ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I am thankful to ALMIGHTY ALLAH, the benevolent and the most merciful whose name is a source of courage and whose remembrance provides me energies to complete all the tasks assigned to me. May ALLAH show His bounties and mercies upon the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W and his progeny who guided the making to the righteous path? I am grateful to Mr. Asifullah Jan Senior Manager Recruitment and Mr.Qasim Jan Manager Recruitment PTCL for allowing me to work as an internee in HR Department. I am especially thankful to Mr. Imdad Ullah Khan, HR specialist PTCL Headquarters Islamabad for his instantaneous guidance during the internship period. Due to his sincere help and co-operation; I managed to learn such a lot of practical things about the organization. I am also grateful to Syed Imran and Mr. Ijaz, the HR Specialists, for their guidance, support, help and supervision to learn me more about the organization. It will not be an exaggeration if, I say that the entire staff of the PTCL was extremely courteous, polite, co-operative, helpful, worth remembering in every sense.

Preface
With the birth of a new soul comes a new voice and with it a series of innocent new stories that we treasure all our lives. The circle of the family grows and is strengthened with every addition of a voice, and who understands it better then PTCL .For 60 years it has been the one and only connection between families and the voice of little ones who share thousands stories with the world. From the first faltering HELLO to the most eloquent speech, PTCL has given voice to many little angels of Pakistan and today it has become one strong voice of the country. PTCL has shared joys, the love, the obstacles and the sorrows together, its time that PTCL move a head keeping the trust we have on each other and relying on the connection that is stronger then ever before. PTCL are transforming our world by changig the way we communicate globally. Our every thought, word and emotion when shared will send out ripples that will alter every ones life globally and locally. Our progress will inspire others to speak up and voice their views and emotions as freely as possible .PTCL today, is an open, borderless medium for communication. PTCL have worked hard to preserve a seat in the center of he world, and to be ever ambassador to the world. This report gives a brief and concise picture about the various department of PTCL. The body topics explain the procedure, how to function or perform duties in a particular department, like in HR department how the different functions of recruitment, selection, placement and promotion are being performed.

Work Experience at PTCL


I worked as an internee in PTCL Head Quarters for eight weeks; during my internship period .I got an opportunity to work in different areas of HR department and it was a great pleasure for me to learn the practical work in the organization. I worked in different areas of HR department; I worked in recruitment and selection for about two weeks under the supervision of Recruitment Specialist Mr.Imdad ullah .During this period of time I came to that how the vacant position is seen in the System Application Program (SAP). Then I learned that how the C Vs of the candidates who have applied for the jobs are saved in to data base and then the candidates who are fulfilling the requirements are screened out. Then the candidates are informed for the interview through telephone calls. Then I was assigned the duty of providing the orientation books to the new coming employees and to facilitate them in all activities performed at recruitment helpdesk. Then I was assigned another work in the recruitment section was that those candidates who are selected but they are not going to join the organization their C Vs are also posted in the database. After working for two weeks I was posted in Organizational Design, where I worked under the supervision of Ms.Adeela, for 3 days and she told me how the employee number for the new appointed employee is generated in the SAP, the software automatically generates the employee number and if you want to get information about the employee then next time you have to put the E.P.I number rather than name of candidate. Then I was posted in training and corporate development where I worked under the supervision of HR Specialist Ejaz Gul, who provided me information about the revamping of PTCL academy. Then he assigned me the duty of peparing the list of VSS optees who have applied for the post VSS training. Then I was posted with Syed Imran HR Specialist and he gave our group the assignment of designing the appraisal forms and employee reference check forms. Then the presentation about the appraisal forms was arranged. Then I was posted in clearance help desk under the supervision of HR Specialist Mr. Nouman. Where I was given the responsibility of updating the data of employees who have availed the VSS offer.

These are the areas in which I worked and passed my two months of internship. It was a great opportunity for me to work on the SAP in the recruitment section as well as in clearance help desk section.
