Christmas 2012

Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, Greetings from Greece! We wish you, your families and the whole Church Gods blessings during this Christmas Season, as well as in the New Year 2013. May the Lord renew each and every one of you by His grace, His Word and presence through the Holy Spirit, so that you will continue to serve Him! On behalf of our Church we would like to thank you for your continuous encouragement, prayer and financial support for us and the ministry the Lord has entrusted to us, especially during this time of crisis. Last September the Lord enabled us to have our own kitchen inside the Church!! This means we can now serve better, faster and more often our friends who are homeless and/or refugees. We continue to cook twice a week, for about 130 people each time. There is core group of about 15 volunteers who cook, distribute coffee and food, visit neighborhood families each month and pray!! Tim Sirinides one of the Elders continues to be in charge of this ministry; he also leads the Bible Study each Thursday noon. On December 20, we had our special Christmas meal. We brought everyone inside the Church and had a Christmas program. Tim explained one again the reason behind everything we do and welcomed everyone. Manos Vafiadis, an ex-member of a wellknown rock band gave his testimony and sang. The pastor presented briefly the gospel message. We

were able, through the help of a Chinese Evangelical Church in Athens to provide a scarf and a cap to each person. During November we started using as a temporary guesthouse for refugees a very small apartment in the basement of an apartment building, which was donated to our Church. Right now a brother in the Lord who is also a refugee is using it. It needs a lot or repairing, but we are using it from now, after doing minor repairs. We hope that in the future more improvements will take place. We are grateful that the Lord still provides so faithfully despite the overall difficult circumstances. Our Youth Center Sfina (Wedge) continues to serve the children of the neighborhood each Friday. Young men and women from our Churchs Youth Group continue faithfully to spend time on Fridays and on other days with the kids. On Saturdays the Teenage Group and the Youth Group gather at the Youth Center for their Bible Study and fellowship. Neighborhood kids continue to come!!! A few week s ago, Alexandra from Poland, 16 years old, gave her testimony at our Churchs evening service. She shared how the Lord touched her life through this ministry and how she went to the Churchs camp and made new friends and now shes a Christian. Please pray for her and her family! Please continue to pray for us!
We are still looking for a place to rent for the meals ministry. We are close

enough!!! Lord willing by January we will be able to do this! Pray for the families we minister and visit each month. Pray for the people who attend the Bible Studies and have started attending the Church. Pray that our Church will continue to focus outwardly to the needs of our neighborhood, and that they will not be discouraged by the overwhelming financial difficulties. Pray for the Youth Group (the picture is from the Christmas program, where they invited some of their neighborhood friends at Church).
Pray for January 3rd!! The Youth Group will do one more street clean-up at

Koukaki and will also distribute Christian calendars. Pray that their witness will bear fruit and that they will also be strengthened in their faith!

We thank the Lord for the opportunities He continues to give us, for the

faithful volunteers who come and serve week after week and for the fruit of the ministry we enjoy!!! Prayerfully in Christ On behalf of the Elders and the congregation of The Second Greek Evangelical Church of Athens Rev. Georgios Adam , Pastor
