an animal. The general masses of people, unless they are trained systematically for a higher standard of life in spiritual values, are no better than animals. They are on the level of dogs, hogs, camels, and asses. Modern university education practically prepares one to acquire a doggish mentality for accepting the service of a greater

master. Like the dogs, after finishing their so-called education the so-called educated persons move from door to door with applications for some service. We have this experience in India. There are so many educated men who are unemployed because they have been educated as dogs. They must find a master; otherwise they have no power to work independently. Just like a dogunless he finds a master, he is a street dog, loitering in the street. Disciple: So many Ph.D.'s are graduating from school now that there are not enough jobs for them. So they have to take jobs as truck drivers or taxi drivers. They're supposed to be the educated class, too brhmaas. rla Prabhupda: No, they are not brhmaas. Those who give education in exchange for moneythey are not brhmaas. For instance, we are lecturing, educating people. We don't say, "Give us a salary." We simply ask them, "Please come." That is why we are cooking food and holding so many free festivals. "We'll give you food. Well give you a comfortable seat. Please come and hear about self-realization and God consciousness. We are not asking money "First of all pay the fee; then you can come and learn Bhagavad-gt." We never say that. But these so-called teachers who first of all bargain for a salary "What salary will you give me?"that is a

dog's concern. That is not a brhmaas concern. A brhmaa will never ask about a salary. A brhmaa is eager to see that people are educated. "Take free education and be educated; be a human being"this is a brhmaas concern: You see? I came here not to ask for any money but to give instruction. Disciple; Today the priests are afraid to speak too stronglyor else they'll be fired and get no salary. And the politiciansthey're afraid to speak. They're afraid that they'll be voted out or get no more money to support themselves. rla Prabhupda: The priests are after money. They are not first-class; they are low-class men. This is the reason that Christianity has fallen down. The priests cannot speak straightforwardly. There is a straightforward commandment"Thou shall not kill." But because people are already killing, the priests are afraid to present the commandment straightforwardly. Now they are even granting man-to-man marriage, what to speak of other things. The priests are sermonizing on this idea of man-to-man marriage. Just see how degraded they have become. Previously was there any conception like this, at least outside America? Nobody thought that a man could be married to another man. What is this?

And the priests are supporting it. Do you know that? So what is their standard? Disciple: That priest who visited was telling you that he was asking all his parishioners to follow God's law. So you asked him if he was going to get them to follow the Fifth Commandment, the law against killingincluding animal killing and especially cow killing. rla Prabhupda: Yes, this is our proposal: "Why should you kill the cow? Let the cow be protected. You can take the cow's milk and use this milk for making so many nutritious, delicious preparations. Aside from that, as far as meat-eating is concerned, every cow will dieso you just wait a while, and there will be so many dead cows. Then you can take all the dead cows and eat. So how is this a bad proposal? If you say, "You are restraining us from meat-eating"no, we don't restrain you. We simply ask you, "Don't kill. When the cow is dead, you can eat it." Disciple: You've pointed out that the cow is just like a mother. rla Prabhupda: Yes. She gives us her milk. Disciple: But in the West now, when their parents grow old the people generally send them away to old age homes. So if people have no compassion even toward

their own parents, how them to protect the cow?

can

we

educate

rla Prabhupda: They don't have to protect the cow. We shall protect the cow. Simply we ask them, "Don't purchase meat from the slaughterhouse. We shall supply you the cow after her death." Where is the difficulty? Disciple: Not enough meat fast enough they're eating so much meat. rla Prabhupda: "Not enough"? By killing the cows, how will you get any more meat? The total number of cows will remain the same. Simply wait for their natural death. That is the only restriction. You have got a limited number of cows. Either you wait for their death or you kill them at oncethe number of cows is the same. So we simply ask you, "Don't kill them. Wait for their natural death and then take the meat. What is the difficulty? And we simply ask you, "As long as they're alive, let us take the cow's milk and prepare delicious foods for the whole human society." Disciple: If people don't kill the cows then they will have even more meat, because that way the cows will have more time to reproduce more cows. If they don't kill the cows right away, there will be even more cows.

