"Say: If you do love Allah, follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [Al-Imran: 31]

Narrated Anas(ra): The Prophet(saw) said "None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind." [Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 2 :: Hadith 14]

For everything that a slave loses there is a substitute, but the one who loses Allah will never find anything to replace Him . Ibn Qayyam(ar)

s he grew up to be a youth he adopted trade as his profession dealing mostly in the sale and purchase of cloth and also some other items of household use. For this he used to travel taking caravans of camels to far off lands. He was acknowledged by Meccans as truthful, honest, dependable, sincere and reliable who always kept his word and who never spoke a lie. For all these noble qualities he was respected and was held in high esteem by all. His people called him Al-Ameen (Trustworthy) and As-Sadiq (One who never spoke a lie). ALLAH had honoured him with- an exalted standard of character. Al Quraan Surah AI-Qalam 68:4. s he advanced in age, he began to take note of the evil, the disbelief and various superstitions around him. He noticed that the Arabs were sunk deep in ignorance, bigotry and disbelief. There was degradation of human soul. People lackedin moral principles and human values. There were discords, disputes and quarrels among the kith and kin and neighbouring tribes. Might was right. The orphans and the widows had none to support them. Women were considered lowly and did not command any respect. The birth of a daughter was considered inauspicious. There was no restriction on the number of marriages. The mother, the sister, the wife and the daughter were considered evil and contemptible. Female infanticide was common. Drinking, gambling and other vices of all sorts were the order of the day. Religious falsehood,

conceit and ignorance were generally prevailing and mans moral and spiritual growth had ceased because of lack of guidance. Slavery was prevalent in its worst form. Man was drunk with arrogance, religious formalism and moral bankruptcy. Hazrat Muhammad(saw) watched all this evil drama around him with disgust and contempt .He felt aversion within him against the fallacy of existing disbelief, ignorance, intolerance and superstitions. He therefore began to retire often to a cave named Ghar-e-Hiraa in the nearby mountains where he used to meditate at times for days and nights at a stretch. This process continued for over two years, then at the

age of forty ALLAH bestowed upon him HIS Messengership through angel Jibreel Allehis Salaam. The angel commanded him to Read but Muhammad (saw) was unable to read or write. But soon the inspired words that There is no god except ALLAH and Muhammad is HIS Messenger revolutionised the entire world. ALLAHs revelations were recorded by ready scribes and memorized immediately as they were spoken by ALLAHs Last Messenger Hazrat Muhammad (saw) and they remain preserved in that state even to their minutest inflexions till today. The Holy Quraan has remained the same with-

out any change or alteration. But the same cannot be said of other Books of GOD. He Gave Moral and Ethical Principles ALLAHs Last Messenger Hazrat Muhammad(saw) came to give to humanity great ethical and moral principles. He came to blend together peoples of all tongues, colour, creed, races and nationalities. He came to wake them up from slumber. He came as a friend to the friendless, as a help to the helpless, as a teacher to the ignorant, as preacher to the pious, as a protector to the unprotected widows and the weak, as a guardian to the orphans. His leadership and his teachings brought about a revolutionary change in the minds and the hearts of men. They watched him very closely and minutely. His conduct accordingly affected the day-to-day life of his followers thoroughly. Never before in the history of mankind have men undergone such a rapid and yet so total a transformation. He introduced a number of religious practices like Salaat (Namaz), Zakaat, Haj and Fast. Fired by the conviction of faith, they followed and adopted them all. The effect of Islam was such that their entire lives were changed. The proud became humane and humble. The wrong doers became righteous. Their manners and habits were changed. Their thinking was changed and their attitudes were changed. Their mutual hostilities and rivalries were changed into accommodation and sympathy. Their mutual hatred was changed into consideration and love. Their living was changed. In fact the individual, the family and the entire society was changed from degradation to civilization.

OPINION

I know a MAN who lost his parents but refused to be called an orphan. Man enough to love a strong woman years older than him, worked for her and made her stronger, opened his heart to her, shared his fears to no human but her, cleaned after himself and sewed his clothes, and was faithful to her till her last breath. He was courageous and fearless. He never judged anyone on their pasts or looks, and was moderate, open minded and tolerant. His neighbor was

Jewish and his cousin-in-law was a Christian priest. Was beaten and exiled when he was helpless. Was merciful when he became stronger. Intelligent, wise and a hard worker, built a long lasting nation out of nothing in the last 20 years of his life. He had no parents, but loved his daughters and grandchildren. His last will was "Be good to women". This MAN is my PROPHET MUHAMMAD (S.A.W.W) a man worth looking up to - peace be upon him.

If the heart is sick, the forbidden becomes attractive and obedience of Allah becomes something you look at with contempt

Surah Al Ikhlas (The Purity): Introduction

too. The Jews also claimed to believe in One God, but their God too was not without physical, material and other human qualities and characteristics. He went for a stroll, appeared in human form, wrestled with a servant of His, and was father of a son, Ezra. Besides these religious communities, the Zoroastrians were fire worshipers, and the Sabeans star worshipers. Under such conditions when the people were invited to believe in Allah, the One Who has no associate, it was inevitable that questions arose in the minds as to what kind of a God it was, Who was one and Only Lord and invitation to believe in Whom was being given at the expense of all other gods and deities. It is a miracle of the Quran that in a few words briefly it answered all the questions and presented such a clear concept of the Being of Allah as destroyed all polytheistic concepts, without leaving any room for the ascription of any of the human qualities to His Being. That is why the Holy Messenger of Allah (upon whom be peace) held this Surah in great esteem, and he made the Muslims realize its importance in different ways so that they recited it frequently and disseminated it among the people. (Tafheem ul Quran).

Al-Ikhlas is not merely the name of this Surah but also the title of its contents, for it deals exclusively with Tauhid. Hadrat Abdullah bin Masud has reported that the Quraish said to the Holy Prophet (upon whom be be peace): "Tell us of the ancestry of your Lord." Thereupon this Surah was sent down. (Tabarani). A little consideration of the traditions regarding the occasion of the revelation of this Surah, shows what were the religious concepts of the world at the time the Holy Prophet began to preach the message of Tauhid. The idolatrous polytheists were worshiping gods made of Are Muslims the most violent people wood, stone, gold, silver and other substancon the face of the earth? If not Muses. LEGACY OF MUSLIM SCIENTISTS

610 632 [empiricism, theology] The Quran, which was revealed during this time, emphasized the use of empirical observation and reason.[1][2][3][4] It has been claimed that the Quran also contains knowledge that was far ahead of its time (see Quran and science and Islam and science for the debate on this topic). 610 632 [astrology] Several hadiths attributed to Muhammad show that he was generally opposed to astrology as well as superstition in general. An example of this is when an eclipse occurred during his son Ibrahim ibn Muhammads death, and rumours began spreading about this being Gods personal condolence. Muhammad is said to have replied: An eclipse is a phenomenon of nature. It is foolish to attribute such things to the death or birth of a human being.[5]
