This section covers the fire protection systems suitable for the type of risk / fire for different buildings, equipment, tanks, transformers, etc., covering the power plant and associated auxiliaries / facilities completely. Various types of protection systems and associated equipment / system components shall be completely designed in compliance with the regulations of Tariff Advisory Committee (TAC) of India. Bidder shall obtain all necessary clearances from authorised agency approved by TAC. Technical particulars shall be as per enclosed Data Sheets Fire protection system shall include Fire detection and alarm system as described below. A conventional fire detection system shall be included by the Bidder consisting of manual call points, smoke / optical type detector, cables and control panel including power supply for the fire alarm system. The detectors shall be located in the following areas. The control panel shall be located in the main control room. The design of the fire alarm / detection system shall be as per latest edition of IS 2189 INFORMATION TO BE FURNISHED BY BIDDER ALONG WITH THE BID Bidder shall furnish the information listed below along with the bid. (a) (b) Description of the fire protection system for the proposed plant. Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) & General Arrangement drawing for complete fire protection system indicating capacity and head of pumps, type of hazard, dead storage, number of hydrants, operation philosophy of complete system etc. Filled in Data sheet-B as called for in the specification.

The panel shall generally consist of annunciation windows with inscription for visual indication, audible alarm, alarm and lamp accept and reset push buttons, lamp check and test push buttons. The annunciation panel shall have power supply ON, pump running status, batteries for diesel engine not charged

NOTE i) Motors, power and instrumentation cables, pressure gauges, pressure switches, level switches, start/ stop push button for pumps shall be as outlined elsewhere in the specification ii) Complete civil works covering excavation & back for laying the underground piping & cables, brick masonry chamber with CI, covers for outdoors/isolating valves, pipe supports, excavation & backfilling for all road crossings to original grade including resurfacing, providing suitable RCC with plan concrete 1:4:8 providing pipe trenches of M20 grade reinforced concrete where necessary filling up the trenches with sand after pipe laying & providing pre-cast concrete cover, providing opening in bricks walls/concrete slab for pipe routing & sealing of opening, paintings providing hume pipes at road crossings & finishing / resurfacing of the corresponding roads, construction of deluge valve housing etc. The scope of civil work shall also include chipping of foundation of pumps upto 25 mm & grouting. iii) All minor civil works associated with the installation of electrical equipment & cables, shall be done by VENDOR and made good. These minor civil works shall include chipping, punching of holes, pockets, welding or any such work required for the neat and aesthetic installation of all electrical equipment covered under this contract.