rla Prabhupda: More cows, yes. They'll have more cows. We simply request, "Don't kill. Don't maintain slaughterhouses. That is very sinful. It brings a very awkward karmic reaction upon society. Stop these slaughterhouses. We don't say, "Stop eating meat. You can eat meat, but don't take it from the slaughterhouse, by killing. Simply wait and you'll get the carcasses. After all, how long will the cows live? Their maximum age is twenty years, and there are many cows who live only eighteen, sixteen, or ten years. So wait that much time; then regularly get dead cows and eat. What is the difficulty? For the first few years you may not get quite as much as now. During that time you an eat some dogs and cats. [Laughter] Yes. In Korea they eat dogs. What is the difference between here and Korea? You can also eat dogs for the time being. Or hogs. Eat hogs. We don't prohibit the killing of these less important animals. We neither sanction nor prohibit. But especially we request cow protection, because it is ordered by Lord Ka. Go-rakya: "Protect the cows. That is our duty. And economically, also, it is very useful. Ka has not recommended this for nothing; it is not like that. Ka's order has meaning. The cows on our Hare Ka farms are giving more milk than other cowsbecause they are confident, "We will not be killed here. It is not

like these rascals, these so-called Christians say: "They have no soul; they have no intelligence. They have intelligence. In other places they do not give so much milk. But on our farms they are very jolly. As soon as the devotees call, they'll come. Yesjust like friends. And they are confident, "Well not be killed." So they are jubilant and they are giving much milk. Yes. In Europe and America the cows are very good, but the cow killing system also is very good. So you stop this. You simply request them, "You'll get the cow's flesh. As soon as she is dead, we shall supply you free of charge. You haven't got to pay so much money. You can get the flesh free and eat it then. Why are you killing? Stop these slaughterhouses. What is wrong in this proposal? We don't want to stop trade, or the production of grains and vegetables and fruit. But we want to stop these killing houses. It is very, very sinful. That is why all over the world they have so many wars. Every ten or fifteen years there is a big wara wholesale slaughterhouse for humankind. But these rascalsthey do not see it, that by the law of karma, every action must have its reaction. You are killing innocent cows and other animalsnature will take revenge. Just wait. As soon as the time is right, nature will gather all these

rascals and slaughter them. Finished. They'll fight amongst themselves Protestants and Catholics, Russia and America, this one and that one. It is going on. Why? This is nature's law. Tit for tat. "You have killed. Now you kill yourselves." They are sending animals to the slaughterhouse, and now they'll create their own slaughterhouse. [Imitating gunfire] Tung! Tung! Kill! Kill! You see? Just take Belfast, for example. The Roman Catholics are killing the Protestants, and the Protestants are killing the Catholics. This is nature's law. It's not necessary that you be sent to the ordinary slaughterhouse. You'll make a slaughterhouse at home. You'll kill your own childabortion. This is nature's law. Who are these children being killed? They are these meat-eaters. They enjoyed themselves when so many animals were killed, and now they're being killed by their mothers. People do not know how nature is working. If you kill, you must be killed. If you kill the cow, who is your mother, then in some future lifetime your mother will kill you. Yes. The mother becomes the child, and the child becomes the mother. M sa khdatti msa. The Sanskrit word is msa. Mm means "me" and sa means "he." I am killing this animal; I am eating him. And in my next lifetime

he'll kill me and eat me. When the animal is sacrificed, this mantra is recited into the ear of the animal"You are giving your life, so in your next life you will get the opportunity of becoming a human being. And I who am now killing you will become an animal, and you will kill me. So after understanding, this mantra, who will be ready to kill an animal? Disciple; Many people today are discussing this topic of reincarnation, but they don't understand the significance of the effects ... rla Prabhupda: How will they understand? All dull-headed fools and rascals, dressed like gentlemen. That's all. Tvac ca obhate mrkho yvat kicin na bhate. A rascal, a fool, is prestigious as long as he does not speak. As soon as he speaks, his nature will be revealedwhat he really is. Therefore that priest who came did not stay long. He did not want to expose himself. [Laughter.] Disciple : Less intelligent. rla Prabhupda: Now, we must take to agricultural workproduce food and give protection to the cow. And if we produce a surplus, we can trade. It is a simple thing that we must do. Our people should live peacefully in farming villages, produce grain and fruit and vegetables,

