2013 Elementary I, Elementary I-II, and Elementary II Teacher Preparation Course

Phase I - Interview

Submit a complete application. Upon review, the Academic Director will contact applicant for an interview appointment. Application Deadline April 30, 2013 Note: A $200 late enrollment fee will apply to all applications processed after the published deadline.
Phase II Orientation and Independent Study

Orientation meetings may be scheduled as soon as a student has completed their interview. Students are introduced to an assignment sequence for independent study to lay an academic foundation for the elementary course.

Applicants without a Montessori Infant-Toddler or Early Childhood credential are required to complete an Early Childhood Overview as part of the Phase II preparation.*
Early Childhood Overview Course dates: Spring 2012 Cohort Dates April 12, 13, 14 April 19, 20, 21 April 26, 27, 28 Phase III Beginning Academics June 30 August 9, 2013 (holidays: July 4 and 5) Phase IV - Practicum Summer 2012 Cohort Dates June 18 21 AND June 24 28 (Tuesday Friday AND Monday Friday)

Beginning August 2013; minimum 9 consecutive months (1080 hours) at an approved school and may end no sooner than the following the final session of the course. Fall Practicum Seminar: October 4 7, 2013

Elementary I Program (6-9)

$6,600 Tuition Fee plus $353 Certification/Membership Fees (MACTE Fee: $148; AMS Adult Learner Fee: $205) Schedule: With application: $500 (application payment) Initial Payment due one week prior to Orientation Date: $2,000 (towards Tuition Fee and $353 for Certification Membership Fees)
Elementary I-II Program (6-12 combined)

$9,700 Tuition Fee plus $353 Certification/Membership Fees (MACTE Fee: $148; AMS Adult Learner Fee: $205) Schedule: With application: $500 (application payment) Initial Payment due one week prior to Orientation Date: $2,000 (towards Tuition Fee and $353 for Certification Membership Fees)
Elementary II Program (9-12) (Prerequisite for admission is MACTE accredited Elementary I credential)

$3,4700 Tuition Fee plus $353 Certification/Membership Fees (MACTE Fee: $148; AMS Adult Learner Fee: $205) Schedule: With application: $500 (application payment) Initial Payment due one week prior to Orientation Date: $2,000 (towards Tuition Fee and $353 for Certification Membership Fees)
Required Attendance of the Early Childhood Overview (*applies to candidates without Infant-Toddler or Early Childhood credential only)

An additional 45 hour Overview Course is required. Due one week prior to course attendance is an additional fee of $700.

Refund Policy

If an applicant is not accepted, the $500 Application payment is refunded. If an applicant withdraws before the Orientation date, $400 will be refunded. A letter of withdrawal must be submitted by the student in order to receive a refund. No refunds will be made after Phase II Orientation has begun. Notes: 1. Tuition 25 late payments received more than five business days after the payment plan due date, will result in a $ fee. Checks returned for any reason will result in a $25 returned check fee. 2. The first and third visits to Practicum sites (over 150 miles from Seton Montessori Institute) will require a travel expense fee of $250 each for a total of $500. This is non-refundable. Checks or money orders are accepted for all payments. VISA or Master Card (presented in person during business hours) are accepted for Initial Payment, Plan I or Plan 2 options only. Applicants holding a degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education are exempt from paying the Academic Credit Fee.
