The Big Picture

January 6 -January 12, 2013

Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions, and read the Bible Story with scripture references indicated under the power outlets. As this is done each day, let your child color in or put a sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the teacher. Children who complete 3 weeks Power Cords in a month will have their Picture posted in the foyer of Power Source and their name in the newsletter.

Our future and the time of Jesus return depend on what happens in Israel. Pray for the nation of Israel.

Genesis 12:2, I will make you a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great.

Father God, Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Apostles Ron and Hope. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great you are and how much I love you. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed. In Jesus' name, Amen

Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father; I too may live a new life. Romans 6:4 For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son and if I believe in Him I shall not perish but will have everlasting life. John 3:16 I will enter His gates with thanksgiving and I will come into His courts with praise. I will be thankful unto Him and I will bless His name. Psalm 100:4

Our history as Christians comes through the Jewish people. Gods plan to save the world from sin was to bring the savior through a pure family line. Abraham was just the man God was looking for. He knew that Abraham would always serve and love Him and was separated from the world in the way he lived and thought. God promised Abraham that he would be the father of a great nation. Though he and his wife were too old to have children Gods promise came to pass and at 100 years old, Abraham had a son named Isaac. Abraham and Saras family became known as the Jewish people or the nation of Israel. Jesus was born into this family and millions of people have been born since Jesus. All of them are Jews and it is through this first family that God sent Jesus.
