STEP 11: Close the lead then hit the yellow button

to start oven. Once it beeps and indicator light turns off its DONE. Afterwards, open the oven and get the fiber. (CAUTION: be careful HOT surface)

HOW TO SPLICE FIBER OPTICAL CABLE

Materials: Cleaver Marker Ruler Laser Fiber stripper Scissor Fusion splicer Wipes/ tissue Alcohol

STEP 12: Verify splice quality using the laser, in

visual fault locator insert laser then verify light if theres no light escaping splice is GOOD.

FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR TYPES

STEP 1: Using a scissor, cut the fiber into half. STEP 2: Use the marker and ruler to mark 30mm
then remove the covering using fiber stripper to bare fibers on each side and put your splice sleeve on one side.

LC connector (1.2mm) small size as

compares with SC. To make one FC it needs an adapter where each LC is connected. It has a cylinder that allows alignment of two ferrules (white tip). Align the key then push it in (youll hear a click) then it latches in there.

STEP 3: Using the clean wipes and alcohol, clean the

fiber before cleaving. (NOTE: After you cleaved NEVER use any chemical to clean your fiber, it will leave residue on ends and faces joining them together.)

SC connector has two voids in its side. In

installing it in the adapter, there are two hooks inside the adapter as well as a cylinder for their alignment. SC connector is inserted by aligning the slot and key on top. NOTE: (Duplex connectors either LC or SC having two of them.)

STEP 4: Open the lead of the fusion splicer then get

out the guides (right and left guide). Position the fiber in there to an edge of the type buffer at the very tip of the fiber guide.

FC connector has a barrel and screws

that engaged the threads on the adapter. Theres also a key that requires alignment before screwing the barrel.

STEP 5: Get the fiber then set it in your guide make

sure that the end of type buffer is in position at the end of the fiber holder.

STEP 6: Pull off the handy cleaver; lock the blade

then set the guide in there make sure its always forward and then push down the top of it.

ST connector has little studs at the side

that engaged little studs for the adaptor its the key for alignment, just make sure all three are aligned before pushing the barrel and twist it to lock in place.

STEP 7: After, insert the guide in the fusion splicer

using two guide pins then close the lead.

MULTI-FIBER CONNECTORS

STEP 8: Check the setup (verify your fusion splicer

and set for the fiber and splicing length youre splicing, e.g. multimode; 60mm). Then press start button (green button for start). It will do arc check, making sure its clean and properly aligned up if its good it will start splicing. Afterwards a beep will indicate that splicing is complete.

MTP - which have 2-12 connectors, most of

them always have 12 connectors which just depends which are active, one side have pins for alignment. Make sure keys are aligned, ping it in place and you can hear a click once its locked.

Hardened connectors come in threads

or rings the like, its either pinned or pin less (jack/plug). Keys aligned then threads engaged.

STEP 9: Open the lead and get the spliced fiber.

Make sure that the splice is centered in splice sleeve and the splice sleeve is centered in the oven if not make sure to hold it tight until further instructions.

STEP 10: Open the oven then put the right side in
first and latch down the holder, properly place it then keep it tight.
