OneSimCard How-To Videos

There are a number of helpful 'How-To' videos located in the Help menu of your online account. Please review these videos for step-by-step guidance on using OneSimCard service and our various features.

Getting Started: Activating & Installing Your SIM Card

Install the OneSimCard SIM card into your GSM phone. Your Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card contains your phone number, service details, and phonebook/message memory. NOTE: OneSimCard customers who ordered a Phone Package can skip this installation step. Your phone will be shipped with the SIM card pre-installed.

Follow the instructions in your phone manual. SIM cards are usually located under the battery of the phone. Make sure to install it with the gold plated circuits facing the phone. Slide the SIM card under the retention strap to insert it into the card slot as shown below: CAUTION: Do not bend or scratch the SIM card and avoid exposing it to static electricity, water or dirt.

Or If you see the message 'SIM card error' on the screen, shut off the phone and make sure you installed the SIM card correctly. (If prompted to enter your PIN on power-up, enter 0000.) NOTE: If this is the first time you are installing a OneSimCard SIM card into your phone, you may need to restart your phone after installation in order to fully activate service. Fully power down and then restart your phone. Your phone should then automatically register on an available network or you can manually choose one from your phone menu. Keep in mind that a OneSimCard SIM card will not work with your phone if it is 'locked' by a carrier. If your phone is locked, you can easily unlock it. There are many companies on the web offering unlocking services. You do not have to worry about this if you bought the phone from www.onesimcard.com.

Making Calls from Your OneSimCard Phone

To place an outgoing call using your OneSimCard service: 1. 2. 3. Dial CountryCode - AreaCode - Number . After pressing button, 'wait for call' message will appear on the screen. In 3-10 seconds, your phone will ring. Answer the call by pressing button again and wait for a connection to the called party.

This is the only difference between a regular mobile phone call and a OneSimCard phone call. When you are making outgoing calls, you will get a call back and then be connected. This callback can be removed on any Android or jailbroken iPhone by installing our OneSimCard Direct app. NOTE: The button is also known as or , usually green.

Examples: Calling from France to USA, dial: Calling from China to the UK, dial: NOTE:

1 212 XXX XXXX 44 72 XXX XXXX

Some phones may at times display the following messages: Call is modified Call is not allowed USSD sent Message is being sent Ignore these messages and wait for the phone to ring back within a few seconds.

You can find detailed country and city code information at www.onesimcard.com/countries and a 'How to dial' reference at www.onesimcard.com/howtodial.

Dialing Instructions Using the Phonebook:

You can make calls directly from your phone's phonebook. Save your contacts to your phonebook in the following format: CountryCode - AreaCode - Number NOTE: If your phone requires dialing with *146* prefix you should save contact numbers in the following format: CountryCode - AreaCode - Number

Dialing Instructions for Certain Phones:

Most GSM unlocked phones are compatible with OneSimCard service and will work if the phone has the proper bands. Some GSM phones will not allow you to dial directly from your phone menu. There are alternative ways to place an outgoing call from a OneSimCard phone. NOTE: Most unlocked phones will have a OneSimCard Menu once the SIM card is installed. In Android phones, the menu is called SIM Toolkit. In iPhones, go to Settings - Phone - SIM Application.

Before using alternative dialing methods, try to activate the compatibility mode, so you can then call directly from your phone menu: a. b. c. d. NOTE: Open the OneSimCard menu. Select Settings. Agree with message by pressing Yes. Dial and select OK. (Screen will show 'CC OptionX: ON' message) Bear in mind that if you powered the phone down and removed and reinstalled the battery, you will need to program your phone again.

If you need to deactivate the compatibility mode or reset the Plus SIM, follow these steps: a. b. c. d. Open the OneSimCard menu. Select Settings. Agree with message by pressing Yes. Dial and select OK. (Screen will show 'All settings returned to default values' message)

Alternative Methods of Dialing for Certain Phones and Situations:

There are alternative ways to place an outgoing call from a OneSimCard phone if your GSM phone does not allow you to dial directly from your phone menu. To place a call, use either of these three methods to deal with such cases: 1. Dial in front of the dialed string followed by #: a. CountryCode - AreaCode - Number Example: To call the USA, you dial: 1-617-3138888 (do not forget to include at the end)

2.