give protection to the cows, and work hard. And if there is a surplus, we can start restaurants. Ka conscious people will never be losers by following the instructions of Ka. They will live comfortably, without any material want, and tyaktv deha punar janma naiti [Bg. 4.9]: after leaving this body they will go directly to God. This is our way of life. So open restaurants in any part of any city and make nice kacaurs, rkhaa, purs, halav, and so many other delicacies. And people will purchase them. They will come and sit down. I have given the format: "Every preparation is readyyou can sit down. This is our standard charge for a meal. Now, as much as you like you take. You can take one helping or two, three, fouras much as you like. But don't waste. Don't waste. Suppose one man eats a single savory and another man eats four savories. That does not mean we shall charge more. Same charge. Same charge. "You can sit down, eat to your heart's content, and be satisfied. Let everyone be satisfied. "We will supply. Simply don't waste." This is our program. Not that each time just as the hotel doeseach time a plate is brought, immediately a bill. No. "You can sit down and eat to your satisfaction. The charge stays the same."

Disciple : I think people will leave the restaurant with their pockets full of savories. [Laughter.] rla Prabhupda: allow. That we shall not

Disciple: You were telling us one time that in India, if a person has a mango orchard and you're hungry you can come in and eat, but you cannot take any away with you. rla Prabhupda: Yes. If you have a garden and somebody says, "I want to eat some fruit, you'll say, "Yes, come on. Take as much fruit as you like." But he should not gather up more than he can eat and take it away. Any number of men can come and eat to their satisfaction. The farmers do not even prohibit the monkeys "All right, let them come in. After all, it is God's property." This is the Ka conscious system: if an animal, say a monkey, comes to your garden to eat, don't prohibit him. He is also part and parcel of Ka. If you prohibit him, where will he eat? I have another story; this one was told by my father. My father's elder brother was running a cloth shop. Before closing the shop my uncle would put out a basin filled with rice. Of course, as in any village, there were rats. But the rats would take the rice and not cut even a single cloth. Cloth is very costly. If

even one cloth had been cut by a rat, then it would have been a great loss. So with a few pennies' worth of rice, he saved many dollars' worth of cloth. This Ka culture is practical. "They are also part and parcel of God. Give them food. They'll not create any disturbance. Give them food." Everyone has an obligation to feed whoever is hungryeven if it is a tiger ... even if it is a tiger. Once a certain spiritual teacher was living in the jungle. His disciples knew, "The tigers will never come and disturb us, because our teacher keeps some milk at a little distance from the rama, and the tigers come and drink and go away." The teacher would call, "You! Tiger! You can come and take your milk here!" [Laughter.] And they would come and take the milk and go away. And they would never attack any members of the rama. The teacher would say, "They are my men don't harm them. I remember seeing at the World's Fair that a man had trained a lion. And the man was playing with that lion just like one plays with a dog. These animals can understand, "This man loves me. He gives me food; he is my friend." They also appreciate. When Haridsa hkura was living in a cave and chanting Hare Ka, a big snake

who also lived there decided to go away. The snake knew"He's a saintly person. He should not be disturbed. Let me go away." And from Bhagavad-gt we understand, vara sarva-bhtn hd-deeKa is in everyone's heart, and He is dictating. So Ka can dictate peace and harmony to the animals, to the serpent, to everyone. [rla Prabhupda pauses reflectively.] The Vedic culture offers so many nice, delicious foods, and mostly they are made with milk products. But these so-called civilized peoplethey do not know. They kill the cows and throw the milk away to the hogs, and they are proud of their civilizationlike jackals and vultures. Actually, this Ka consciousness movement will transform the uncivilized people and bring the whole world to real civilization. Based upon the teachings of the Vedas, the Ka conscious perspective does not hold that total cosmic annihilation will occur within our lifetime. Yet, there is one "apocalypse" each of us will experience: death. Despite the fact that no one lives forever, people act as if they will never die. The Vedic literature describes how a wise king was once asked, "What is the most amazing thing in the world?" The king replied, "Although the people of the world see that everyone must die, no one

