My Personal Financial Plan Diary 2013 MoneyLifeBlood.blogspot.com InvestinginPhilippines.com Peraholic.com
The purpose of this diary is to help you hit the balance between savings/investment and expenses. Every month is going to be a challenge. That is why every month, you need to fill in the following:
Monthly Savings Goal: Input here your Savings Goal. Monthly Investment Goal: Input here your Investment Goal. Action Items: Indicate here the action items. Roadblocks: Indicate here your scheduled expenses, bills, occasions such as birthdays. 5. Points for Improvement: Indicate here any improvement you want to do for the next month, such as lower fare expenses, fewer dine-outs, etc 6. Prize: Indicate here your simple reward for achieving your savings and investment goal, and for exerting the best possible effort to make it. 1. 2. 3. 4.
Every quarter, you will be answering a short quiz consisting of 5 easy questions to learn how you stand with your personal finance life. I call every quarter wave of investment because every period is an opportunity to save and invest.
Low
Savings Checking Time Deposits Bonds
Medium
Mutual Funds UITFs Insurances*
High
Stocks Real Estate Forex Commodities
Investment Shifts
Categorized above are investments according to risk. Take time to categorize your current investments and identify what kind of investor you are today and what kind of investor you want to be in 2013. This diagram will help you recognize where you want to shift your money, that is shifting your investor profile as well. You can stay as is if you want to, and you can move from one trapezoid to another. Qualify also by age: Low (40s and up) Medium (30s-40s) High (20s-30s) Choice is yours to make.
* Insurances I place in medium since though guaranteed by insurance provider, we will not be sure if the provider will not default. At this time insurance companies are now being regulated.
Objective Setting
I want you to list down 3 objectives this year. You can add more as you go on. But for now, list down 3 big dreams for your personal financial life this year. If in the middle of the year you are done with the 3 big dreams, congratulations! Why not set one (1) more special objective to boot. Good luck! Example: Ill attend a personal finance seminar by end of 2013. As a reward, Ill treat myself for a relaxing spa and massage.

Personal Finance Tip of the Month: If one day the company health card is gone, what will you do? Why not save up some moolah for health care expenses in the future. Based on my experience, when it comes to expenses like this, credit cards will help. But cash is king. Think about it.
