Here we considering the sinusoidal input signal and at output term inals we get the am plified v ersion of input signal. ie; Am plitude increased by a factor equal to the gain of the am plifier. Try our RC COUPLED AMPLIFIER VOLTAGE GAIN CALCULATOR

Due to transistor param eters, any v ariation in the input term inal(base) m ay cause a large v ariations in the output term inal(collector) in com m on Em itter configuration.

If the input signal rises from zero in the input, it cause a large rise in v oltage (am plitude) at the output term inal.

Inorder to achiev e faithful am plification of input signal, the Q point m ust be selected in the m iddle of DC Load Line. To stabilize the Q point in the m iddle and m ake it independent of tem perature v ariations we are using v oltage div ider bias.

C in and C out It is called as Coupling Capacitor. It prov ides coupling to the input and output signals. It helps to achiev e m axim um power transform Rc and Re It helps to control or drop the supply v oltage Vcc. It giv es a safer lim it of v cc for collector and em itter term inals. Ce Em itter capacitor, it also called as By pass capacitor. It will by pass ac current and restricts dc, Due to this only dc v oltage will drop across em itter resistor. If we neglecting the By pass capacitor, ac v oltage will drop across Re, which m ay reduce the gain of am plifier.

ADVANTAGES OF RC COUPLED AMPLIFIER

We can be able to am plify any signal in Audio frequency range. It prov ides faithful am plification of input signal. Sim ple circuit diagram By using the transistor BC1 07 it prov ides an am plification factor of nearly 50. ie; it prov ides an output 50 tim es greater than the input.

DISADVANTAGES OF RC COUPLED AMPLIFIER

Bjt Am plifier will oscillates on higher frequency range such as radio frequencies. Band width is com parably narrow than JFET am plifier

DC BIASING CONDITIONS

Voltage drop across collector resistor Rc should be equal to 4 0% of Vcc. Voltage drop across em itter resistor Re should be equal to 1 0% of Vcc. Voltage drop across Collector-Em itter term inal should be equal to 50% of Vcc. Try Our RC tim e constant calculator

Note:: The dc biasing conditions should be check only after rem ov ing all the capacitors. Try our Frequency Calculator BACK TO ELECTRONICS HOME