really thinks that he will die. This is the most amazing thing in the world." Even the doom saying evangelists live for this world and minister to their congregations in a materialistic way by promising financial miracles or by providing guidance on attaining success in materialistic endeavors. Most people today absorb themselves in pleasureseeking, neglecting all the while inevitable death. Yet like a personal apocalypse, each person's death is coming. Sooner or later we will each face our day of judgment. We don't have to study and interpret the political events of the day to recognize this fact, nor need we resort to Biblical-political wizardry. This "doomsday" will come whether or not Reagan deploys his Star Wars defense system, and whether or not the Russians or the Americans or the terrorist fanatics explode their bombs. With total devastation, our personal apocalypse will strike. For some, it will be "prophesized" by those telltale signs of mortality, disease and old age. For others, it will give no warning. But one by one we will all go to our personal doomsday. This Armageddon will occur by the agency known as time, and, personal beliefs and opinions notwithstanding, it is inevitable.

According to the Vedic scriptures, the self survives death to take on another body. And which particular body a particular soul takes is determined by that individual's thoughts and deeds during his human incarnation. We should rectify our consciousness, therefore, in preparation for our next life. And as for the larger events of a thermonuclear Armageddon, that too may be avoided, but only if people rectify their activities and free themselves of their destined doomsday. Destiny can be changed by Ka consciousness.SDG jtasya hi dhruvo mtyur dhruva janma mtasya ca tasmd aparihrye 'rthe na tva ocitum arhasi One who has taken his birth is sure to die, and after death one is sure to take birth again. Therefore, in the unavoidable discharge of your duty, you should not lament. Bg 2.27 PURPORT One has to take birth according to one's activities of life. And after finishing one term of activities, one has to die to take birth for the next. In this way one is going through one cycle of birth and death after another without liberation. This cycle of birth and death does not, however, support unnecessary murder, slaughter and war. But at the same time, violence and war are inevitable factors

in human order.

The Battle of Kuruketra, being the will of the Supreme, was an inevitable event, and to fight for the right cause is the duty of a katriya. Why should Arjuna be afraid of or aggrieved at the death of his relatives since he was discharging his proper duty? He did not deserve to break the law, thereby becoming subjected to the reactions of sinful acts, of which he was so afraid. By avoiding the discharge of his proper duty, he would not be able to stop the death of his relatives, and he would be degraded due to his selection of the wrong path of action. The word kla is significant. Although the child was born to kill Kasa, Kasa thought that this was the proper time to kill the child so that he himself would be saved. Kla is actually another name of the Supreme Personality of Godhead when He appears only for the purpose of killing. When Arjuna inquired from Ka in His universal form, "Who are You?" the Lord presented Himself as kla, death personified to kill. By nature's law, when there is an unwanted increase in population, kla appears, and by some arrangement of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, people are killed wholesale in different ways, by war, pestilence, famine and so on. At that time, even

atheistic political leaders go to a church, mosque or temple for protection by God or gods and submissively say, "God willing." Before that, they pay no attention to God, not caring to know God or His will, but when kla appears, they say, "God willing." Death is but another feature of the supreme kla, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. At the time of death, the atheist must submit to this supreme kla, and then the Supreme Personality of Godhead takes away all his possessions (mtyu sarva-hara cham [Bg. 10.34]) and forces him to accept another body (tath dehntara-prpti [Bg. 2.13]). This the atheists do not know, and if they do know, they neglect it so that they may go on with their normal life. The Ka consciousness movement is trying to teach them that although for a few years one may act as a great protector or great watchman, with the appearance of kla, death, one must take another body by the laws of nature. Not knowing this, they unnecessarily waste their time in their occupation as watchdogs and do not try to get the mercy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As it is clearly said, aprpya m nivartante mtyu-sasra-vartmani: [Bg. 9.3] without Ka consciousness In answer, ukadeva Gosvm said that merely counteracting karma, fruitive activities, by other activities cannot bring one's miseries to a final end. For

