INTRODUCTION
With the rise of the Open Door Policy that prevailed upon the glorious
war of October 1973, and under the sponsorship of the great economist
Osman, A. Osman, a group of employees in the Arab Contractors Co.
was formed for the purpose of establishing a stockholding company
aiming at supporting and facilitating the building and construction
activities by providing the most up to date construction tools instead of
the ruling conventional systems in that period. This gave place to a rapid
completion of projects according to the highest international standards.

With the establishment of the company, contacts with international

specialized companies were made for choosing various construction
products that the new company will manufacture for the active
participation in building and construction activities.

On April 13th 1977, the late president Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat signed
the presidential decree number 169 for the year 1977 to establish the
company of “ Industrial Engineering Company for Construction and
Development “ with paid capital LE 1.5 million which was considered
the first listed company in the Egyptian stock market.

As a result, a giant company was born, operating its various factories for
corrugated steel sheets, steel purlins, caravans and pre-fabricated units,
in addition to the services and maintenance workshops for heavy
construction equipments. All facilities are stationed on an area of 80
faddans owned by the company.

The company has sales and marketing office Downtown, a showroom in

Gomhoria Street, a branch in Alexandria as well as a branch in Assiut.
The company is also considered to be the pioneer in the corrugated steel
sheets industry in the Egyptian market, as it was ye first to produce the
competent sandwich panels utilized in caravans and the prefabricated
units production according to the highest quality levels.

More capital was injected to cover the company’s various activities unit
it reached LE 15 million as a declared capital and LE11.8 million as paid
capital.

Pursuant to the establishment of the company, and for the purpose of

benefiting from the progressed specialized foreign experience, it went
directly through the forming of Joint Venture companies sharing with the
foreign and Arab funds.

The company has shared as a partner in some these companies, among

which are “ ACROWMISR “ for Metallic Scaffoldings and Formwork , “
LIFT SLAB MISR “ for heavy lifting and slip forms, “ ALU MISR “ and
“ Suez Canal Insurance Co. “

 COMPANY ACTIVITIES

(I): CORRUGATED SHEETS

Galvanized and galvanized colored corrugated sheets are produced from

imported steel coils according to the American standards specifications no.
ASTM A653, with thicknesses 0.5 to 1.0 mm. the company also produces the
complementary steel flashings.

The corrugated sheets we produce are used in cladding of roofs and walls. It
has many advantages such attractive appearance, easy & fast installation,
precision tightness, prevention of water, air and dust leakage, light weight
and high durability. Those sheets are also used as external layers for the
sandwich panels and temporary fencing for projects sites and uncovered
stores.

(II): SANDWICH PANLES

These panels are produced in different lengths, widths and thicknesses

according to the client’s request. They are composed of two faces of steel
sheets or wood, injected in between the environmental friendly
Polyurethane. Cyclo-pentane is added to Polyurethane as foaming agent
instead of Freon that exhausts the ozone layer. This mixture gives a solid
heat insulating material (Rigid Foam Polyurethane) with a high thermal
insulation factor.

In general, these panels are used in cladding of roofs and walls of different
buildings, internal partitions, Caravan units, Pre-fabricated units, Cold
stores, and Mobile cold boxes.

• SANDWICH PANELS APPLICATIONS

- CARAVANS :

Since 1983, the company has been producing caravans, whether Porta
cabins or assembled, on chassises, according to routine design systems
(modules). This in turn leads to high accuracy and a high quality for
component production and a high quality for component production and
their assembly in the plants.

Caravans are produced in different sizes and internal compartments
according to the client’s needs, putting into consideration the different
applications, such as in school, field clinics and applications, such as in
school, field clinics and toilet closets and also what is suitable for remote
areas.

The company also prepares containers and their internal finishing, at the
highest levels, to be suitable for different applications.
The caravans produced by the company are characterized by high
durability and a strong chassis, making it possible to be moved from
place to place without any negative effect.

- Mobile Cold Boxes and Cold Stores:

In light of the company’s capability to produce distinguished thick

sandwich panels, that give the highest thermal insulation rates, the
company utilizes that in fabrication of Mobile Cold Boxes and Cold
Stores with huge capacity, up to 1000 tons at a state of art technology
that makes savings in the cooling units and lower electricity
consumption.

- Pre-Fabricated Units and Vertical Extensions for Buildings:

The company utilizes its production of sandwich panels in producing

Pre-Fabricated Units to be used for different purposes, such as preparing
work sites ( Mobilization ) for large contracting and petroleum
companies by supplying them with offices, accommodations, meeting
rooms and rest units. This in addition to schools, administrative units and
toilets in crowded areas, where it does not allow for conventional
buildings.

The Company is also characterized by its production of Pre-Fabricated

Units specially made for temporary halls for important celebrations.
Our production of Pre-Fabricated units is characterized by its high
quality and high speed erection.
Moreover, it dose not need foundations or water or regular maintenance
or re-painting as in the case in conventional buildings. Meanwhile, the
sandwich panels are used in adding floors to existing buildings, as they
are characterized by quick installation and beautiful appearance with

lower costs as result of not having to buy new land or strengthening the
skeleton of the structure. All this is done without disturbing or harming
the surrounding environment.

(Iii): PURLINS and GUARD RAILS

- Production Line

The company has imported from Italy a production line for cold forming
of steel strips with different thicknesses going up to 4mm in order to get
the following sections.

- Purlins :

They are produced from black or galvanized steel strips by cold forming
order to produce sections with the shapes of C, U, Z, in different sizes,
thicknesses up to 4mm, and requested with accuracy 1 cm.

The most striking characteristic of these purlins is its light weight in

comparison with the equivalent standard steel sections, thus saving in the
total cost of the steel structure.

The purlins are used as well, in skeletons of caravans and pre-fabricated

units.

- Guard Rails

Rails are made in a W shape by cold forming of galvanized steel strips

imported according to the American standard specifications number
ASTM 527-LFQ. Metallic posts necessary for holding the rails, are also
produced in different shapes. Guard rails are used as safe road
obstructions for highways, bridge sides and inside multistory garages.

(IV): FALSE CEILINGS

The company possesses a good position and reputation in supplying and

installing false ceilings in different types of strips and tiles, which are
chosen carefully from the best international and local brands. The
company is distinguished in its highly qualified designs, accurate and
fast execution of the specified work.

The company has accomplished many jobs in this field covering major
projects such as airports, huge private sector hospitals and some of the
important buildings in the Republic.
