Week 5

I Corinthians 9:22 "I have become all things to all people, so that I may by all means save some."

Week 5 Day 1

1.

God's Word for Today.

1 Corinthians 9:22 "I have become all things to all people, so that I may by all means save some."

2.

In walking closely with God, it is indispensableto know how to pray. We need to pray with intensity in emergencies, but someone who wants to witness to the world must pray constantly. Prayer aligns your heart with God's desire to save others, so keep praying.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray constantly."

3.

4.

What would happen if your church used concentric circles as its outreach program? i. Intercession would become a lifestyle for your church. ii. Ruptured relationships would be made right. iii. Members would show God's love to people in the community, and hearts would turn to Christ. 1

5.

iv. Members would go into worship services expecting God to work in hearts and lives. Praying for My Circles Today i. Develop a prayer plan ii. Pray according to plan iii. Pray for the needs of those in your circles iv. Ask God to teach you how to intercede for them.

Week 5 Day 2

1.

God's Word for Today

1 Timothy 2:1-4 First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2.

God expects us to pray for specific things. If you do not pray specifically, "you do not have because you do not ask."
James 4:2 You do not have because you do not ask.

3.

As you pray through your concentric circles, be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading to those with the deepest need. God will help you know when and how He wants you involved with a particular person. If you sense a particular burden for someone while praying, call or write to that person and see what needs surface from that contact. Paul specifically prayed for the Philippians to have wisdom and insight to meet people's needs through their love. 2

Philippians 1:9 "I pray this : that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment." James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him."

5.

Follow up your prayers with loving actions. Be genuine and do not expect too much too quickly. Continue to avail yourself to God. As you intercede and ask for wisdom, also ask God to engineer circumstances to draw people to Him. Keep loving as you keep praying.

Week 5 Day 3

1.

God's Word for Today

1 Corinthians 9:19-22 Although I am a free man and not anyones slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win Jews; to those under the law, like one under the lawthough I myself am not under the lawto win those under the law. To those who are without that law, like one without the lawnot being without Gods law but within Christs lawto win those without the law. To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.

2.

Building bridges is simply meeting needs in a person's life or showing an interest in them in such a way that you establish or cultivate a relationship. For Christians, building a bridge is building a relationship that lets you cross into another person's world.

3.

Paul built relationships to bring others to salvation in Christ. He did this by trying to identify with the needs and lifestyle of individuals around him. Building relationship bridges should be a continual process in your life. It should become a part of your lifestyle. The closer we are to the Lord, the more person-oriented we will become. Continually building relational bridges to our family, relatives, friends, neighbours, associates, acquaintances and even to Person X is a significant strategy for witnessing to the world. Utilize as many point of contacts as possible in bridge building.

Week 5 Day 4

1.

God's Word for Today

2 Corinthians 1:3-6 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer;

2.

Building bridges takes time, but nothing bears more fruit. In addition to the times of joy , times of stress and loss provide opportunities to build a relationship too. i. Sickness Visit the lost people you know who are sick or in the hospital. ii. Sorrow Visit those who are hurting. They will remember that you cared enough to be there for them. It will leave a lasting impression. iii. Stress Reach out and build bridges with people in times of stress (financial reversal, the loss of a job, a crisis in marriage etc.) and they will never forget you. Building relationship bridges through your concentric circles is the key to witnessing to your world. A person's deepest need Is Christ. As you build bridges, opportunities will open for you to share the good news of Jesus.

Week 5 Day 5

1.

God's Word for Today

1 John 3:8 "Little children, we must not love in word or speech, but in deed and truth."

2. 3.

Show God's love to those around you . Love is meeting needs. Let your life be a channel of God's love. Allow God's love to flow through you so that people will experience God through you. People will know that the Heavenly Father loves them and will sense His invitation to become a part of His family by adoption and by the saving grace of Jesus. The first and greatest command is this :
Mark 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength

4.

5.

How do I Love God?

Matthew 25:35-40 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

6.

When you love people in Jesus' name, you are loving Jesus. You are not really loving Jesus until you become a channel of His love in meeting needs. Love is meeting needs. The second greatest commandment is :
Matthew 22:39 Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

7.

8.

How do we love people? We are to love people the same way God loves people-by meeting their needs.

9.

Loving others includes even your enemies.

Matthew 5:43-44 You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

10. Would someone in your concentric circles qualify as your enemy? Open yourself to God's use in reaching that person. This may cost you, just as it cost Jesus to go to the cross. Remember, love is action. Love is meeting needs. 11. How do you love your enemies? By treating them the same way you treat those you love. Love is treating all people the same way. When Jesus becomes the Lord of your life, you forfeit forever the right to choose whom you will love. 12. When you find someone who seems impossible to love, pray, "Father, engineer circumstances in his life to draw him to You, to meet his need."
Matthew 5:13-14 "You are the salt of the earth. . You are the light of the world."
GDS 5 (WTTW) W5

Notes by William Yeong

13. What will you do to start meeting needs in your enemy's life? God's plan for your life is that His love flow through your life, reach out to others and meet their needs. You do not meet their needs from your reservoir. You meet needs from God's reservoir. You will find that when you are meeting others' needs, your needs will also be met.