example, the United Nations is attempting to establish peace in the world, but they cannot stop war. War breaks out again and again. After the First World War statesmen and diplomats manufactured the League of Nations. Then the Second World War came, and now they have devised the United Nations, but war is still going on. The actual goal is to stop war, but that cannot be done. By one action war is created, and by another action war is stopped for the time being, but again at the next opportunity there is another war. The cycle of sinful activities and atonement is like that. What we actually want is to be free from suffering and war, but that does not happen. ukadeva Gosvm said that one kind of war causes a disturbance, and another kind of war stops it for some time, but that is not the ultimate solution to the problem. ukadeva states that these troubles happen due to ignorance: avidvad-adhikritvt. Avidvat means "lack of knowledge." Avidvat-adhikritvt pryacitta vimaranam. Real atonement is performed in knowledge. Why is there fighting and why are there miseries? Unless these "why" questions, which in the Vedas are called Kena Upaniad, arise in one's mind, one is not fulfilling the proper function of his human life. These questions must arise: "Why am I suffering? Wherefrom have I come? What is my constitutional position? Where shall I

go after death? Why am I put into a miserable form of life? Why are there birth, death, old age and disease?" Krsna Consciousness, The Matchless Gift, Learning Tapasya, Self Control. Prabhupda: Just like modern people, they are after peace, stopping war. And suppose you stop war. Can you stop death? Then why you are after stopping war? Why you forget your real business? They are after stopping war. And suppose war is stopped, nobody takes to war anymore. Now, how you'll stop the war of this material nature? She is fighting always with you. From the beginning of your birth she is fighting. A child is born and the material nature is killing this child every moment. The child has grown, two years old. That means material nature has already killed this child for two years. How you can stop this? These nonsense, they do not consider these cases. Suppose if I stop war, there will be no more war, no more disease. No more disease cannot be possible. You can make by some way no more war... That is also not possible. Anyway, if you stop it by the efforts of the United Nations, a veke(?) by some way no more war... That is also not possible. Anyway, if you stop it by the efforts of the United Nations, a very large organization, then how you are going to stop death? What is your proposition? There is no, nothing. So what is the use of stopping war? Suppose

in the war some young men die. That's all right, so many young men die within the hospital in the disease. And sometimes old men, they do not die even in the war. The material world is but a shadow of reality. In the shadow there is no reality or substantiality, but from the shadow we can understand that there are substance and reality. In the desert there is no water, but the mirage suggests that there is such a thing as water. In the material world there is no water, there is no happiness, but the real water of actual happiness is there in the spiritual world. The Lord suggests that we attain the spiritual world in the following manner (Bg. 15.5): nirmna-moh jita-saga-do nity vinivtta-km adhytma-

dvandvair vimukt sukha-dukha-sajair gacchanty amh padam avyaya tat That padam avyayam, or eternal kingdom, can be reached by one who is nirmnamoha. What does this mean? We are after designations. Someone wants to become "sir," someone wants to become "lord," someone wants to become the president or a rich man or a king or something else. As long as we are attached to these designations, we are attached to the body, because designations belong to the

body. But we are not these bodies, and realizing this is the first stage in spiritual realization. We are associated with the three modes of material nature, but we must become detached through devotional service to the Lord. If we are not attached to devotional service to the Lord, then we cannot become detached from the modes of material nature. Designations and attachments are due to our lust and desire, our wanting to lord it over the material nature. As long as we do not give up this propensity of lording it over material nature, there is no possibility of returning to the kingdom of the Supreme, the santanadhma. That eternal kingdom, which is never destroyed, can be approached by one who is not bewildered by the attractions of false material enjoyments, who is situated in the service of the Supreme Lord. One so situated can easily approach that supreme abode. In the effulgent rays of the spiritual sky there are innumerable planets floating. The brahmajyoti emanates from the supreme abode, Kaloka, and the nanda-maya, cin-maya planets, which are not material, float in those rays. The Lord says, na tad bhsayate sryo na ako na pvaka/ yad gatv na nivartante tad dhma parama mama [Bg. 15.6]. One who can approach that spiritual sky is not required to descend again to the material sky. In the

material sky, even if we approach the highest planet (Brahmaloka), what to speak of the moon, we will find the same conditions of life, namely birth, death, disease and old age. No planet in the material universe is free from these four principles of material existence. The living entities are traveling from one planet to another, but it is not that we can go to any planet we like merely by a mechanical arrangement. If we desire to go to other planets, there is a process for going there. This is also mentioned: ynti deva-vrat devn pitn ynti pitvrat [Bg. 9.25]. No mechanical arrangement is necessary if we want interplanetary travel. The Gt instructs: ynti deva-vrat devn. The moon, the sun and higher planets are called Svargaloka. There are three different statuses of planets: higher, middle and lower planetary systems. The earth belongs to the middle planetary system. Bhagavad-gt informs us how to travel to the higher planetary systems (Devaloka) with a very simple formula: ynti deva-vrat devn. One need only worship the particular demigod of that particular planet and in that way go to the moon, the sun or any of the higher planetary systems. Yet Bhagavad-gt does not advise us to go to any of the planets in this material world, because even if we go to

Brahmaloka, the highest planet, through some sort of mechanical contrivance by maybe traveling for forty thousand years (and who would live that long?), we will still find the material inconveniences of birth, death, disease and old age. But one who wants to approach the supreme planet, Kaloka, or any of the other planets within the spiritual sky, will not meet with these material inconveniences. Amongst all of the planets in the spiritual sky there is one supreme planet called Goloka Vndvana, which is the original planet in the abode of the original Personality of Godhead r Ka. All of this information is given in Bhagavad-gt, and we are given through its instruction information how to leave the material world and begin a truly blissful life in the spiritual sky. PURPORT Since this temporary material world is full of the miseries of birth, old age, disease and death, naturally he who achieves the highest perfection and attains the supreme planet, Kaloka, Goloka Vndvana, does not wish to return. The supreme planet is described in Vedic literature as avyakta and akara and param gati; in other words, that planet is beyond our material vision, and it is inexplicable, but it is the highest goal, the destination for the mahtms (great souls). The mahtms receive

transcendental messages from the realized devotees and thus gradually develop devotional service in Ka consciousness and become so absorbed in transcendental service that they no longer desire elevation to any of the material planets, nor do they even want to be transferred to any spiritual planet. They only want Ka and Ka's association, and nothing else. That is the highest perfection of life. This verse specifically mentions the personalists devotees of the Supreme Lord, Ka. These devotees in Ka consciousness achieve the highest perfection of life. In other words, they are the supreme souls. [As-They-Surrender-Unto-Me ] Every man everywhere is trying to obtain the greatest amount of sense enjoyment by various endeavors. Some men are busy engaged in trade, industry, economic development, political supremacy, etc., and some of them are engaged in fruitive work to become happy in the next life by attaining higher planets. It is said that on the moon the inhabitants are fit for greater sense enjoyment by drinking somarasa, and the Pitloka is obtained by good charitable work. So there are various programs for sense enjoyment, either during this life or in the life after death. Some are trying to reach the moon or other planets by some mechanical arrangement, for they are very anxious to get into such planets without doing good

work. But it is not to happen. By the law of the Supreme, different places are meant for different grades of living beings according to the work they have performed. By good work only, as prescribed in the scriptures, can one obtain birth in a good family, opulence, good education and good bodily features. We see also that even in this life one obtains a good education or money by good work. Similarly, in our next birth we get such desirable positions only by good work. Otherwise, it would not so happen that two persons born in the same place at the same time are seen differently placed according to previous work. But all such material positions are impermanent. The positions in the topmost Brahmaloka and in the lowest Ptla are also changeable according to our own work. The philosophically inclined person must not be tempted by such changeable positions. He should try to get into the permanent life of bliss and knowledge where he will not be forced to come back again to the miserable material world, either in this or that planet. Miseries and mixed happiness are two features of material life, and they are obtained in Brahmaloka and in other lokas also. They are obtained in the life of the demigods and also in the life of the dogs and hogs. The miseries and mixed happiness of all living beings are only of different degree and quality, but no one is free

from the miseries of birth, death, old age and disease. Similarly, everyone has his destined happiness also. No one can get more or less of these things simply by personal endeavors. Even if they are obtained, they can be lost again. One should not, therefore, waste time with these flimsy things; one should only endeavor to go back to Godhead. That should be the mission of everyone's life. The conditioned soul is always engaged in laying out plans for happiness within the material world, even up to the end of the universal limit. He is not even satisfied with available amenities on this planet earth, where he has exploited the resources of nature to the best of his ability. He wants to go to the moon or the planet Venus to exploit resources there. But the Lord has warned us in the Bhagavad-gt (8.16) about the worthlessness of all the innumerable planets of this universe, as well as those planets within other systems. There are innumerable universes and also innumerable planets in each of them. But none of them is immune to the chief miseries of material existence, namely the pangs of birth, the pangs of death, the pangs of old age and the pangs of disease. The Lord says that even the topmost planet, known as the Brahmaloka or Satyaloka, (and what to speak of other planets, like the heavenly planets) is not a happy land for residential

purposes, due to the presence of material pangs, as above mentioned. Conditioned souls are strictly under the laws of fruitive activities, and as such they sometimes go up to Brahmaloka and again come down to Ptlaloka, as if they were unintelligent children on a merry-goround. The real happiness is in the kingdom of God, where no one has to undergo the pangs of material existence. Therefore, the Vedic ways of fruitive activities for the living entities are misleading. One thinks of a superior way of life in this country or that, or on this planet or another, but nowhere in the material world can he fulfill his real desire of life, namely eternal life, full intelligence and complete bliss. Indirectly, rla ukadeva Gosvm affirms that Mahrja Parkit, in the last stage of life, should not desire to transfer himself to the so-called heavenly planets, but should prepare himself for going back home, back to Godhead. None of the material planets, nor the amenities available there for living conditions, is everlasting; therefore one must have a factual reluctance to enjoy such temporary happiness as they afford. SB 2.2.3 TEXT 3 In the Bhagavad-gt it is said that beginning from the topmost planet of this universe down to the lowest planet,

Ptlaloka, all are destructible, and the conditioned souls may travel in space either by good or bad work or by modern spacecraft, but they are sure to die everywhere, although the duration of life in different planets is different. The only means to attain eternal life is to go back home, back to Godhead, where there is no more rebirth as in the material planets. The conditioned souls, being unaware of this very simple fact because of forgetting their relationship with the Lord of Vaikuha, try to plan out a permanent life in this material world. Being illusioned by the external energy, they thus become engaged in various types of economic and religious development, forgetting that they are meant for going back home, back to Godhead. This forgetfulness is so strong due to the influence of my that the conditioned souls do not at all want to go back to Godhead. By sense enjoyment they become victims of birth and death repeatedly and thus spoil human lives which are chances for going back to Viu. The directive scriptures made by the Manus in different ages and millenniums are called sad-dharma, good guidance for the human beings, who should take advantage of all the revealed scriptures for their own interest, to make life's successful termination. The creation is not false, but it is a temporary manifestation just to give a

chance for the conditioned souls to go back to Godhead. The desire to go back to Godhead and functions performed in that direction form the right path of work. When such a regulative path is accepted, the Lord gives all protection to His devotees by His causeless mercy, while the nondevotees risk their own activities to bind themselves in a chain of fruitive reactions. The word sad-dharma is significant in this connection. Saddharma, or duty performed for going back to Godhead and thus becoming His unalloyed devotee, is the only pious activity; all others may pretend to be pious, but actually they are not. It is for this reason only that the Lord advises in the Bhagavad-gt that one give up all so-called religious activities and completely engage in the devotional service of the Lord to become free from all anxieties due to the dangerous life of material existence. To work situated in sad-dharma is the right direction of life. One's aim of life should be to go back home, back to Godhead, and not be subjected to repeated births and deaths in the material world by getting good or bad bodies for temporary existence. Herein lies the intelligence of human life, and one should desire the activities of life in that way. SB 2.10.5
