Working together to achieve success for all!

JANUARY EDITION
Principals Message Happy New Year and welcome back! We had a busy December here at school! Our Christmas Craft Night was a big success and the students enjoyed the activities we managed to do the last week of school. We were disappointed to have postponed the pie throwing and the dance, but have rescheduled both activities. We are very excited to welcome the Momentum Moves Dance instructors to school for a week long session of workshops. We look forward to learning some cool dance moves. We are also in the process of planning a school wide trip to Winterludes Snowflake Kingdom at Jacques Cartier Park in February. We will be looking for volunteers, so considering coming out and having fun with us; a reminder that if you plan on accompanying us, you will need an up to date Criminal reference Check. New to Cambridge this year, we have begun locking all of our exterior doors. This is due in part to the McGuinty governments decision to implement this throughout Ontario next year, as well as concerns expressed about security by our Parent Council. As always, we welcome your visits to school come in and see all the fun and learning! Christmas Elves Campaign 2012

Thank you for your generosity! VALORIS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS OF PRESCOTT-RUSSELL WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION DURING THE CHRISTMAS ELVES CAMPAIGN 2012 WHICH TOOK PLACE IN DECEMBER 2012. We had four activities at the school (crazy hat day, crazy hair day, pajama day and glamour day) during November 2012. The children at school had fun during those days, and we collected money to help others. With the contributions of the children, families and a donation from a local church organization, we raised over $1,200.00 at Cambridge Public School. Thats $300.00 more than the previous year. We bought gifts for nineteen children, and we provided joy and happiness to families during Christmas time. Thank you to the two volunteers on the parent Council of CPS that helped with the Christmas shopping. They spent a lot of hours finding the perfect gift for each child. Every dollar was greatly appreciated, and we would like to thank you for your participation in this special event. Happy new year 2013 ! Jose Lamarche-Pilon Community Worker
