Virgin material and recyclate

Recyclate is homogeneously mixed with our volumetrically or gravimetrically operating equipment and can subsequently be dried in one common drying bin. ETA-process technology

PETtec
LUXOR dryer
Motans simple, yet highly efficient insulated LUXOR series of central dryers are all equipped with closed-loop cool down using dry air ensuring continuously low dew points are achieved.

Return air cooler

Due to the ETA-process heat reclamation system, only a small return air cooler is required to reach the optimal dew point.

ETA-Box

The ETA-Box, fitted with heat exchanger, auxiliary blower and process heater is positioned beside the drying bin. This ensures minimal energy losses.

Drying bin

The specially insulated PET drying bin is mounted on a metal frame directly over the processing machine allowing for the most economical use of energy and floor space. A consistent temperature at the bin outlet or the machine inlet guarantees high quality PET granules. The newly developed double air diffuser ensures a uniformly dry airflow through the entire bin leading to low residual moisture values of the material.

Mould climate control

Motan mould climate control prevents condensation on cooled moulds. Productivity and quality of the preforms are increased, and the machines and moulds are protected against corrosion. Mould climate control is an option available with the LUXOR dryers.

Control

Simple handling by modern, PLC supported controls with Siemens technology and WEBpanel. The LUXORnet PET control offers simple, user friendly operation via a color graphic display with intuitive touchscreen controls. It incorporates comprehensive facilities for operation and process control, and includes enhanced service functions and histograms. The conveying control is integrated as well as the throughput control for adapting the drying and process parameters in relation to material throughput.

The ETA-process dramatically reduces energy consumption


Traditional PET dryer designs require large water coolers to reduce the temperature of the air exiting the drying bin prior to its return to the dry air generator. The ETA-process heat reclamation system uses the exhaust heat from the drying bin to preheat the process air coming from the dryer. The result is that less heat (energy) is used to increase the temperature of the process air. An additional advantage is the lowering of the return air temperature, thereby drastically reducing the size of the return air cooler. PET granules have a low water content and require the highest amount of the energy consumption to simply heat up the PET material to its processing temperature. These facts require the design of PET specific drying technologies. An auxiliary blower is used in the 1- zone drying solution to support the energy transfer into the material in a very cost efficient way. For PET drying systems with high throughputs, the 2-zone drying technology guarantees lowest operating costs. The preheating circuit in the upper zone of the drying bin heats the material up to drying temperature with high efficiency.

Storage Profitability begins with well-organized material storage. Motan offers you comprehensive and long-term experience in proposing storage solutions for both large and small applications. Bulk storage in silos saves factory floor space, reduces material costs and minimizes the need for material inventory control. For small material throughputs Motan has a number of different storage options. As a result, material spillage and contamination are eliminated and storage management becomes simpler and easier.

Metering of additives and coloring The demand for high mixing quality and consistently accurate dosing are a must when introducing additives or color to PET pellets. Motans blending and dosing solution fits compactly on to the machines feed throat. An insert in the mixing throat divides the main component into two streams of material which, with the masterbatch, flow together at the feed inlet, producing an homogeneous mixture. Moreover, temperature resistant dosing and mixing units for several components are available.

Systems Motans equipment has been specifically designed to meet the needs of delicate PET production. Solutions are fully automated and easy to handle in both operation and maintenance.
