Week 6

Matthew 28:18-20 "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Week 6 Day 1

1.

God's Word for Today.

2.

Circle 7 contains Person X. Person X is a stranger, someone you haven't met who needs to know the Lord. This person may briefly cross your path unexpectedly. It may be someone you will never see again but whose salvation you want to continue praying for. Have you ever shared your faith with a Person X, someone you had never met before? Yes No

If so, how did the experience compare to sharing with someone in your other circles? 4. A woman with a bleeding problem for twelve years touched the robe of Jesus and He immediately felt power left Him. Upon her confession, she was healed by the power of Jesus.
Mark 5:25-32 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed. Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, Who touched my clothes? You see the people crowding against you, his disciples answered, and yet you can ask, Who touched me? But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.

5.

Someone is going to "touch" you. When someone touches you, do they touch God's power? Do they encounter His living water? And will you take the time to meet the needs of that Person X? People will pass into and out of your life. You may never know when to expect them. Be ready. Pray expectantly for the opportunity to share God's love with Person X.

7.

Are you prepared to meet Person X? I regularly pray to be ready when I meet Person X. I really don't ever think about Person X. I ask God to fill me with His Spirit so that I will be prepared to share His love. I stay attuned to God's work around me. The Holy Spirit is always resident in a Christian. If you remain filled with the Holy Spirit, He will engineer circumstances to bring Person Xs into your life, knowing that you will be faithful to love them and meet their needs. Praying for My Circles Today Pray that God will prepare you spiritually to meet Person X. Pray for any Person Xs you listed in Circle 7. Pray that God will work in their lives and that you will have another opportunity to meet their needs.

Week 6 Day 2

1.

God's Word for Today

Titus 2:9-10 "Slaves are to be submissive to their masters in everything, and to be well-pleasing, not talking back or stealing, but demonstrating utter faithfulness, so that they may adorn the teaching of God our Saviour in everything."

2.

One of the best ways to be used by God in reaching your world is to show God's love. Love is meeting needs. Many of our opportunities to share the Lord are blocked and the Spirit of God is quenched because we react wrongly to circumstances.

4.

To avoid missed opportunities, set your attitude in advance by asking yourself, "Who is in control, Jesus or me?" React to circumstances from the attitude that God is in control and that you will allow Him to meet the person's needs through you. You never know when Person Xs will show up. The Holy Spirit draws them. They are hungry. They are hurting, but they sense the world doesn't care. When they come into your life, this may be their only opportunity to hear about God's love. God holds you responsible. He wants you to be available. If you love everyone in your concentric circles, your life will radiate a holy magnetism. God will draw people through you to Him. If you are walking in the Lord and are in agreement with Him, His living water will flow through your life and touch others.
John 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

Week 6 Day 3

1.

God's Word for Today

Mark 16:15 "Then He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation.'"

2.

Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave us our marching orders for reaching the entire world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20 "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the

name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

3.

Four Areas where Jesus said His followers would be His witnesses.
Acts 1:8 "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

We have the Holy Spirit and the assignment is ours. We are His witnesses, so we must : i. start in Jerusalem. (at home, in your city) ii. continue into Judea. (extended family; surrounding communities, country, state or province.) iii. proceed to Samaria. (crossing racial, ethnic and religious barriers) iv. continue to the ends of the earth. 4. The whole world is the object of Jesus' Great Commission.
2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance."

5.

We are to carry the gospel to all peoples of the world. What a humanly impossible assignment! But, God is always with us, empowering us by His Spirit to carry out the assignment. Jesus didn't issue the Great Commission to an elite corps of super disciples. He gave the command to a group of ordinary men and to all who would come to faith through their message-that includes you and me. Collectively, we are the body of Christ for our generation.

7.

If the whole church (local & universal) obeyed Jesus' command, God would make sure the whole world heard the good news about His Son. With God, all things are possible. Every believer and every church has a part to play in this world mission. Everyone can be a part of God's worldwide mission strategy. Missions is God's work through the body of Christ to reach a lost world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

8.

9.

10. Suggestions for developing missions awareness. Read a missionary's biography. (e.g. William Carey, David Livingstone, Jim Elliott, Hudson Taylor etc) Read about the history of missions in a mission group, a denomination, a para church group, a people group, or a country. Watch a video or documentary that tells the story of a missionary or a particular missions effort. Read or listen to news reports and updates from the mission field, as reported in missions magazines, Christian radio, Christian television, newsletters from missionaries, e-mail groups and websites. Attend a mission conference to hear missionaries reports. Listen to testimonies of people who have been touched by missions.

Week 6 Day 4

1.

God's Word for Today

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching.

2.

Missions awareness prepares you to hear what God may want to do through you. God is inviting you to join Him in missions support and involvement. Missions support is helping others who are involved in mission work. Just as Paul received support from churches in the areas of finances, coworkers and prayers, today's missionaries need the support of other believers. Suggestions for Providing Missions Support. i. Prayer for missions and missionaries. ii. Providing Encouragement. Send e-emails, letters, cards, gifts that encourage missionaries in their work. iii. Providing Financial Support to Mission Organisations, Missionaries, Mission projects and activities. iv. Material Support Give away material or personal property that is of use to meet a need. v. Logistical Support e.g coordinating travel, transferring of data, technical training etc. vi. Give of yourself or your children for God's missions work. Pray about your willingness to support missions. Ask God to show you one or more ways. 7

Week 6 Day 5

1.

God's Word for Today

Romans 10:14-15 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

2.

Listing people in your surveys and praying for them is a part of the work God uses to point people to Christ. Your personal testimony is perhaps the most powerful witnessing tool you can use to share the good news about Jesus with someone who doesn't know Jesus. Get involved in missions and taking the gospel to the ends of the earth in person. Nearly everyone can become personally involved. Suggestions for Missions Involvement i. Go as a volunteer on a short-term missions trip. Possiblilities : Evangelism projects Bible distribution Construction projects Medical/Dental mission Discipleship training Children Ministry & Ministry to Parents

He calls people to missions. What do you presently sense that God may be calling you to do. Praying for My Circles Today i. Pray that God will help you make witnessing to your world your lifestyle. ii. Continue updating and praying through your concentric circles. iii. Surrender your life to be available to God for whatever He asks and wherever He leads.
