Sir, In continuation to the correspondence on the subject cited above followed by our latest letter dated 16.07.2012, whereunder a request was made to convene the meeting of the state level monitoring committee for Tobacco Control which was constituted by the Govt. It is learnt that no meeting has been held for the last more than two years. You are therefore, requested to take immediate necessary steps to convene the meeting at the earliest, with a view to monitor the progress of the action taken in this regard. Sub : Constitution of high powered committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary to review the monitoring of Tobacco Control Programme. Sir, In continuation to the correspondence on the subject cited above, the relevant order on the subject issued by the other states like Andhra alongwith other material were handed over to the Department and the issue was initiated for the constitution of a committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary on the pattern of Andhra Pradesh. In view of the above, needful may kindly be done at the earliest and concerned may be advised to take immediate necessary steps on the issue, so that meeting of the committee be convened.
