Information for wheelchairs users A new sticker with safety information for wheelchair users has been approved for display in licensed taxis clarifying the recommended safe position for wheelchair users travelling in taxis. The sticker also incorporates the nosmoking sign, which must be displayed in the passenger compartment of all licensed taxis. The new sticker will go inside the taxi passenger compartment, in the off-side rear quarter light window, the same side as the drivers seat and opposite the window where the Taxi Information Sticker should go. The sticker will go in the same position in all models of taxi, whether LTI, Metrocab or the Mercedes Vito. The sticker, shown below, will be available from the SGS taxi inspection centres and also incorporates the no-smoking sign, which must be displayed in the passenger compartment of all licensed taxis. The stickers will be rolled out to all licensed taxis over the next 12 months and after this period will become a mandatory requirement for all licensed taxis. Make sure the window is clean, dry and free from grease, dirt or adhesive from old stickers 3. Hold the sticker in front of you, so you can see the text and taxi image, fold the left side of the sticker backwards to create a crease from top to bottom dont fold it all the way back, just enough to create a crease 4. Starting from the left hand side, peel the backing off the sticker to the point where the sticker was folded 5. Place the exposed part of the sticker onto the glass on the left hand side of the window, taking care to avoid putting the sticker right into the corner of the window or over the black marking and rubber edging 6. Take a dry cloth, and starting from the left side, slowly push the sticker along the glass towards the right, whilst at the same time pulling the backing off the sticker. Make sure the bottom of the sticker runs just above and level with the bottom of the window. 7. If you get any air-bubbles use the cloth to smooth these out to the nearest edge
