A SPECIAL GIFT HELPS VETS MAKE DIFFICULT TRANSITION FROM THE FRONT LINES TO THEIR FRONT YARDS

Free download of "Taming the Fire Within - Life After War, offered by WWE.
Donated by author Dr. Anne Freund, this "no psychobabble handbook takes you inside the mind and experiences of combat warriors to offer insight and coping techniques to deal with natural Post-Combat Reactions. New York, NY (Dec. 18, 2012) Many of our soldiers go from the front lines to their front yards with little time or training to transition back into civilian life after experiencing the terrors of war. Tragically, many of our bravest warriors havent been prepared to distinguish between clinical PTSD and normal reactions they should expect to experience. Fearing the stigma of a psychological disorder, and too proud or too scared to reach out, they suffer in silence. In Taming the Fire Within: Life After War, Dr. Freund speaks conversationally to combat veterans of all eras explaining the natural emotional and behavioral reactions to the many stressors of war. Used by PTSD treatment programs across the country, this book focuses on common and expected responses to combat which Dr. Freund classifies as Post-Combat Reactions, as opposed to "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Knowing how challenging it is for soldiers to share their feelings, especially if the stigma of PTSD is looming in their minds, Dr. Freund wants to help warriors and their families learn how to identify and deal with natural reactions to combat, so they can effectively process the intense emotions every combat soldier is burdened with. "Nobody walks away from combat unscathed," Freund said. "The term 'disorder' often conveys a stigma that fosters guilt, shame, confusion and the inability to communicate with others who can relate and help them. We want veterans to realize that they are not alone. When combat is over, the experiences still continue. It's time to break the silence so the healing can begin." To help address these challenges, WWE is offering combat vets and their families the opportunity to download a FREE digital copy of the book Taming the Fire Within - Life After War, a post-combat survival guide with over 200 color photos, generously donated to Americas heroes by its author Dr. Anne Freund.