Use the Call menu from the OneSimCard Application menu of your phone. a. Locate the OneSimCard menu on your phone. The OneSimCard menu is commonly found among other phone menus and is usually located in Extras, Applications, Main Menu or other folders on the phone. We recommend you set up a soft key of the phone to get quick access to OneSimCard menu. b. When in the OneSimCard menu, select the Call menu. c. Either use the address book of the SIM card or dial CountryCode - AreaCode - Number and select OK. Use the regular SMS menu (not the OneSimCard menu) of the phone to dial via SMS (required for Verizon & Sprint BlackBerry phones): a. To: 9146 b. Message: CountryCode - AreaCode - Number c. After your SMS is sent wait for approximately 10 seconds. You will get a callback in the usual manner and your call will be connected to the destination number.

3.

Example: To call from Saudi Arabia to Boston, USA number 1-617-3138888, you should go to the SMS menu of the phone and send the following message: To: 9146 Message: 1 617 3138888 NOTE: Local carriers block OneSimCard outgoing calls in some countries like Saudi Arabia. If this happens, your call should be initiated by sending an SMS message from the regular SMS menu of the phone (rather than the OneSimCard menu). You can use this method of making calls from other countries in case all other methods listed above do not work. You will not incur an SMS message charge when dialing this way. There are no special instructions to receive calls in these countries.

Calling to a OneSimCard Phone

There are three ways to call to a OneSimCard phone. In addition to the traditional direct dialing method, we have provided two additional high-quality cost-saving methods for your callers to connect with you on the OneSimCard network: Due to the fact that OneSimCard calls are based upon an Estonian mobile platform with an Estonian number, we have built a system that enables you to request unique U.S., Canada or U.K. Personal Extra Numbers (PENs) that forward to your OneSimCard phone. (Other countries may also be available.)

This creates convenience for callers to call a domestic phone number to reach you. It also enables you to forward calls from your home land-line and mobile phones. There are also Common Access Numbers (CANs) that can be used to call a OneSimCard phone. Such numbers will require two-stage dialing: first the access number, then the OneSimCard phone number. These are tremendous cost saving features! Friends call you for free and you are only charged a small surcharge to the incoming rate in your country. To make a call to a OneSimCard phone use one of the following methods: 1. Dialing directly through your Personal Extra Number (PEN) - Recommended: When PEN is dialed, the call will be instantly connected to your OneSimCard phone. Common Access Number (CAN) dialing from the USA, Canada and other world destinations: There are common OneSimCard Toll-Free and Local Access numbers available for calling to OneSimCard phones in the following countries: USA, Canada - Toll Free: 1-866-596-6555 or 1-888-935-4312 USA - Local Access numbers: 1-212-999-6671 1-323-208-3855 1-917-210-9252 1-347-584-2675 1-213-455-9927 1-646-213-5239 1-310-464-3874 1-718-559-6655

Sending and Receiving SMS Messages

There are no special instructions for sending and receiving SMS (Short Message Service) messages, just follow your phone manual. Receiving SMS messages for OneSimCard customers is always free. NOTE: Please bear in mind that when sending SMS messages, you should always dial the number as: CountryCode - AreaCode - Number .

Sending an SMS message from the OneSimCard menu (by choosing Send Travel SMS) on the phone usually costs less than when sending an SMS message directly from the phone menu. In addition, there may be discount SMS available in certain countries. Check our FAQ or Rates And Coverage page on www.onesimcard.com to find out availability and activation instructions. As a complimentary free service to you, SMS messages can be sent to your OneSimCard phone directly from www.onesimcard.com or by e-mail. All you need to do is to provide the link www.onesimcard.com/freesms to your friends, relatives and co-workers or tell them to send e-mail to 3725XXXXXXX@sms.onesimcard.com (where 3725XXXXXXX is your OneSimCard mobile number).

Solving Problems with Sending SMS:

Incorrect SMSC number (SMS Service Center Address) in handset settings. It should be set to +3725099000. You can find it in the SMS settings on your phone. SMS life time is short - must be at least 2 hours or set to Maximum settings. Try sending an SMS from the OneSimCard menu.

Solving Problems with Receiving SMS:
