Unit Content and Essential Questions 1 History of Western Music I: Introduce the topic to the students and let them to have a better understanding of the development of music from centuries ago and the evolution of Ancient Greek Music till the Classical Era. It is important for them to learn the history and how the music has changed over centuries and the influence it has on the later musical eras. History of Western Music II: A sequel to the previous unit, where the students will also learn about cultural infusion, cultural context and historical context, which includes the composer profiles, modern composers, skills and abilities as well as music for film.

The students are able to demonstrate an understanding of making connections with the previous music eras after learning the last two eras, which are Romantic Period and 20th century Music, including Jazz, Blues and then the development of contemporary music. The students are also able to compare and contrast
