Read Luke 2:7 What is a manger? According the Webster dictionary, a manger is: a box or trough to hold feed for horses or cattle to eat. Why do you think it was necessary for the Savior of the World or King of Kings to be born in a manger? Elder Russel M. Nielsen said Jesus, our Savior, was born in the lowliest of
circumstances. For his baptism he was immersed in the lowest body of fresh water upon the planet. In service and suffering, he also descended below all things (D&C 122:8), that he could rise above all things. Near the end of his life, he triumphantly declared, I

have overcome the world. (John 16:33.) Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life. (3 Ne. 15:9.)

3. 3 is for the wisemen bearing gifts, with which they came. Read Matthew 2:11 or show video The Wise Men Seek Jesus We know the wise men found Christ at a later time because it states young child rather than a newborn babe. The Bible Dictionary says

Wise Men of the East

Wise Men of the East. Matthew 2:112 states that wise men (how many is not recorded), guided by a new star, came to Bethlehem to worship Jesus sometime after his birth. Who these men were we are not told, but it is certain they were not ordinary men. That they were privileged to search out the Son of God and give him gifts, and that they were spiritually sensitive and knowledgeable, suggests that they were actually prophets on a divine errand. The customary identification of them as astrologers is a gross misrepresentation. They evidently were holy men from a land east of Palestine. See also Magi.

The wisemen were not ordinary men bearing gifts? How can we be not ordinary women of the world today, and what gifts can we bear? Show The Greatest Gift Mormon Messages for Youth 4. W is for Worship. How can we Worship our Savior? One way is by having true Christmas Spirit. In President Monsons message Rediscovering the Christmas Spirit he states
The spirit of Christmas is something I hope all of us would have in our hearts and livesnot only at this particular season but also throughout the year. When we have the spirit of Christmas, we remember Him whose birth we commemorate at this season of the year: For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11).

In our day the spirit of giving gifts plays a large role in commemorating the Christmas season. I wonder if we might profit by asking ourselves, What gifts would the Lord have me give to Him or to others at this precious season of the year? May I suggest that our Heavenly Father would want each of us to render to Him and to His Son the gift of obedience. I also feel that He would ask us to give of ourselves and not be selfish or greedy or quarrelsome, as His precious Son suggests in the Book of Mormon: Verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil, who stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another. Behold, this is not my doctrine, to stir up the hearts of men with anger, one against another; but this is my doctrine, that such things should be done away (3 Nephi 11:2930). In this marvelous dispensation of the fulness of times, our opportunities to love and give of ourselves are indeed limitless, but they are also perishable. Today there are hearts to gladden, kind words to say, deeds to be done, and souls to be saved.
